Don't Know When To Stop

Ladies and gentlemen, The Eagles.

If there's one thing I've learned since I got into writing, it's that I don't really know when to stop writing. This afternoon I worked on another chapter of my current fanfic. Going into it, I assumed that it would take me two days to finish this particular chapter. But then it got to be about 4:00 and I noticed that I was almost done with it. So I decided to just keep going. Didn't get the chapter finished until about 8:00. Then it took another fifteen to twenty minutes to get it up on FanFiction.Net. I didn't eat dinner until about 8:45 (partly because it took me a few minutes to put my salad together and I had to wait until my dad was done in the kitchen).

Now I'll admit that I've had a few time management problems in the past. But a thing like writing is hard to do within a set timeframe. Some things take longer to write than others. A big factor in that how long whatever is being written is. For example, the chapter I worked on tonight had a lot of backstory in it. I've noticed that those kind of chapters take the longest to write. But really, I've found it a little hard to predict how long each piece of writing is going to take me. Another factor is that I'm one of those people who throws himself into his work. When I'm writing or working on a wallpaper, I don't really notice how much time passes.

So that's about it. Just making an observation about myself. I hope everyone else has had a good day today.
