Yay! We're finally starting Project Japanese! XD
Welcome everyone, to Hiko, Michi and my Project Japanese. This World is here to teach everyone the language like no other website/Worlds can. XP
Since this is an introductory post, here's a little about the three of us and what we want to achieve through Project Japanese:
Project Japanese was started by Master Hiko through LICKETY SPLAT. Hiko wants to learn how to speak and write Japanese. ^^ I don't know how he came up with the idea, but he's been bugging me to teach Japanese here on TheO, so here it is!
If my memory's correct, Michiyo Shimizu was the first person to be recruited into this by Hiko. She's been studying Japanese for 3 years and wants to be a mangaka. Through Project Japanese, she wants people to learn a little more about the Japanese culture and its language and that using the words "baka", "kawaii" and "konnichiha" will not get them that far in Japan. *Michi is shot*
Once Hiko had caught the wild Michi-mod, I was the next on his list. What I want to achieve through Project Japanese is to make use of the things I'm learning at university. At the moment, I'm studying to become a professional Japanese-English translator. In this course, I've studied subjects like Linguistics, Bilingualism, Japanese Discourse, Sociolinguistics and Second Language Acquisition. Instead of just posting a list of text books and websites people can use to study Japanese, I'd like to use what I've learned for everyone's benefit.
I've looked at other websites and text books and honestly, I don't really like them. I think that with the three of us, Project Japanese can be far better than a lot of them. *whistles innocently*
I believe that the first and goal of Project Japanese, is to teach Japanese in the most interactive ways possible over the internet.
We've got quite a few ideas and with the support of everyone that visits this World, I hope that we can continue this for a very long time. ^^
Michi said that these ideas should be kept as a surprise. XP So I'll end this post here.
Thank you for visting and the Project Japanese Team hopes to see you all here again. ^^
