The Changing Channel

Ladies and gentlemen, Styx.

Hello again everyone. I hope everybody's been having a good Saturday so far. This might be a notable Saturday for some, because this was the very last morning of the CW's Vortex lineup. Starting next Saturday it's going to be replaced with the new One Magnificent Morning lineup. In case anyone hasn't figured it out yet, that lineup isn't going to contain any kind of animated show period. Instead it's a whole morning of shows that at one time might've been found on networks like Animal Planet, or the Discover Channel or even TLC, also known as the Learning Channel. Back when those networks actually ran shows with education value. Let's face it, TLC can't really be called The Learning Channel anymore. Just like how A&E can no longer be called Arts & Entertainment.

Anyway, I guess I'm not too broken up about the loss of the Vortex lineup. Pretty much everything on that lineup has been in reruns for a long time now, and I'd only watch like the last two hours of it. As far as the fate of some of those shows go, I believe the dub of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL has been running on that Nickelodeon offshoot, Nicktoons. Dragon Ball Z Kai should be premiering on Toonami sometime in the near future in an uncensored form. The original Yu-Gi-Oh! has been over for ages, and I don't really give a crap about that Digimon Fusion series. The manga was interesting, but that whole Fusion/Xros Wars series is a disgrace to the Digimon franchise.

Still, it is a little sad that the Vortex lineup has gone away. It's sort of like when Toonami stopped running InuYasha not too long ago. I mean that show was in reruns for years and it was being run at like 4:00 AM, but it was still a nice show to have on. Plus with Vortex gone, I now have a large sucking entertainment void in my Saturday mornings. Seriously, what the heck am I gonna watch now during that time? This also means that I no longer have any reason to watch the CW. Before this week, the only reason I'd watch that network was for the one rerun of The Simpsons that would air weekdays at 5:00 PM. But now those reruns have been replaced by a gameshow.

Ah well. I guess that's just the way life goes sometimes. T.V. networks change and shows get replaced. Anyway, there's not much else to report I guess other than the bit of news that we had to replace the water heater at my house yesterday. The old one broke down the day before, and that night I ended up taking a cold shower, an experience that was much colder than I expected. Plus it couldn't really be called a shower. For some reason I couldn't really turn the water up very high.

That's about it for this post. Until next time.
