Can't Wait to Move!! And My Trip to Santa Barbara

I wasn't too enthusiastic about moving away these last few weeks because I started worrying about who my roommate was and what they'd be like. Well, today she called me, I didn't call her myself because my move-in packet didn't list her number, and all my fears disappeared! She sounds like a friendly person and, best of all, she loves anime >D!!

Haha, at first the conversation was a bit awkward, so we just asked those scripted questions you ask when you don't really know the person you're talking (hometown, majors, how was your summer...) I asked her if she planned on joining any clubs and she said she had a couple in mind, then when she asked me I told her I planned on joining the Anime Club she totally brightened up and started asking me what I watch, if I attend conventions, if I cosplay, etc. We both started talking nonstop and even decided to split the cost of a mini-fridge and join the Anime Club together, lol. I'll be bringing a TV to hook up our computers to watch our shows ^-^ And that Ouran wall scroll I got won't be lonely since she said she's bringing all her posters. I have a feeling I'm going to love this first year~!

I went to Santa Barbara yesterday to straighten up the financial aid issues. After that, we went to Costco (my mom wanted to take advantage of the lower sales tax). Once that was done, we drove down Hollister Ave until it turned into State St. which took us right through Downtown Santa Barbara and ended at the pier/harbor. The scenery was beautiful! All of the buildings down State St. were either Spanish style or Mediterranean. There were plenty of stores to shop in whenever I need something. Everything was so clean!!! Unlike certain parts of Los Angeles >.> The pier was wonderful even though it didn't have any fancy rides like the one in nearby Santa Monica (which I never ride in the first place), but the restaurants and shops had this seaside cottage/home feel. The beach was calm and clean. I felt bad that while I was having fun in Santa Barbara my sister was stuck in school, so I convinced my parents to take us this weekend.

We passed by the Camarillo Outlet Mall on our way back and came back with loads of stuff. I got an awesome Twilight Zone Tower of Terror "I Survived!" shirt for a lot less than it would of cost me at California Adventure ^-^
