Currently Listening: TiK ToK by Ke$ha

Ok, this song is such a guilty pleasure, lol. I hate the lyrics, because they're completely materialistic and lack any depth, but the beat has got me hooked to this song! I'm also pretty sure she'd be an awful live singers, because the use of auto-tune is blatantly obvious. Even still, I can't stop listening! OMG.

1. Ok so the Owl City concert was a dream come true. For one thing, I saw ticket prices the week before were no less than $100, and my mom still ordered them. It's funny, because 2 weeks before the concert, she was like, "well we'll just have to catch him next year" and "we can't afford to spend $200 on tickets." :) I love my mommyyyyy.
So. Mom and I got to pass the line because we ate at the HoB restaurant. When we got in the concert hall, I made a bee-line for the stage and ended up standing front and center (I was probably the 7th person to enter the room). I met a couple of cool cats next to me, and we gabbled about how excited we were and how we wanted to touch the keyboards and touch Adam Young's hand, etc.
When the concert actually started, Brooke Waggoner came out and blew me away with her talent on the piano. That girl has got some nimble fingers! :) So she played a few songs, then started packing up her stuff. While she was packing, it was so cool because she would talk to us at the front (though it was kind of embarrassing because the girls next to me didn't know her name, and asked her).
Then the Scene Aesthetic came out, and while they were setting up, they talked to us and let people hold their guitars. They posed for pictures, let the girls take pictures with their guitars and them, and then started playing. I've listened to some of their stuff on iTunes, and I have to say I think they're even better live. :)
Halfway through their performance, they let a guy come up, and he proposed to his girlfriend on stage!! She accepted, and we saw that she was crying for a good majority of the concert, because she was so happy. It was so adorable. :)))))
Then, Adam Young made and explosive entrance with Cave In, and kept singing back to back to back. It turns out, though, that he was sick. :( I felt awful for him, having to get up and sing for an hour and a half straight, but it looked like he was having some fun with it, at least. :) He ended up taking off both of his shoes and going barefoot, which I thought was hilarious! He was really really really really great. I just wish I could have gotten an autograph!

So yeah. This concert totally made my life, and I'm counting down the minutes until he swings back here to Dallas!!

2. In other music news, my favorite band ever, Copeland, broke up on the same day as the concert. :((((( I was about to break down and cry, but then I read on their site that they may be planning one last record before they go their separate ways. That and that they want to do a farewell tour across the states. I'm praying to God that they stop by Dallas!!! :)

3. I can't stop listening to Owl City and Copeland. I think I have a problem, lol.

4. I want to upload pieces from my Concentration in AP Art, which is 12 pieces following one of Marcelline's adventures, but I don't know if I can.... not to sound conceited, but I think they're freaking amazing and I want to show the world! But try I'll restrain myself until I submit my portfolio. AHHHHH I WANT TO SHOW YOU GUYS!!!

5. Borderlands is a freaking sweet game, seriously. My sister and I are playing co-op (she's Roland, and I'm Lilith), and we're having a total blast with it! Our favorite thing is challenging each other to duels (Taylor demands satisfaction from mintgirl13!), just so my character can lose and so we can hear her scream. It's freaking hilarious. Sad thing is that we can only play when Chelsea is here, but she doesn't come back until Thanksgiving. :/

I'm so ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas. But first, homework! Bye!

Currently Listening: Buck Up, They're Coming by Weaver at the Loom

I love these guys. It's a shame that they only have one album though. :( Every one of their songs is absolutely fantastic, in my opinion.

1. Hi!

2. School's going well; I have all As and the homework load is getting more manageable, even if I'm still doing 3-4 hours of it every night. Better than some whiners at school; people claim they're staying up until 2AM doing homework. My deduction? Either they're rotten liars or they have no sense of time management, AKA "procrastinating". I sure do hate liars, but even more so I hate exaggerators. It drives me absolutely nuts to hear how long someone worked on some piece of homework. "OMG IT WAS SO HARD FFF IT TOOK ME 8 HOURS." Yeah. Right.

4. I don't know where that mini-rant came from lol. I could go for miles on that subject, though. Sorry about that.

5. This Thursday is going to be the best day of my year - heck, it's going to be the best day of my life. My mom, the blessed saint she is, ordered she and I last-minute tickets to the Owl City concert at the House of Blues in Dallas. :)))))))))))))) You guys have absolutely NO IDEA how much this means to me; last week, all I could get out of her was a "No way" because ticket prices were through the roof. Yesterday, she texted me and asked "Want to go see Owl City?" and I replied, of course, "Yes!" Today, she said that if I cleaned my side of the computer area, she'd take me to see it (though she already had non-refundable tickets ordered, lol. My mom's the best. Plus, she's an Owl City fan!!! :) I turned her on to it a while ago when I made her listen to Rainbow Veins; she said it was a lot more wholesome than my sister's choice of music (hardcore rap, which is good in small doses), haha.

6. Owl City is the best. I bet by now most of you should have heard of him, seeing as how he's #1 on iTunes. Fireflies isn't his best song, though, in my opinion. My favorites are Rainbow Veins, Sky Diver, Hot Air Balloon, Captains and Cruise Ships, and Sunburn. :) The only thing I don't like is the attention he's getting. :/ Before June, when he got Single of the Week, only 2 of my friends knew who he was and liked his music. Now, I accidentally let my friend Lauren loose on his music, and she serenades Fireflies and Sunburn to everyone who walks by her. She and about 20 other people I know are absolutely crazy over him since he's gotten attention. I miss my little secret..

7. At least no one knows about his other bands! :) But I'll let you guys know, because you're fantastic people: Swimming With Dolphins, Port Blue, Seagull Orchestra (he's not in it, but is involved), Insect Airport, Dolphin Park, and Windsor Airlift. My favorite songs from each are Sunset, 1989 (SWD), At Anchor (PB), In Flight and Sailboats (SO), Strawberry (IA), Hello Enchanted Evening (DP), and Landscapes (WA).

8. I like spacescapes!! They're very fun. Hard to get started, but once you're a good half-hour in, then it gets ridiculously fun.

9. Homecoming ended up being great. I didn't spend much time with my date because he was in band during the football game, but we met up later at the dance. Instead of dancing, though, we sat and talked with a bunch of friends, which was much more fun than any dancing we could have done! :) This week is Red Ribbon Week - otherwise known as Drug Free Week! Themed days, ahoy!

10. Goodnight, everyone. Or Good day, if you're on the other half of the world. :)

Currently Listening: Freeze by T-Pain and Chris Brown

I've been waiting all night to see you dance like me. Dude, have you guys played with I Am T-Pain on the iPhone? IT'S FREAKING SICK. My sister and I love it. Now we both sound like Kanye West! Label, please?

1. Homecoming is this Friday!! I'm really really excited to see all my friends. :) The only problem? The guy who asked me is being a total nutjob, and weirding me out. He's exceedingly clingy, flips out if I don't say "Hi" to him, and even called me an "angel" on Facebook. On my Wall. People think it's funny, but it's not; we're just friends, or we're supposed to be at least. Nothing more. And, suddenly, he's asking if we want to go "not seriously", which I thought is how it has been this whole time. Obviously, he's getting the wrong impression.

2. The cornerstone of my high school career is today: National Portfolio Review day!!! :SSSSSS I am so freaking nervous, like I'm going to freeze (lol) up while talking to the college reps. Or, that they give me harsh crits and break my confidence. Our art teacher warned us that some colleges might be very harsh because they feel obligated to be, and that has been plaguing my conscience for a week now. :( Hopefully, all will go well, and there may even be some scholarship offers with it!

3. I found a new favorite band the other day, even though their CD came out in 2007 (I do not claim discovery this time). Weaver at the Loom is freaking legit. I have never bought an album and proceeded to listen to every song uninterrupted, but their music is just moving. I have never been so affected by the first listen. :) Check them out.

4. I don't know if I told y'all, but the book that I illustrated came out a few weeks ago. If you go to BarnesandNoble.com, search for "Safari Girls" and the book will be the first listed (It's by A. Faith Reyna). The pictures are outdated and printed kind of badly, but it would be totally amazing if you guys ordered a copy! We have to sell 5,000 books before the second can go into printing. We haven't started the 2nd yet, but we've caught the eye of several toy agencies. :) Here's to hoping it'll be big!

5. Baylor lost to the Sooners yesterday... but we'll get them next time!!! :)))))

6. We start our concentration in Art on Wednesday; mine is going to be 12 illustrations following the Marcelline storyline. Which means that by the end of this school year, I will have 12 illustrations to wrap up in book-form and publish!!!! So beware, guys: Marcelline may hit the shelves sometime late next year, if all goes well. :)

I'm leaving to NPR, so wish me luck! Lovessssssss <33333

Currently Listening: Not Kanye West!

Dude, he is such a dickhead. Poor Taylor... you just don't do that to someone in any situation, much less the VMAs!!! I know they do some crazy stuff on there, but humiliating a fellow artist is just unprofessional and wrong on so many levels. I'm going to be honest and admit that I will listen to his music, but not while the pot is still boiling. :( Instead, I'll fill the void with Taylor Swift (of course), and Stars of Track and Field and Glee!! Right now I'm actually listening to End of All Time by Stars of Track and Field. Gorgeous song. :) I especially love the beat when they start clapping!

1. Feeling so much better than last week. Again, thanks so so so so much for the kind wishes, guys. We all miss Nikki, but we've just been joking about what she would expect of us.... she'd probably want us to stop crying and spill something de-licious on the floor so she could lick it up. :) We all miss her, but are looking to brighter days.

2. My new schtick is Auto Tune The News on Youtube. Totally hilarious, but educational and pertaining to current events at the same time! My favorites are #4, 6, 7, and 8. :) When an angry gorilla cries, who's gonna be there to dry his eyes?

3. AP Art is a really good stress reliever.. right now I'm doing a piece in Prismas, and it's turning out really good. :) After I turn it in, I'll see if I can get it back asap so I can scan it and show y'all!! I'm actually proud of a traditional piece, lol!

4. Took my cat to the vet today because she's got a drooling problem, a possibility of worms, and a voicebox with no "off" button. :) Turn's out she does have worms (benign), she's just very talkative, and she drools because she's happy. So no worries there... she's all checked out and perfectly fine, thankfully. :)))))

5. Going down to see Baylor's first homegame this weekend!!! Really really really excited. :)

So everything's good lately. Very hectic with all my assignments, but good nonetheless. :)

FML.

I honestly have to say that I don't care much for anything anymore. I don't like what I draw. I don't find solace in drawing, friends, tv, games, school or anything. Instead, I come home and feel like sleeping. I don't really know what it is. Maybe it's exhaustion. I think it's just me not caring.

I just slept for 13 hours straight, unprompted. I feel hostility toward everyone. Maybe I'm just depressed.

My dog, nikki, died yesterday. I want to know she's ok up in heaven, but I can't. I really want to tell her that we love and miss her and that we're sorry if we ever did anything wrong.

FML. Hope you have a better one as of late. Expect emo art, if any, in the next few weeks.
