Night Mirror: Chapter Two

I’m in to vampires, demons, angels, and crap like that. My room is filled with books and movies about them. I started liking them when I was 5 years old. Right before my mom left, she had taken me to this museum thing, and inside were the most beautiful pictures. The pictures were of angels, vampires, and other mythical creatures, and in the middle of the whole museum was a statue. It was of an angel, she was so pretty, but she looked so sad. Her face looked like she about to cry, it was so sad. I had asked my mommy, ”Mommy why does that angel look sad?”
“Well, Emily, I don’t know, but your right she does look sad.” my mom said looking up at the angels face. I my mom’s voice sounded sad when she said that. I looked up at her face to see she was crying.
“Mommy, what’s wrong mommy?” I said grabbing my mom’s dress, and stared at her.
“Its nothing, dear, do you want to look at the paintings now?” she asked walking away from the statue to look at a picture.
Ever since then I go to that museum to look and read about mythical creatures almost every week, I loved it there. And I’d have to say that’s how I got in to mythical creatures.

I pulled into the school parking lot, and found an empty parking spot. Getting out of the car I see my friend walking towards the school. Running towards her I yell,
“Yo Meroko, wait up.”
Meroko turned around, smiled, and waved.
“So Emily, anything interesting happen to you over the weekend?” Meroko asked opening the door.
“I had the weirdest dream last night, I was in a dark empty house. And there was this empty room, but I guess it wasn’t empty cause in it there was this HUGE mirror. It had cravings on it of an angel and a demon. When I touched it, I felt this sharp pain, and then woke up.” I said walking in the door.
“Wow, do you think it means anything?” Meroko had this thing for thinking dreams mean something.
“I doubt it, but when I think about it. The angel on the mirror was the same as the angel in that museum. ” I said as we sat down at our desks. She got this excited look on her face. But before she could say anything else the teacher came in and started the class.

A Million Tears

My beautiful gray fur, with strips across my back. I sit on my shelf, in a storage closet. My dream is to become a kids best friend, and her to name me. My given name is purr, but everyone’s name is that. I want a name that’s different then others. But that’s everyone’s dream, not just mine. A light turns on, and I’m pulled off the shelf and stuck in a bag. I’m carried for awhile, till I feel solid ground beneath me. I sit there waiting for awhile, till I feel myself move again, and the bag opening. I’m pulled out by a soft, small hand. I look up to see a little girl holding me. She had long brown hair, and a smile like she was as happy as me. She was lying on a bed, with tubes in her arms. She had been hospitalized, because she had lung cancer, and needed to be constantly watched. She laid me down next to her and said,
“I shall name you Chiyuki, Chiyuki means a million snows. Its in the hope I’ll live a long time.” Excitement over whelmed me, I finally had my own name, and it had a meaning.
Everyday the girl would take me with her on her walks, and she would talk to me. At night, I’d watch her cry herself to sleep. She had told me why once, it was the fear that she would never wake up.
As we were going on our walk, we looked out the window to see white flakes. They were falling from the sky, the girl loved to watch them fall. As I laid there in her hands while she watched, I realized something. Just how gentle she held me, and her hands seemed so soft. This was my most happiest moment ever. I truly wished she’d live a million years to watch the snow with me.
The next day, I lied on the bed next to the girl. She was pure white, and still hasn’t woken up yet. Fear washed over me, there was other people in the room. They were all crying, and I wish that could. A million tears would fall, if they could, from my eyes. The little girl had died in the middle of the night. The girl was taken away. Her mom picked me up and carried me away.
She put me in the little girls room, at her house, on the window seal. Along with a picture of her, Yuki an 8 year old girl. Her mom brushed her hand down my back, and told me how important I was to Yuki. She started crying, and left the room. I was alone, the only person in my life was gone. I sat there and stared at her picture, I realized that her dream of being alive for a long time didn’t come true. She had died at such a young age. I promised right there to Yuki that I would watch a million snow falls for her. For every year from then on, I did watch the snow fall. And every year I could swear that the little girl was there watching the first snow fall with me.
