She Saw Him...

I sit in this corner of this freezing cold room of death, crying about the actions that came and gone in the blink of an eye. I'm lost now. I have no one to hold me, warm me, let me know that I'm not alone in the world. I feel as if -in seconds- I'm about to die. I feel as if someone is going to come through that door and break my soul in two.
"Mommy?" I call in a very light whisper. I knew that she wasn't going to come. She was gone -just like everyone else I loved. Still... that name made me feel warmer. "Mommy," I whispered again. I smiled. I heard her voice in my head. It sounded so great to me that the sound came to me from the room, not my head.
I stood up and looked around the room. I called, "Mommy! Where are you? I hear you, but I can't see you! Where are you?" There was no reply. I lost my smile, and started to cry. "Mom? ...Mommy?" My voice broke. I lost my balance and fell to my knees. "Mom..."
I opened my eyes and saw a small light -about the size of the pupil in the middle my eye- on the wall. It shined as bright as the sun, but it didn't hurt when I looked straight into it. I crawled my way to the light, and as I got closer to the light, it grew larger and larger -making a figure like a tall skinny man.
I reached the wall. The figure -that made out a man- shined behind me, not making me want to look back. I knew that it wanted me to face the wall. I started to say something, but the man spook, "My child, why are you alone?"
"No one at this orphanage loves me..." I answered -still facing the wall.
"Why do you say that?" The man asked.
"No one is even caring to get to know me. They're all surrounding the adults, and yelling, 'give me this!' or 'give me that!'" I turned to the man. "Why?" I asked, "Why are they asking the adults those questions?"
The man had no face, but I felt his smile. "It's Christmas time."
"What?" I had no idea what the man had just said. "What is...Chrestmess?"
I felt the man smile again. "It's Christmas my child. It's a very important day."
I was confused again. "My mommy and daddy never told me about Christmas. What is it?" I asked.
"I told you my child," the man held out his hand and said, "Take my hand and I'll show you how grateful Christmas is."
I shook my head. "No no! I feel that I'm taking too much of your time," I said.
"My child... you must understand that you could never waist my time with anything."
"I feel like I am though..." The man's hand reached down to me and touched my cheek. His hand felt so warm, so soft, so... safe.
"You will fall asleep tonight and see the true meaning of Christmas."
The man's shining was fading away. "No!" I yelled, "Don't go!" I jumped up and grabbed his leg. "Please... don't go." I started to cry. I knew he was going, and I'd never see him again.
"You're wrong." I looked up at him. He knew... what I just thought! "You will see me again my child."

For sure, the child saw the man again. She learned that the man's name was Jesus. She learned that she could talk to him by praying and going to church. She also learned that Christmas was a time to celebrate Jesus and all of his glory...

She saw him…
