Christmas Music for Terrible People

Well, Christmastime is here again. I have a confession: I don't like Christmas. I mean, I like it, but I don't like all the fuss that everybody makes about it. I'm willing to admit it's a me problem, but the fact is I have absolutely zero Christmas spirit. Which is weird because I'm Catholic, so you'd think I'd be more into celebrating the birth of Jesus. True story, in high school one of my best friends was a bisexual pagan theater kid, and she liked Christmas about 900% more than me. Anyway, I can put up with most of the festivities despite my innate Grinch-ness, but I really really can't stand Christmas music. There are a handful of Christmas songs I like, but they're weird. So here's a playlist of Christmas music for people who hate Christmas music.

1) Nostalgia Critic-"I F-cking Love Christmas"

He's the Nostalgia Critic. He loves Christmas. 'Nuff said.

(And here's the version without flashing lights http://youtu.be/wNuRr9t4FBo )

2)The Pogues-"Fairy Tale of New York"

This is the dirtiest Christmas song I've ever heard. Gotta love the Pogues.

3) Bob Dylan-"Must Be Santa"

Can Bob Dylan be the new Santa Claus?

4) Johnny Cash-"Joy to the World"

Okay, I said I don't like Christmas music, but it's Johnny Cash. If he had released a record of himself singing fast food commercial jingles, I'd listen to it. (And if you can get your hands on a copy of Classic Christmas by Johnny Cash, you do it.)

5) Patrick Stewart with a hat

This one isn't a song, I want to share it with you because it's magical.

6) Star Trek-"Let It Snow"

Speaking of Patrick Stewart, here's Captain Picard singing Let It Snow. Sort of.

7) David Bowie and Bing Crosby-"Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth"

I just like hpw uncomfortable they both look in this video.

8) Action Aid: "Silent Night (Goat Edition) "

Goat Christmas music is a traditional in my family. For some reason.
(This is from a charity album called "All I Want for Christmas is a Goat", and the proceeds go to helping people living in poverty.)

9) Nick Lowe-"Christmas At The Airport"

Nick Lowe did a Christmas album a few years back. It's kind of awesome.

10) Mystery Science Theater 3000-"Let's Have a Patrick Swayze Christmas"

I saved the best for last. MST3K songs are awesome, and this one is a personal favorite of mine. Hey, no tradition like a new tradition!
