kairi was one of my favorite characters. I always thought she was not at all(or shouldn't be) interested in Sora. He seemed very over protective(and obsessive, lik ur sayin).

I think her outfit is cute. it doesn't look slutty at all, there are many other characters you could probably say have slutty costumes!

I also think people hate Kairi because people hate the whole "Sora x Kairi" thing. Many people think that they or their own character should be with Sora/Riku/Roxas/ect. so they try to bash characters like Kairi/Namine(whom i also like)

I actually quite like her.
I love her hair! I've been looking for a dye that colour for ages, but I can't find one :(

Although my one problem with her is her annoyingly pathetic voice.

I'm neutral with her period...besides, if there are three KH character I just CAN'T STAND AT ALL....they happen to be DiZ,Luxord, and Ansem's Heartless.....but mostly DiZ...... ^_^

Ugh, I hate it when she had the Keyblade though. I was all, "WTF? When was she able to weild a keyblade?? That goes against Sora, Roxas and Riku's special ability!!" Yeah, that was the only thing I hated about her.
And it's so friggin' funny because half of the fan-made KH OCs I see are always so "Sweet", "kind", "strong", "lovely", ect ect. There's basically NO negative quality about them and they complain about Kairi being too "clingy and slutty". Ha. It pisses me off sometimes.

Wait--there are people that hate Kairi that much? Seriously? (Then again I don't have much room to talk... *looks back at priestess Kikyo with disdain*) Well, in Kairi's defense to being "too wimpy" or "too girlish":

1) She is a girl who isn't afraid to show off her femininity
2) She's most likely never had any interest in physical combat in her life until the second game
and 3) how many of those same girls out there who loath her have actually taken a self-defense course, let alone a fighting class? (No offense to anyone out there; I know I haven't had any of those courses!)

Lolz, yeah I noticed that alot too. XD I don't like Kairi but I don't hate her either, just neautral. XD I just made Kairi obsessed with Sora in my manga to make it more funny, plus I prefer my friends' oc's and Sora together than KairixSora, so, yeahhh, I dunno. XD I think she's nice tho.^^ I guess it's also cuz I just don't like the voice actress, she is so girly, I just don't like hearing her talk with an intentional princess voice too, as she said in the interview. XD Namine is more calm and elegant, I dunno how to describe it. XD so she kinda over dominates kairi's pinky girly-ish personality or something, (I suck at explaining things todayyy XD hkuayudqwhdqkh) plus she likes art, so that's extra brownie points :3

Most people seem to have issues with 'perfect' characters *coughhack*LIKEMASAYA*coughhackchoke* and typically want to pair up the character that is obsessed with the 'perfect' character with either their own, or a different canon, character.

And I agree with Sage, she's too close to Sora for the fangirls. It's probably mostly Sora fangirls that hate her, anyway. Why must people hate characters?

Maybe it's because she's like the "Damsel in Distress" in most cases.
Plus she may be considered obnoxious to other people.

And I don't think she's obsessed with Sora. She cares for Riku, too. But it's proven she has true feelings for Sora.

It's true that she is a Princess of Heart, but then again her personalities are not like that of a princess much.
In fact, if you don't remember, in the first game, she didn't even know she was a princess to start with.
So thinking of her like a spoiled brat and such seems pretty unfair if you ask me. =/

I, for one, think Kairi's okay. I hold no grudge against her.
(In fact, my haircut is the same as her from KH2...But it grew long. >>)
She's just a sweet and friendly girl. She would never be like all those stuff everyone considers her.

Just a wild guess; she's too close to Sora for the fangirl's liking. I've seen quite a few good characters bashed just because it gets in the way of a pairing.
