Romance Comedy Manga--Why So Addicting?

Hello everyone! Here I am for another rant. Sorry I haven't ranted in awhile--things have been happening, and I just couldn't get another good idea. But another one hit me as I was preparing for bed--so get ready for a major rant.

So! Onto what I was saying--Romance-comedy manga. Some of the best manga out there are under this genre--Ouran High School Host Club, Peach Girl, Suzuka, Fruits Basket, Special A, etc.

The question I pose on readers today: (Do I even have any readers?)

Why are they so addicting? That's what I'm attempting to figure out.

Screwball romance comedies are somthing that almost anyone can fall prey to--tough, macho guys, pretty little girls, goths, preps, you name it. Is it the pretty boys? The wonderful heroine? The love? The angst?

I guess it could be all these things......Or maybe somthing more.

From many, many personal experiances, I can safely conclude that life is like a romance manga--it has its ups, downs, loves, breakups, and heartbreaks. It's not all fun and games. Romance manga is like a comforter pillow--you can safely nestle in it when life gets tough and you feel like crying. It can show that you aren't alone in the fight for love and affection. The characters in manga can almost seem real at times, and if the characters are well developed enough, you can sypathize with them and try to gain that boy's affection one more time, or try out for that track team to get that girl's eyes on you.

What I'm saying is that romance-comedies can reflect on our lives sometimes.

Meybe I'm just insane for thinking this way. Maybe I'm not? That's somthing only you (if you're there) can decide. What do you think?
