New Fairy Type Confirmed!

Hi everyone. Sorry for not updating this world lately. I just haven't really been able to get into Pokemon for the last couple of months. Anyway, there's a new trailer for Pokemon X and Y that pretty much speaks volumes.

There you have it. Fairy-type Pokemon have been confirmed to exist. Sylveon of course is going to be a pure Fairy-type, while Gardevoir will be a Psychic/Fairy-type, Marill will be a Water/Fairy-type, and Jigglypuff will of course be a Normal/Fairy-type. It's basically what happened with Magnemite and Magneton years ago when Generation Two came out years ago, but on a much greater scale. I imagine that Gardevoir, Marill, and Jigglypuff won't be the only Pokemon to have this type change (obviously it'll happen to Marill and Jigglypuff's respective evolved and pre-evolved forms as well). Now I know from reading various comments here on TheO probably aren't going to be too happy about this development. But look at it this way, now there will be more Pokemon that are effective against Dragons.

Of course the whole Fairy-type thing and the new game features aren't the only big news from this trailer. There's also the new Bat Pokemon, Nolvern, and a new Butterfly/Moth Pokemon called Vlvllon (I think that's the right spelling). The name of the attack Sylveon used in the trailer has also been revealed as Moonblast. Apparently it not only causes a lot of damage, it can lower the opponent's attack stat as well. That's pretty much all the news there is at the moment. I'll try and keep my eye out for more developments.

In the meantime, here's what serebii.net has on the Fariy-type so far.
