Hey, ShikamaruRocks, here. How ya doin'?

I have another world. One called "Shika's Busy-ish Nook" that contains less random stuff than you'll find here. For the most part. I'll leave all the official stuff that's on here though, but all new official stuff will be there.

I AM A GIRL. So many people think I'm a dude, but I'm not. I promise.

Soooo, let's get on with it, shall we?

Most of these are in no particular order...

Favorite Manga: Fruits Basket, Saiyuki, Saiyuki Reload, RurouniKenshin, DNAngel, Prince of Tennis, Trigun, One Piece, Rave Master, Nana, PeaceMaker Kurogane, Fullmetal Alchemist, HanaKimi, Ouran High School Host Club, etc.

Favorite Anime: Hunter x Hunter, Fullmetal Alchemist, Peacemaker Kurogane, DNAngel, Fruits Basket, TekkonKinkreet, Saiyuki, Mushi-shi, BECK, Avatar (it counts!!! grrrr....), Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, RurouniKenshin, etc.

Music Peeps: YellowCard, Death Cab for Cutie, Snowpatrol, A Fire Inside, The Used, Three Days Grace, Seether, Orange Range, My Chemical Romance, Hoobastank, Muse, The Pillows, Plain White T's, Angels and Airwaves, Flaming Lips, Bump of Chicken, and!!! The Jonas Brothers (my guilty pleasure).

I love cooking, drawing, reading (mostly manga but novels are wicked awesome too. I just don't have the time nor stamina for novels as much anymore...though I have been working my way back in. lol), knitting, watching my brother play Zelda/Metroid games (lol), and skateboarding, though I fail epicly at it.

Toodles!!

When Hair Attacks

So, one of my friends has a fro.

He's been growing it for a while so that he could get it straightened and have "white people hair" lol. He's mixed so his hair is actually really soft and he doesn't have to put grease and stuff in it.

Anyway, here's a pic of his hair a few weeks ago (before he got it straightened). Keep in mind, he came to school like this.

Yeah. He rocks. Sorry the pics pretty low quality. My phone's not that great. Now that his hair's straight, or, actually I guess it's more like it's been relaxed. It only looks straight when he does all sorts of crap to it. Anyway, now that it's been relaxed he looks like a puppy. I mean, his hair looks like the fur on a cocker spaniel's ears. So cute!

Well, I hope this pic brightened your day. (>^-^)> Kirby is certainly happy about it.

Close Encounter of the Pretty Kind

If you read my sister's posts, then perhaps you know why I have not been updating lately. However, just incase you don't, I'll enlighten you.

Last Wednesday my mother royally messed up the muscles and nerves in her back leaving her in agony and with very little to no use of her right (and dominate) arm. Then, the following day an adorable Japanese girl named Azu came to stay with us through the first of April. So, I've been busy taking care of my mum and entertaining Azu.

Now, on to some entirely irrelevant information about my day at school.

There's this guy at school (I think he's a sophomore) with semi-wavy, long brown hair that is always in a ponytail who is about my height and in perfect shape like a tennis player. Every time I see him I simply can not help but squeal, "Pretty!!" to my friend, Sierra. So, today, just before leaving school at 2:00 (there was a dodge-ball tournament and I was leaving early) I saw him and said, "Pretty!!!" to Sierra, at which point Sierra dashed toward the boy and I freaked out, running down the hall and toward my locker at full speed.

As I was kneeling in front of my locker putting my books in my backpack, I saw two pairs of legs standing beside me. I looked up and said, "Oh my God..." as Sierra started giggling.

She pointed at "pretty-boy" who was standing next to her and said, "This is my friend. Stand up, he has something to give to you."

I stood up and he looked at me with this gaze that I do not think it is possible to describe with words and drawled, "Heeeey", at which point I started laughing. He then hugged me for about 15 seconds and nuzzled my cheek with his nose. I almost died from laughter and pushed him to arms length and said, "My name's Orihime(some names in this article have been changed. lol)," then looked at Sierra and said, "I am going to kill you."

My pretty-boy replied, "Hey, Orihime" (it seems he has a fairly limited vocabulary) and hugged me again.

Sierra then explained that she had met him at a party and that neither of them really remember what went on there but she does remember that she told him about me and that I always squeak about his pretty-ness. Then he hugged me quickly and said, "I've gotta go," and took off down the hall. I wanted to smack Sierra, but I really was happy too.

Getting a hug (and basically a promise for future hugs) from my pretty-boy was something I never expected. He didn't tell me his name though. Guess I'll have to ask next time I see him.

What does this have to do with any thing, you ask? Well, nothing, but it was fun to write about.

Sokka Rocks Ya

So. Avatar. It's awesome.

You have seen it, right? Good.

Sokka rocks. Period. There's not really another way to describe the boy more perfectly.

Sure, Zuko's cool, but, come ON. I'm mean, really.

Currently Avatar is up for some Nick Award thing. Go here to vote for Avatar, yo:

Peace out, my hommies. lol

Goin' to Nationals, baby!!

So, I'm in a really big culinary program, as I mentioned in the post just previous to this one.

Recently, about a third of all of our students went to State competition. We had two teams that were competeing in the cooking section which included making a three course meal, two plates of each dish, in one hour. They were teams of 4 plus one alternate. Then we had two teams on the management part. That consists of one group of four facing off with another group of four and seeing who answers the most questions in a Jeopardy style of play and then where they have to annalyze a problem at a restaurant and tell a panel of judges what each of their team members would do if they were the head chef, or manager or whatever in that situation. Finally, we had two kids in the edible centerpiece part of the competition. They had 45 minuets to make an awesome centerpiece all out of stuff you can fruits and veggies.

Also, one of my best buds went as a manager person. Yay!

Anywhooooo. We won 1st and 2nd in Centerpiece. Boo-YAH!! And we got 1st and 3rd in management which means we're going to Nationals with THAT. And finally, we got 1st and 2nd in the Culinary part!!!! Rock ON!!!! So, our 1st place team is also going to Nationals.

Man. We did good.

Japan~~~

So, I have to write TWO DIFFERENT research papers over Spring Break.

Yuck. One is for Japanese, and one is for my Culinary class. Lucky me, they are both on Japanese food. Rock on. I can just modify the one for Japanese and I'm set. Boo-yah.

So, I should be working on that know (considering that I am in Culinary right now....) but I've already spent quite a bit of time choosing my online sources. They're all pretty good sites. Check em out.

The second one is really long (like 10 pages of pretty small print) so it's not like I expect you to read them and tell me what you found or anything. Just, if you ever have any questions about Japanese food, now you know where to look. lol. I also have a couple books on sushi and rice, and Tofu and Miso. Pretty schnazy. haha.

Man. I'm a dork.
