Well I guess you found my hiding place. There are things in this life that no one knows about the real me... maybe you'll get to discover some of these things for yourself, if your lucky or vice versa. Some things weren't meant to be known though, these things you will only find out if I trust you [and my trust is not easy to earn]. For now this is all I have to say. Adios.

A Birthday Surprise for Rin

I did not write this, my friend Illana did. It is not about any of you it is about my friends on myspace, if it upsets any of you please let me know and I will delete it.
~Rin~

Please read the spoiler first.
Thank you.

Rin walked silently down the school hallway, her hands in her pockets. Though she wasn’t really aware of her surrounding’s she easily dodged between the people gathered in the hallway Though her school had uniforms she chose not to wear the girls style outfit, she like the boys style more because she felt it was much easier to fight in. Turning the corner she was tackled by her best friend Illana.
“Lanie what was that for?” Rin asked after falling over and sitting up right.
Illana smiled and helped her up.
“Oh come on. You forgot your own birthday?” she said laughing.
Rin blinked for a minute, she didn’t completely understand what she meant at the moment. Then it hit her.
“Holy shit, I can’t believe I forgot my birthday. Wow 18 years went by fast.” Rin said grinning.
Illana helped Rin up and smiled.
“So my little firebug, what are you doing for your birthday?”
“What do you mean? I never do anything for my birthday; I haven’t since mom and sis died.”
Illana pouted.
“Come on. We’re doing something tonight.” She said.
Rin smiled lightly knowing she couldn’t argue with her.
“Alright.”
Illana dragged Rin through the rest of the school.
“Lanie where are we going?” she asked.
“You’ll see.” Illana said mischievously over her shoulder.
“I’m not liking this at all.”
“You worry too much Firebug.”
Rin shook her head and slipped her hand from between Illana’s fingers.
“I can walk on my own you know.”
“Hey the fair is in town.”
Rin smiled brightly.
“Really? I didn’t know that, let’s hope I don’t end up working tonight.”
“If you do, I’m gonna go ballistic on the person who causes you to have to work tonight. Even if it’s that creepy guy I keep hearing about.”
“Who?”
“That creepy guy with the hat.”
“Oh you mean Kisuke, he’s not creepy. He’s just kinda unusual.”
“Whatever, come on or they’re gonna close!!!!”
Rin smiled and followed Illana to the fair grounds. The fair grounds were lit with bright lights strung all over buildings and rides. Rin grinned and ran to the ferries wheel.
“Come on Lanie!!! Let’s get a sky look at the city!!”
Illana laughed and ran after her. Rin had already gotten on the Ferris wheel when a dark haired boy sat down next to her.
“Sorry, they said we had to go in order.” He said quietly.
“That’s ok, Lanie won’t mind.” Rin said looking at the skyline as the ride started to move.
The boy smiled.
“Beautiful sunset huh?”
“Yeah it is.” She said with a slight smile.
Illana sat in the seat below them with an orange haired girl in one of their school uniforms.
Rin tensed as she heard something off in the distance.
“Damnit.” She cursed under her breath.
Illana looked up at her and nodded scowling.
“Sorry, but I have to go.” Rin said jumping down from the outside edge of the seat to the ground and landing lightly on her feet. She pulled a green pill out of her pocket and put it in her mouth. “Riku stay here.” She ordered as she changed into her Soul Reaper form with Illana following closely behind her.
A few people had seen them both jump and had gathered around them and began asking questions. Rin and Illana left Riku and Moka stammering, trying to explain.
“Have fun!!!” Illana called.
Rin sighed.
“See told ya I’d be working on my birthday.”
Illana grinned oddly.
“Yeah you did.”
Two people went running past them. The girl and the guy from the fair.
“What the hell? How’d they catch up with us.”
The girl looked over her shoulder and smiled.
“We got it.” She said.
Rin looked at Illana who was still grinning oddly.
“Lanie what’s going on?”
“Nothing’s going on, what makes you think that?”
“The weird grin on your face and the fact that they can sense it too.” Rin said looking at the two people running in front of them.
“Who Uryu and Orihime? Of course they can sense it, it’s not a hollow.”
“Then what is it?”
“Renji.” Uryu said looking back at Rin.
“Wh-what? What’s he doing here?”
“You’ll see.” Illana said taking off in front of her.
“Hey wait up.”
“Nope you’ll have to catch us first.” Illana said as the spiritual pressure vanished.
“Damnit Lanie!!!!” Rin yelled following her.
They rounded a corner disappearing out of site.
“I know where they’re going.” Rin said turning down an ally taking a shortcut.
-Meanwhile-
“Where’d Rin go?” Orihime asked Illana.
“She probably took a shortcut.” She answered as they came into view of the shop. “We better hide before she gets here.”
“Hey guys, come on. Kisuke has everything ready.” Renji said walking up to them.
“Alright then let’s hide.” Illana said, “Wait where’s Ichigo?”
“Right here.” Ichigo said pearing out from the doorway. “Everybody hide, she’ll be here soon.”
Everyone hid just in time. A few minutes later Rin walked in the door and looked around.
“Hello?” she said, “I could have swore they were coming here.”
Suddenly the lights turned on and everyone jumped up.
“Happy Birthday Rin!!!!” they all said in unison.
Kisuke handed her a long box and she opened it to find a new katana. Rin gave him a hug.
“Thanks Kisuke, thanks everyone.” She said smiling brightly.
“Your welcome.” Renji and Ichigo said taking turns giving her a kiss.
Rin blushed slightly and smiled.
“Today has been a wonderful day.” She said eating a piece of cake.
“Don’t get used to it, you still have to train tomorrow.” Kisuke said.
“Awww man.” They all said together and laughed.
The end.

A very silent night.

Rin sat in her room watching the sun set through her open window. Riku was curled up on her pillow asleep, the strange little plushie looked so cute. She sighed as the last rays of sunlight disappeared over the horizon and carefully jumped down out of the window and landed silently on her feet. She put her hands in her pockets and walked out into the street and then down toward the river.
Rin looked out at the dark blue liquid light and sat down on the banks putting her feet in the cold water. She sat there and relaxed enjoying the only silent night she'd had for a long time. Tomorrow the cycle would start all over again and she'd be busy for a while.
For now she would enjoy the very silent and cool night.

The Temple: A Firey Beginning

"I can't believe an eight year old could cause so much damage."
They all whispered this as I walked by. In the past couple months everything had changed. I was eight and somehow I alone had destroyed the temple in the area I lived in. Something was wrong with me. I didn't know what but I wanted to find out.
After the accident I had been taken to the temple and had lived there for a while. The priest was always worried about me, he'd always said something was off. After he had taken me in I had nearly killed him. I sat crying on the steps of the burned temple. He came to comfort me, though he knew it was my fault.
"What is wrong with me?" I asked looking up at him. He smiled and hugged me.
"Nothing is wrong with you my dear child." he replied, "You are gifted in many ways, this is one of them. You must learn to control it though."
I nodded. "Yes father."
He took my hand. "Come I want to show you something." The priest led me to an old part of the temple that somehow had not burned down.
"What is this place?" I asked looking around at the jade statues that stood there.
"This is the temple of the guardian Kitsuma Teshimara." he said bowing to a statue of a dragon. I immitated him.
Then I noticed a statue of a little girl in front of the dragon. Her face was hidden by a blanket of long hair, she knelt before the dragon holding a bright steel sword.
"Who is she?"
"She is the guardian of the blade, Kitsuma Hara. The sword is believed to contain the spirit of a brethren to Lord Kitsuma Teshimara." he said smiling again. "I believe it is your turn to look after the blade."
I looked up at the dragon statue and the eyes seemed to glow.
"I will guard it with my life." I said evenly.
~ *** ~ *** ~
I have guarded over the blade since that day. since then the temple has been rebuilt and the priest has died. I live on though as if I'm not just watching over the sword, but it is watching over me. I am guarded by the blade, Kitsuma Hara, the brother of our lord and guardian.
