I heaved a huge sigh, wiped my forehead with the back of my hand, and whined, "It's so hot-nya..... we've been working soooo long out here!! T^T" I leaned back against a tree and surveyed everyone for a second. Lupe-sama, after making us clean up inside, had sent us all out here in the heat to do yard work. A few of us had been draining the pool dry in order to sweep all the leaves out and scrub the cement sides and bottom, Hoom and Moyasu were busy weeding the small garden that edged the side of the mansion, and Hon stood ready with a lawnmower to spruce up the grass.
Chii sauntered over to me and tweaked me behind the ear. "So says the lazy Nekoboy laying around in the shade," he laughed. "You've hardly done anything! Better keep working... you know how Lupe darling's temper can be!" He continued with a giggle, and went back to join Shola and Gale in scrubbing the pool.
Sighing again, I picked my bucket back up and went to gather more fallen pine cones and sticks from the lawn. Just then, I caught the aroma of something burning coming from an open window of the house. Lifting my nose up and sniffing, I set down the bucket and made my way over to the window, inadvertently stepping in the newly-weeded bit of garden that Hoom was working on. I curiously leaned over and stuck my head through the window. "What's burning-nyaaaaaa!!!!"
Apparently Lupe-sama had come up behind me and was dragging me away from the window by my tail, which really hurt... as I whimpered for her to let go, she yelled in her booming voice, "THIS PLACE ISN’T SPOTLESS YET! COME ON, PUT YOUR BACKS TO IT PEOPLE!! Nyarth, did I say you could take a break and go off exploring and being a cat?? Keep picking up the pine cones so Hon can get to cutting the grass already!" Then she finally let go of my tail. Thank Arceus!
Lowering my ears dejectedly, I trudged back to my bucket. It was about midday now, and the sun was making me sweat up a storm in my winter sweater... why did I ever put it on in the first place? I wondered incredulously. After struggling for a few moments to take it off, my back and chest were hit with the refreshing early-spring breeze and I gasped happily. "THAT'S better! =w=" I exclaimed, tossing the thick fabric to the side, underneath a nearby tree, and resumed my work.
The 8 of us continued working until late in the afternoon, but the yard finally passed Lupe's meticulous inspection and we were allowed to return inside to the much-needed air conditioning. I dashed back to my tree and snatched up my sweatshirt and then headed off to the boys' wing. I entered the bathroom, tossed the shirt in the hamper and then took a few minutes to relax in a much-needed cool shower.
When I was done, I got dressed back into my boxers and jeans, and then I just decided, there's nothing wrong with going shirtless, is there? So, clean and cool, I bounced off happily to the kitchen to grab some water, and was met by both the smell of burnt toast and Lupe's voice before I even walked through the door! Not wanting to have to work ANY more today, I shied away from the door and silently padded back to my room. Maybe I wouldn't get a drink now, but I believe there's a big, comfy bed calling me~!
When I got to the solace of my quarters, I threw myself on my bed, curled up on my side, and fell asleep within 5 minutes. =w=

Ok well, a lot of filler sentences to add length.. but I finally posted! I tried to include almost everyone who wasn't doing anything at the moment. Have fun, peeps! If anyone wants to visit Nyarth in his room and wake him from his catnap, it'll give me a fun opportunity to explore how annoyed and grumbly he gets when he is woken from a nap! >w< <3
