Hello there. Welcome to my world of Random Thoughts. In this world I’ll be posting stuff about anime and manga. Not to mention various other topics. I may post the occasional music video every now and than. And from time to time, I’ll just talk about my life in general. But first, here are a few things about me.

I was born an only child, for one thing. Originally I was planning to go into art professionally, but recently I’ve been more inclined towards writing. I still do the occasional wallpaper every now and then though, and I also still draw a little. But much of my energy these days goes into writing fan fiction. I’ve also recently become interested in archive and library work, which is something I’ve discovered I’m good at. Finally, like most people on the Internet, I like cats.

That’s pretty much all you need to know about me. I'm not sure how often I'll post something here, but I'll try to as often as I can. In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy visiting.

Sunday Anime Comics

Hello all. I just wanted to share a rather jumbled dream fragment I had last night. In the dream, I was reading the comics from the Sunday paper, and for some reason Selena from Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V was "guest starring" in a number of the comic strips. I can't remember any specific details about any of the strips other than this one panel where Selena seemed nauseated by something she was seeing on the T.V. There was also a comic strip for the classic anime series, Slayers for some reason. That would be kind of cool if there was, actually.

On a separate note, I just ran across this rather interesting article on the Anime News Network regarding the first Pokemon movie. You can read it by clicking on the link below.

The one thing about the above article that really stuck out to me was the point about how the first few Pokemon movies had some pretty deep themes going on in them. Now all of the Pokemon movies are pretty much just Godzilla movies aimed at little kids.

This concludes this random post about nothing.

The Dilemma

Hello again, everyone. I'd like to thank those of you who commented on one of my previous posts about what I could've done better with my Fan Artist Want Ad challenge. Most of you who commented said that I was probably too specific with the requirements. I can see that being a major flaw with the challenge. Most artists would rather do something on a vision of their own instead of a vision I provide them with.

Here's the rub though where a challenge like this is concerned. The main point of the challenge was to create an artwork that I could use for a wallpaper that I had a rather specific idea for. Some of the small details were open to interpretation, but in the end all the entries for the challenge were made to satisfy that specific vision. All that being said, I'm very doubtful that another challenge like the Fan Artist Want Ad challenge could ever truly. It's not anybody's fault, it's just the way it is. I just wanted to share this little conclusion.

A Question to TheO

Greetings, good people of TheO. I have a question for everyone, and I'd like to ask it while I still have a working Internet connection (mine seems to go down infrequently at this time of the year, for some reason). Some of you reading may recall that I tried doing a fan art challenge called Fan Artist Want Ad, and that challenge ended up being one big goose egg. The idea was for those who entered to come up with a piece of artwork that I could use for a wallpaper. So my question is this. Should I try a similar fan art challenge here in the near future?

Also (and this goes out to anyone who I either invited to the challenge or simply thought about entering it), what was the reason why you didn't enter? Did I make the challenge too hard to do, or was there some other reason? If anyone reading doesn't wish to answer that, that's fine. I'm just curious to know so I can maybe improve on the second challenge, should I decide to do one. Thank you all for your time.

EPIC FAIL!

Hello everyone. Well, I regret to report that my Fan Artist Wanted fan art challenge has just ended. And not a single person entered. I don't know if I made it too hard of a challenge to do or what, but this is obviously a huge disappointment for me. This was a noble experiment that just didn't make it for whatever reason. I suppose I could try a similar challenge with something much simpler, but I'm not really up for that at the moment. Maybe I'll try in a month or so. Until next time, I guess.
