The Travel to the Lost Ruins

The promised story for a friend and a good tale for another one .

So it was time to gather the gear and make the last checks on the team. We will soon be ready for the trip and this was our last night at the civilization. And so we three went to have our last tour on the last glimpse of civilization .The ancient civilizations of south America had always marveled me. They are so full of mysteries and since all the team was interested in going we couldn’t miss the chance.

On the team was Professor Douglas ,the smart man and versed in many languages and knowledge. He was the kind of man always carrying a book and even he liked mathematics because he always had an algebra textbook with him .Th Professor Douglas was also very fond of the sounds of nature and communication .The professor always carried a tool shaped like a foghorn that worked more like a some sort of ocarina .If you got lost on the forest you better have a method to communicate.

Then was the good mood wide bone Chuba . He will never agree he was fat he will say all the time that he was 90 kg of muscles. Chu always had a good laugh every time we hear him speak about his great muscles and raw stenght .The kind of person you will be friend of till the end of time .Always carrying all sorts of junk food and banana twinkies. Always full with toys and funny artifacts like a yoyo to make the travel a lot more funny.

And then at last but not least ,me the intrepid Daianha .Always ready to seek a new adventure .I was very skilled in survival techniques and using my crossbow to defend of will creatures .Of course my dragon pendant always kept me safe from danger .

So at our last night we went to have dinner in one of the most weird places of the city. It was called the “The food Marvels Mix“.It was some kind of weird 3 in 1 restaurant where depending your table you will have a different look and you could ask for 3 types of different food styles.

When we finally arrived the place decoration was really extravagant .It changed depending on where you were looking .At the first area there was a plant decoration with some neon flamingos and pink ballons .At the other side a more verged oriental style with all these chefs making sushi using makisu (the wooden tool to roll sushi). At the third place a more “American” style with a half cut 1981 Delorian replica coming out of the wall.

So we sat on the Hawaii style zone because it was Chuba´s favorite area (after all he was the one to invite us to the place) . The Hawaii Five-0 Theme Song was playing softly on that area so it wouldn’t break the balance of the three areas. The beauty of this place was that all the dishes will go well with the dishes of the other areas. You could even ask for combined plates to taste three kinds of food in the same plate. The hamburgers where small but went well with the sushi and the Hawaii “lomi lomi” that was probably a modified version of the original .We really had a great feast and we could see all the tables with their own propane gas tank to lit the stoves.

So after having a feast we finally headed back to the hotel. One lest check to the equipment and I went to sleep. Chu stayed a bit more with the professor to make the last plans for the trip. The last sounds before I fall sleep where the Toilet plunger sounds at the other room. Finally I left my tired body to take me into Morpheus place.

At the next day we left early into the jungle ,it was still dark and the sun didn’t showed up until two hours. Walking should take us three or four days for maximum to take us to the ruins. Chu had fun telling us about the natives cannibalism at the times of war and hunger .The professor didn’t say anything but I knew some deep chills froze his words at the attempt to look fearless .Using the map we walked until loosing sight of the town.

The last items of civilization where a Left shoe , a Broken umbrella ,a very rusty Soda bottle cap, and a Quart bottle of liquid latex that Chu had fun in breaking more .After that the endless jungle and our rally point at some sort of camp site with people and some guides that went to the jungle to harvest gum.

Finally after traveling for some hours and just taking small breaks to eat and rest we reached a clear .It was getting very dark so we three agreed to set out our camp site .At the middle of the night there was a little rain with no big trouble .I always pick high ground for setting the camps .We had to eat our food cold because e couldn’t lit a fire that night.

At the next day we lifted the camp tent and took off at the first light. Not after walking for more than twenty minutes I hear a breaking noise over my head. A big log fall in that second and it was just over my head. Chu quickly pulled me out of the way in a fast move that made me drop my backpack. When the log felt at the distance of one human arm I could hear the branches breaking with the contact of the ground. Thanking Chu I quickly went to check the damages on the backpack and saw a branch that pierced it. The map was damaged , a hole on the tent and the dented compass that was still usefull . The bad news where that I couldn’t see very well now the Ruins and the town location. But I knew the south road will cross them both so there were no worries.
I was just hoping for the jungle to give us a good trip.
