Hi and Welcome!
This is just a world for me to post a bit about me and anything I find interesting.
Favorite Anime/Manga: Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, DuRaRaRa!!, Soul Eater, Hetalia, Code Geass, Death Note, Pokemon, Tsubasa, xxxHolic, Fruits Basket, Big Windup!, Eden of the East, Clannad, D. Gray-man, Blue Exorcist, Ouran High School Host Club, Black Butler, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama!, K-ON!, Bakuman, Cardcaptor Sakura
Favorite Video Games: I mostly play RPGs, my all time favorite is Kingdom Hearts (the whole series). I also like Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Pokemon games :D, Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, some racing games and baseball or soccer games, Assassin's Creed
Music: I'll listen to anything as long as I like it. I usually listen to J-Rock, J-Pop, Alternative and Punk, Spanish Rock, Classical and some Pop...the list goes on...
Sports: I love baseball and soccer
I had to wake up way too early for someone on break (7:45) because my mom forgot her keys at my aunt's apartment. She brought my little cousin to babysit, so that killed any chances of me going back to sleep, but that didn't stop her from getting more sleep. If I had gone to sleep earlier I wouldn't feel so tired, but I stayed up late watching D. Gray-Man (which I probably shouldn't have done considering how depressing the last episode I watched for the night was T.T) and after I stopped watching for the night I had trouble falling asleep because of the heat.
*mini rant* I turned the TV on for my cousin mostly because I didn't feel like playing with him. I didn't realize how dull the scarce kids cartoons are now until this morning; I remember KCET actually aired decent cartoons before (Arthur was the best). Now I realize why my cousin would rather go and create a mess in the apartment to gather every single toy car in the place rather than watch. The animation lacks fluidity, the characters all looked stiff, and weren't very interesting. I couldn't take much more so I turned off the TV (he didn't mind, he had already piled up about 20 or so cars on the coffee table) and started reading Pandora Hearts. I miss the days when I could turn on the TV and find Arthur on one channel, Pokemon on the other and the House of Mouse on a third; I think I just miss finding anything entertaining on local TV
don't have cable in general. I think I'm going to play the DuckTales DVDs I have for him next time he comes.
I finally received my room assignment! I'm on the 7th floor (that elevator better not breakdown) and am sharing with one other person (yay for no triple~!). They send you your roommate's first name and number. My roommate apparently has no number so...yeah, I won't be contacting them. The adjoining room is a triple, so in total, 5 people are sharing the bathroom...
I guess summer decided that since it was so pleasant at the beginning that it should turn hellish towards the end.
What's worse is that it seems my mom has forgotten she's lived in California for 20+ years and wants to make me use every and any sun-proof gear out there for the short walk to my sister's school -.- All I need is a pair of sunglasses and sunblock and I'll be fine (I can even go without the sunblock and get back home with no sunburn), but she wants me to use an umbrella (I rarely use them, even when it rains), wear a long sleeve, apply pounds of sunscreen, wear a hat etc, etc...I mean, we spent about three days in the Florida sun during Spring Break without sunscreen
thanks again LAX security >.> and didn't have any problems.
I decided to run away from the engineering field thanks to physics, yet I can't really seem to fully escape it. My sister told me about this science project she has to do (create some sort of new invention or innovation, make a working model...) and, of course she asks me for help because those were the sort of projects I had to do all through high school. I had no ideas at first, partly because I had no ideas and partly because I was trying to force my brain to stop thinking like an engineer, but now I've had a rush of ideas and can't wait to help. I'm horrible at figuring out how to make things work in a mathematical and scientific sense, but I'm good at coming up with ideas and successfully getting them to work
more like forcing, really through trial and error, and by actually building the object rather than working it out on paper...
I received UCSB's newspaper today, and there was an ad offering jobs at the paper and I really want to apply. I'll definitely be attending the meeting to get more details...maybe I can write articles or design the layouts. It sounds so much better than the dinning commons job.
On Sunday, I finally got some more manga, only to finish it within the day >.> I bought D. Gray-Man volumes 2-5 and they were so good I couldn't stop reading. Well, that and the fact that I needed something to do while babysitting my little cousin
he's adorable, but has his demonic moments. I'll have to get more volumes soon. I can't wait to get to volume 20 Kanda looks awesome on that cover
Apparently I've been hired for the job at UCSB, so I get to move-in early...it's only like three days earlier, but at least I won't have to deal with traffic. And the sooner I start working, the faster I get paid. I still don't know what position I'm getting, but I still stand by my previous statement: if it's a cleaning job, I'm turning around and looking for a job in the nearby city...I may be acting like a bit of a snob, but it's for their own good, they do not want me cleaning unless they want Goofy-type mishaps to occur (I can be very clumsy) Other than that, I can't wait to move in early. If the person set to be my roommate isn't moving in early too, it means I get to claim my space.
I'll be setting aside parts of my paychecks for various things (though I already know about $30 of my first paycheck is going towards manga), that way, I can start saving up for things I want to buy, and I can assess how much self-control I have when dealing with money. I just checked registration prices for AM^2 Con in Anaheim, and their prices are much more comfortable than AX (their Premium Pass is $20 less than AX's General Attendee Pass), so, I'll be saving up for AX, but if I don't make it, I'll just buy me and my sister passes to AM^2 and have a bit of spending money. I might even apply to be staff at either con, but in that case I'll have to get my sister to convince one of her friends to go so she won't be lonely and I'll have to get one, or more, of my responsible friends to look after them...
Now I'm off to listen to Doubt & Trust (3rd D. Gray-Man Opening Song) for like the 100th time today
