Hey, as cruel as this sounds, I'm happy to hear someone else has had the gender thing happen. I'm thinking of adding the tagline "PS I'm a Guy" to my avatars from now on. Some of the other useername issues may be related to the technical issues, especially regarding IE that the site has made an effort to correct.
There was a lot of tension going down in the early days of the launch, and not just limited to the technical issues with IE not working the site correctly. Many people packed up and left the site completely because they couldn't get simple things on the site to work. The technical issues drove some long-time members away, others left for their own reasons.
Much of the comment/communication issues could have been avoided had Version Vibrant actually ported the MyOtaku friends list into the new subscription system when it launched. In other words, if we automatically got subscribed to all the people on our myotaku friends lists from the beginning, without having to do every step manually, people would more likely still be in touch more than they are. It's been months, but I haven't gotten to every single site on my MyO friends list and clicked through to the portfolio to re-subscribe on VV yet. It's a time consuming and sometimes difficult process.
The Artist tracker we had on the old TheO is also gone, which means a lot of artists I was watching have updated and I don't know it cause I don't have access to that info anymore. That Artist Tracker should have also been ported into subscriptions with the relaunch.
