New Signature Z-Moves

Sorry for not posting this update mush earlier in the day, but I had kind of a rough morning that was so bad that it left me mentally drained for much of the afternoon. Anyway, another new trailer for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon games has been posted. This one mainly showcases a new signature move for the Necrozma forms, as well as new signature Z-Moves for both Necrozma forms as well. Take a look.

Here are some details about some of the stuff seen in the trailer, courtesy of both Bulbapedia and serebii.net.

  • The way that Necrozma's new signature move, Photon Geyser works is that it compares the users physical attack stat with its special attack stat, and uses whichever stat is higher to calculate the damage inflicted to the opponent. Basically, this move is sort of an adaptive attack designed to work with both of Necrozma's new forms. So when the Dusk Mane form of Necrozma based on Solgaleo uses Photon Geyser, its physical attack stat would be used to calculate the damage. Meanwhile the Dawn Wings form of Necrozma based on Lunala would use the user's special attack state for Photon Geyser's power. At the moment, it's unclear whether or not Necrozma can only use this attack in its two new forms, or if its basic form can use it as well.
  • Necrozma's two new Z-Moves, which use the signature moves of Solgaleo and Lunala as the base, both have the same effect of doing damage to the opponent while ignoring the effects of the opponent's special ability. As we've seen from the above trailer, the attack seems to work by having Necrozma pull the opponent into Ultra Space in order to finish it off. It should also be noted that both these Z-Moves can be used by Solgaleo and Lunala as well.
  • The other new game feature showcased in the trailer involves the Rotom Pokedex. In these new versions of the game, the player can communicate with the Rotom Dex more, causing its personality to develop more and more as it develops a bond with the player. By bonding with the Rotom Dex, the player becomes able to unlock more special features from it. The biggest of these features is the Z Rotom Power, which makes it possible to use Z-Moves two times during a battle instead of just once.

That's all there is to report for now. I'll be sure to post more news bulletins on these games as they come out.
