Birthday 2013 - Thanks :)

I'd like to thank everyone here on TheO who wished me a happy birthday, whether it was just signing my guestbook, sending me a gift, dedicating a piece of artwork to me, or all of the above. It really meant a lot. This year's birthday was pretty good, if not a little awkward in places. For one thing my birthday fell on Super Bowl Sunday this year (and before anyone asks, I hate football). Not only that, my dad has been out of town this weekend. Still, things went pretty well.

The day before my birthday I went out of town with my aunt to do a little shopping. A big item on my list was the ninth volume of the Sailor Moon manga, which I had to go to two bookstores to find. Things were so much easier before Borders shut down. But the important thing is I got my hands on the thing. Then my aunt and I had some lunch, where I received a little gift in the form of some cash.

On my actual birthday, my aunt and I went out to lunch again, this time at a small diner just a few miles out of town. Not the best place to eat, but they do have good burgers. Then we went to this nearby part to look for bald eagles (which sadly we found none). After that, I got some cupcakes. Once my aunt had left, I decided to go out and spend a little of the birthday cash I had gotten the previous day of some Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG booster packs, thinking that I might get lucky. And as it turned out, I did. I had finally found a card that I had been searching just about a year for, Number C39: Utopia Ray. I had been needing that card for one of my decks, and it was the search for it that ended up turning me off getting cards for a few months.

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. I just spent an evening at home watching a couple of movies. The original Karate Kid and Karate Kid Part II, which I think is better than the original. All in all, it was a good birthday. So again, thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. To close this post, here's the theme song to Karate Kid Part II. Enjoy
