Christmas Week: 2014

Ladies and gentlemen, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Hello again everyone. Just thought I'd do another post to let everyone know how things are going. I guess for the most part I'm the most relaxed I've probably been in a few months. It's been kind of a stressful few months for me, what with my online class and other things. But this weekend has been pretty good for me. It was apparently Absurdly Powerful Out-of-Control Psychos Night on Toonami last night. First it was the Dragon Ball Z movie, Broly: The Legendary Super Sayien followed by the iconic Akira. I didn't watch Akira. I saw it when Toonami aired it last year as part of their December movie lineup and did not care for it much. Akira's kind of an overrated film in my opinion. The Dragon Ball Z movie wasn't bad though.

Anyway, I'm also having a pretty good time writing this new Pokemon fanfic I started a few days ago. It's been a fun story to write partly because it's set in the Kanto Region of the original Generation 1 Pokemon games, and I've had a pretty good time incorporating things from the original games into the story. Truth be told, some years I get a little nostalgic for the old Gen. 1 Pokemon games around this time of year. I actually got my Blue Version game at Christmas. Well, actually it was more like a day or so after Thanksgiving, but that was back during a time when my grandparents lived out of state and my family just went ahead and had an early Christmas with them right after Thanksgiving to avoid making two trips. But it was also usually around Christmas when I made some major breakthroughs with the game (I was a kid, and for awhile those old Pokemon games were difficult for me to beat). Plus at one Christmas I got a VHS copy of Pokemon: Mewtwo Returns, so I do sometimes draw connections between Pokemon and Christmas.

On that note, it seems that Christmas is only just a few short days away. It never ceases to amaze me how at the beginning of the month Christmas seems so far off, and then suddenly it kind of sneaks up on everyone. I'm just glad that this year I got all my Christmas shopping done at the beginning of the month. Of course I'm never going back to that one used CD store if I can avoid it. I was trying to by some CDs for my dad, but there was only one guy at the register and just as he was about to check me out he suddenly started helping with this one family that had apparently been waiting for hours. That store either needs more employees or a serious lesson in costumer service.

That pretty much does it for this post. Until next time.
