Summer...and Engineering

I guess summer decided that since it was so pleasant at the beginning that it should turn hellish towards the end.

What's worse is that it seems my mom has forgotten she's lived in California for 20+ years and wants to make me use every and any sun-proof gear out there for the short walk to my sister's school -.- All I need is a pair of sunglasses and sunblock and I'll be fine (I can even go without the sunblock and get back home with no sunburn), but she wants me to use an umbrella (I rarely use them, even when it rains), wear a long sleeve, apply pounds of sunscreen, wear a hat etc, etc...I mean, we spent about three days in the Florida sun during Spring Break without sunscreen thanks again LAX security >.> and didn't have any problems.

I decided to run away from the engineering field thanks to physics, yet I can't really seem to fully escape it. My sister told me about this science project she has to do (create some sort of new invention or innovation, make a working model...) and, of course she asks me for help because those were the sort of projects I had to do all through high school. I had no ideas at first, partly because I had no ideas and partly because I was trying to force my brain to stop thinking like an engineer, but now I've had a rush of ideas and can't wait to help. I'm horrible at figuring out how to make things work in a mathematical and scientific sense, but I'm good at coming up with ideas and successfully getting them to work more like forcing, really through trial and error, and by actually building the object rather than working it out on paper...
