Law of Ueki

Rating: I'd say all ages but Robert's face may scare young children *shot*
Sub/Dub: Both
Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Shounen, Supernatural
Number of episodes: 51

Wikipedia summary:
The story starts out with the Battle of the Supernatural Powers, a tournament to decide who will be the next god of The Celestial World.

Each candidate (100 in total) is required to choose a junior high school student to act as their fighter. The student is given a unique power and told to eliminate as many enemies as possible. The winning god Candidate will become The New god of Heaven and the winning student will receive the Blank Zai, a talent that can be anything they choose.

While this leads many students to thoughts of greed and selfishness, Kosuke Ueki decides to take it upon himself to win this tournament to keep that power away from those that would abuse such a gift.

From Viz:
A group powerful beings called tenkaijin are holding a special tournament. The rules of the game--each tenkaijin selects a kid in junior high to be his champion and grants him a special power. The kids take each other on in heated battle, but if they hurt innocent bystanders, then they lose one of their natural-given abilities. Every time they win a battle, they gain a new ability. The ultimate winner of the tournament is granted any power of his choosing, and the tenkajin who he represents succeeds in becoming the next god. Kosuke Ueki has been chosen to fight in the tournament. His special power--the ability to turn garbage into trees.

My rating: 3.5/5
I found the series enjoyable, yet at the same time it didn't really reach out to me. I found myself wanting to finish it to see the outcomes of the battles, but I never really gave it all my attention.
In my opinion it reminded me a lot of Zatch Bell ((but that could just be me)), young people in japan with magical powers fighting to decide the next king of a completely different world? Similar maybe? :3
It was interesting though, and did have me laughing a lot at some really stupid moments, which was one thing I enjoyed. ((what’s a comedy without comedy?)) Of course there were some grr inducing moments as well, but overall the plot/story/whatever was fun to watch whenever there wasn’t someone babbling on about unimportant nonsense, which I’m glad only happened a couple of times.
I will say one thing though, if I hear another person blather on about the power of friendship, and helping their friends, and the power of friends, I will take my super ultra mega imaginary chainsaw and massacre people. So you can see that was mentioned a lot.
The voices were ok I guess, I watched some in sub and some in dub to compare them and I figured out that Ai’s dub voice annoys the crap out of me D:<
The animation was good though, and I was happy to see there were no strange out of proportioned bodies or freaky squiggle fingers.
All in all I’d say it was pretty good, and recommend it to people who enjoyed Zatch Bell and other anime of that genre.
*edit* Apparently it's also similar to an anime/manga called Hunter x Hunter?
There’s just that one scene where Anon eats *insert name here* I suggest small children leave the room on that part. It wasn’t too scary, but I just thought it was creepy.
