A world dedicated to music.

I love rock, metal, and progressive, but you'll also hear classical, Big Band jazz, oldies, and anything else that tickles my ears.

Voltaire - God Thinks

I really like this song. Not just because it takes a shot at people who justify their bigotry and mean-spiritedness by invoking a higher power, but because its musically a really nice song. I enjoy Voltaire's warm vocals and the touch of violins.

Glenn Miller - In The Mood

Another of my favorite music genres is Big Band, jazz from the '30s and '40s. I spent a lot of time in the company of my grandparents as a small child, and this was their music, so I just picked it up. It also influenced me later on in playing the saxophone.

By far my favorite band leader is Glenn Miller, and "In The Mood" is considered his definitive piece.

Chopin - Military Polonaise

I love classical music, especially piano pieces. This has always been one of my favorites since I first heard it years ago on a CD. Unfortunately I'd lost the CD for some time and forgot the name of the song until a few days ago when I finally rediscovered it.

Threshold - Pilot in the Sky of Dreams (Radio Edit)

A song I've been addicted to lately, especially this shorter version. "Pilot in the Sky of Dreams" comes from Threshold's most recent album, Dead Reckoning (2007), and this edited version was used as the first single for promotion, cutting the song down to a third of its original length. Despite this, it still holds up; personally I think its tighter and punchier, but it still has the expansive and uplifting qualities that make it a great track. You know a band makes great music when they can edit an epic song down and it doesn't lose anything at all.

This edited version was later released on The Ravages of Time: The Best of Threshold and the direct-to-fans Paradox - The Singles Collection.

Radio Times: An Introduction

So, you may be wondering to yourself right now, "Radio Times? What the heck is this? Why has TC made a new world?" Well, the short answer is after always posting music on my regular world, I decided I wanted to created a dedicated place just for music posts. And this is it.

So from now on, I'll post music here, both new stuff and whatever I randomly fancy. And I'll try to cover all the genres I love; not just the progressive, power, and symphonic stuff, but also classical, Big Band, and oldies.

I hope everyone will stop in and listen to what I have to offer, because I always love to share my love of music. :)

(Bonus points for anyone who can guess the double-meaning of this world's name.)

EDIT:

OK, so here's the answer. Radio Times is the name of the BBC's weekly TV and radio listings magazine. And of course, because I'm TimeChaser and "Times" is also a nickname that's been used for me, and this is a music world (hence radio)... well, it was too good to resist. :P
