Secrets Bane - Chapter 3 - A New World

Chapter 3 – A New World

Pzao trudged through the grass, dragging his legs. He had just lost his brother to the wilderness; he had gone and deserted him. His mind was still fresh with the vision of Uka’s angered face, burning him to the core. Water was entangled in the threads in his clothes.
The sun hung heavy in the sky, there was no wind as the sun scorched the grass, turning it brown and tortured. The grass was crushed in lines where Pzao had walked. The life felt like it was being ripped apart from him, his entire entity was being manipulated by the situation.
He approached a brook; light danced upon the waters surface, rippling as leave fell from the tree overhead. The shadows were a comforting relief from the scorning heat of the sun. He let the water drift through his hands; he clung onto the purity and flung it into his face. It dripped of his features, his felt a sense of calm here. The world was slower, no life to die, no death to mourn and no man to kill…
Laying his body against the bark of an old oak, he screwed his eyes up as the suns blaze met his sight. Color warped into his brain as the flash blinded him momentarily. Once he regained his sight, he noticed a young girl collecting water from the brook. He watched as she knelt down to collect the water.
Her beauty struck him as odd, she wasn’t of normal origin, nothing was that pure. Her hands glided through the water, she turned to face him. Shocked sprung abruptly over her face. “What are you doing here?” Her voice was calming yet haunting.
He blinked as she blocked out the sun, his eye accommodating to the light. Her hair streamed down her face, her skin was white and plump, full of youth. She looks at him with concern, she scrambled off after he did not reply, just staring at her as she glided away.
She carried on playing with the water with her fingers, trapping it in her hands and watching it drain away, he was stunned at her innocence. She had no care in the world. He was bemused by such creativity and love for the simplest of life’s pleasures. Light brushed off the water as it flickered from her hands. He tilted his head, sighing as his mind focuses back on his problems. His life was engulfed in a twisted and confused fate that was getting more and more twisted as he faced the open wilderness. The girls purity and freedom showed a compassion in his heart that somehow sprung forth into the glorious daylight, being released from the imprisonment of darkness, held down by the chains of guilt.
The vision of his brother was smeared across his mind, the pace, so angered, pain him. His eyes came to reluctant tears, looking into the distance, he thought of his brother. Chaos cluttered in his brain, images of his tortured body sprawled over the grass filling his mind. Tormenting him.
His rose to his feet, wiping his eyes with his ragged sleeve. His face tightened as the girl approach him again. Watching her, he noticed she was small, very small. She looked up at him, her eyes big and bright. Her face was beaming at him, her features petit yet defined.
As she stared up at him, her hypnotic eyes intoxicated him, holding his stare. His heart shook in his chest, pounding away as the girl terminated her stare. She skipped away without a care in the world.
