Hello again everyone. I've been up for the last half hour or so doing some work on an outline for a new fanfic, and since I'm still a bit wired I decided to do a post to let everyone know how I've been doing. It's after midnight in my timezone as I write this post. In fact it's now more or less five years to the day when my mom died. Actually, the anniversary of my mom's death almost passed me by without notice. I probably wouldn't have realized that at all if my dad hadn't said something about it to me yesterday evening. The same thing happened last year too. I wonder if the fact that I don't remember the anniversary means that I've moved past my mom's death. Then again there are parts of that day I can never remember and parts that I'll never forget. Maybe at the time I just didn't know what the date was and didn't care. I can remember it was a Thursday and that it was around the start of the fall semester at the college I was attending at the time, but that's pretty much it in regards to the day it happened.
Sorry if I was a bit of a downer just now. Anyway, I didn't really have the best day yesterday. I was supposed to start this internship at my town's public library today as part of my final online class, which I was both excited and nervous about. When I showed up though, the library director said that she hadn't gotten the syllabus or schedule for my class so she'd know what kind of work I should do while I was there. So she sent me home and told me to come back on Thursday. Needless to say, I was greatly disappointed by this turn of events. But it could've gone a lot worse, I guess. For instance the director of my library could've just forgotten about the whole thing.
Another bad thing that happened yesterday (not as bad as the start of my internship being delayed of course) is that the login page for FanFiction.Net was down. In fact as far as I know, it's still down. I decided to take a look and see if it was back up after I called it a night with the outline and it was still down. Of course it's not that big of a deal in this case, since I currently don't have a new chapter of a story to post. I haven't been able to do a whole lot of writing because of my class. Plus I haven't had a lot of drive to continue work on the fanfic I've been writing for the last couple of months. For the last few weeks my mind has kind of been fixated on a couple of new story story ideas. In any case, hopefully the site will be back up and running later today.
Of course yesterday wasn't completely bad. On my way back from the library I came up with a potential solution to this one small problem I've been having. For the last few months, I've been trying to find a certain rare Yu-Gi-Oh! card for my collection and have been having zero luck. I did find an ultra rare card in a pack I opened a couple of days ago, but it was hardly a card I desired. That's one of the problems with booster packs. Even if you are lucky enough to find an Ultra Rare card, it might not be the card you want. But it occurred to me that I could trade such cards for ones I do want at this one store I had been to a couple of times long ago. So I spent a good chunk of the afternoon doing a sort of audit of my recent card tins and found a whole bunch of rare cards that I could live without or by some strange twist of fate have duplicates of. Later this month I plan to go down to that little shop to trade those cards in and hopefully find that one card I've been searching for, and maybe much more.
