Clannad Season 1 Review

Clannad is an exciting mixture of drama, romance, and comedy. As soon as Fuko came into the story, I was hooked. It's like reading a good book that you absolutely CAN'T put down. You just keep watching... and watching... And before you know it, it's over. Then you mentally prepare yourself for season 2.
I love the characters in this anime. La la la loveeee. Fuko was my favorite, by far. She doesn't have a main role, but she's SO FRICKIN ADORABLE. Honestly, I don't particularly like Nagisa. She's just a bit too plain for my liking. Then of course there's the whole Tomoya/Nagisa deal which is actually pretty adorable. Sadly, they never go into detail about Tomoya's dad in the first season. But Nagisa and Tomoya end up together, which is quite the happy ending to the first season. The extra episode at the end with Tomoyo and Tomoya was just plain annoying. It just kept dragging on and on about how Tomoya was nothing but a distraction to Tomoyo. Then in the end it's all like "The sakura trees are saved! I love you!"
Overall, I really enjoy this series. Although there are many positive views to the series, some of the sub plots went on too long. It got a little boring. I've heard that there's more drama in the 2nd season, so I'm crossing my fingers! :P

Kannazuki no Miko Review T_T

I just finished watching Kannazuki no Miko... Dang. I haven't had an anime make me cry like that in sooo long. By far one of my favorites. The beginning was a little confusing to me. Half the first episode gave the impression that it was some normal high school girl anime, the last half gave me the impression that it was gonna be hella weird. Getting used to it isn't that hard, honestly. That twist right in the middle of the series made me not want to go any further, but I'm glad I did. As much as I hated the dark Chikane and the depressed Himeko, it was definitely worth bearing through for a couple of episodes. The ending spurred so many emotions. I was upset that Chikane's existence had to go bye-bye but it was incredibly sweet when they were spilling their guts out to each other. Not literally, of course... Well, kinda...

What a lot of animes share in common is a crappy ending, and obviously this isn't one of them. The ending for Kannazuki no Miko was PERFECT.

While it was a great anime that I would recommend, there were a few things that got on my nerves. Himeko was ALWAYS crying over something. We didn't hear much about this ex-roommate of Himeko's. Chikane joined the Orochi. Oogami is just hopeless. "I will do anything to protect my Himeko!" Chyeah right. That curse should have swallowed him up long ago. So yeah. That's basically all that bothered me.

All in all, I would rate this anime a 9/10.

Yakitate!! Japan episodes 48 & 49 T.T

ep. 48
Pierrot was playing mind games with Kawachi. He turned into a midget named Conan and pestered Kawachi about how his name was not Conan. Long story short, Kawachi yells "Kodaimai miso!" and Conan turns back into Pierrot. He gets dizzy and spins around to reveal a dagger thrust into his back. As Kawachi held him in his arms, and after another play on words having to do with "Victor, Me, and Ed" Kawachi realized that he had made the victory bread. An ambulance takes him away.

ep. 49
Old... I mean Mister Pierrot nearly dies in this episode. But his long lost father, who is coincidentally the king of Monaco, gives him a blood transfusion. Pierrot has Bombay blood, which means that he can't receive any blood from any other blood type. Bombay blood is very rare, and is possessed by only hundreds of people around the world. The king of Monaco turns out to have this rare type of blood. He gave Pierrot enough of his own blood so that the king would die and Pierrot would live.

They met in heaven and discovered that they were father and son. Pierrot disappears from heaven and returns to earth saddened because he didn't have much of a chance to get to know his father. Azuma pledges to make him Japan #44, good enough to send someone to heaven. But there's a twist. Azuma is missing a key ingredient so he needs to find an even better substitute in order to go to heaven.

I had no idea that Yakitate!! Japan would get so sad... T.T

I rarely cry during sad parts in anime. The last anime that made me cry was AIR. And it wasn't even during the saddest part. (The ending, of course)

Hopefully I'll be making more posts soon.

Ciao!

Extended Intro~

Hi My name is Ruth and this is the first time that I've attempted to start a blog of any sort. So if you have any advice, I would really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

In this blog, or maybe I should call it a "world"... (It's all just terminology, eh?) I'll be writing about anime/manga and maybe post fan art. I honestly don't think of myself as much of an artist. I'm thinking that most of what I post here will be reviews.

I started watching anime when I was 10 years old. It was the classic stuff at first. You know, the typical Hamtaro, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto, and One Piece. It was all the stuff that you spent late nights watching Toonami for. Well, maybe not the first three. Hamtaro was early morning, then Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh were afternoon-ish... I started reading manga when I was 11 or 12. I started with Fruits Basket and Tokyo Mew Mew. My cousin, who is 3 years younger than me started with Death Note. A 9 year old reading Death Note, imagine that... *facepalm* So I read Death Note after him. It would come on TV at midnight, so we recorded it and then watched it in the morning. Blah, blah, blah... I'm just rambling now. I guess this paragraph is a bit meaningless. Sorry.

Anywhooo~
I gotta start thinking about going to sleep soon. Sooo thank you, I guess.
