Look who’s kinda back??? >8D Miss him???
Included: Lux and Arc and mentions of Xio, Shupple, and the mansion.
-Lux-
My head was throbbing. It was so severe I could feel the blood vessels in my forehead pulsing. Lying on the ground I could feel my heartbeat pick up like it was about to come through my chest. I don’t recall what happened to me that caused this pain.
“It’s so cold…” I muttered to myself as I lay there on the wet and freezing cement. All I could hear was the wind from outside blowing by the barred up window nearby. The sun was sneaking in a bit but this place was relatively dark most of the time. I hate it, but I am grateful that I have a least a little sunlight. I can’t recall how long it has been since I last saw the sun out side. Has it been days or weeks?
I laid there on that bitter cement, my shirt did not exist anymore nor did my boots. The only thing I had on was what was left of my torn raggy pants. They were so filthy, covered in mud, dirt, sweat, and sadly my blood. This place was a hellhole.
I need to move and figure out what to do from here. My eyes felt swollen for I couldn’t see out of my left eye. The rest of my body felt numb, I couldn’t feel my arms, my legs, tail, hell I couldn’t even feel my own torso even though I knew each of my extensions was still attached. I let out a sigh and tried to concentrate my focus on moving my fingers, were they still there? How long had I been out?
It took some time struggling but I could feel the blood flow finally reach my fingers as they wiggled slightly. Next I tried moving my arms, which stung as I pushed myself up. Where was I again?
“Arc?” I called out. No answer. Only the echo of my voice in this prison, that’s right, I remember a little, after confronting Lily, something happened…what was it? Then I was dragged and tossed in here and the door slammed behind me. “Hey, Arc?” I barely was able to sit up as I tried to catch my breath, what the hell happened to me? My head hurts so badly and I can’t see worth shit out of my left eye.
Let’s try to remember…
The directions that Xio gave me were precise and accurate when it came to finding where Arc was going, the only problem…THE FUCKING BASTARD DIDN’T TELL ME IT WAS’T IN THIS REGION!! He probably did it on purpose too. I had been running for one week straight then had to hide my features when I took a boat to the get to the place I needed to be. The hard thing about being a gijinka, is trying to be human. Obviously some gijinkas have it easier then others. I have blue hair, which isn’t normal for humans, and red marks under my eyes that I describe to humans that I like tattoos and so forth. But it’s such a pain to hide my ears in my hair or wear them under a hat. It can be one of the biggest irritations out there. However, it wasn’t that long since the boat ride was a one-day thing so by the next morning, I escaped the people on the boat and made my run again.
All together it took me about 2 weeks on foot to make it to where Arc was. Obviously if he had met up with the girl that I heard about he probably was there within a day from when he left the mansion. First thing I’ll do when I see him is punching him in the face. Stupid idiot making Shupple cry like that! >8(
When I came to the mansion, it was by far more elaborate! I mean I couldn’t tell you how many acres they owned but there was a huge 25-30 foot wall surrounding the premises. For some humans it would be difficult to climb let alone get over without being caught. The sun had already set as I did a few rounds to see what I could muster for information. Using the power in my legs, I jumped all the way up on top of the wall and kept myself low. There were guards with flashlights walking the grounds. Let’s see…one…two….six….alright there is ten of them. This will be easy.
I’ve never broken into a building before, it wasn’t my style but I suppose I will make an exception. I won’t get caught nor will this go on my record. Jumping off the retaining wall and landing in some bushes one of the guards noticed the shaking of the bushes.
“Who’s there?” He asked as he approached.
Damn, there goes the thought of being caught!
“Come out with your hands up!” He said again as he approached.
Quick do something…umm…. “Meow! Meow! Meow!”
“Tch! Just a dumb cat…” He said as he turned around.
Dumb cat?!?! Grrr I’ll show you dumb. Putting my hand out of the bush, I used a small thundershock on him. He stood paralyzed for a moment as I grabbed him from behind covering his mouth before he could make a sound. “I’m a dumb cat am I? Well looks like I just out smarted you, damn guard dog.” I head butted him from behind causing him to black out. The guard immediately went limp as I dragged him into the bushes.
We had a similar build so I undressed him and tossed my own clothes on the side of him. Once I finished dressing, I tucked my tail in my pants and wrapped it around my leg. I grabbed his night glasses and put them on.
“Hey Greg are you alright over there?” I heard a guard ask from afar as he approached. I moved him deeper into the bushes and stepped out once he was within eyesight.
“Yeah I’m fine, just was dealing with a wild animal.” I assured him tilting my hat. These uniforms were to close to looking like police officers.
“Alright well we are changing shifts, time to head in.” He said turning towards the direction he came. I followed him without saying a word. The other guards had already switched and were all making their rounds as I entered the mansion, once in I sniffed the air, I got a small scent of Arc but I wasn’t exactly sure where it was. As we approached the corner where the guard’s room was, I dashed by and headed down the staircase nearby.
As I made my way down stairs the smell got stronger as I went around many corners and even deeper into this mansion to the lowest levels. Approaching the next corner I quickly stopped at the noises of voices, I had no chance to hide.
“How long do you give him to live?” The first man said.
“Does it matter?” The other said.
“Lily won’t allow him to die.”
“True, but if he disobeys he only has a matter of days left until he dies. Lily will let it happen if he doesn’t listen to her. The dog will always obey his master.”
“No, she won’t. He’s her prize possession after all. He’s not dying anytime soon, not on her watch. And if either of us let anything happen to him... Well, she’ll have our heads mounted up on the wall. He’ll come around to her side eventually. He’s got no other choice-” The other said.
Their voices could be heard throughout the chamber as they exited. I was holding onto both sides of the wall up against the ceiling as I watch them leave from the direction I came. I must be getting close if they were talking about Arc. Damn it, what has he gotten himself into too?
The scent was strongest in a prison like area where there was no light. There was merely one window with bars that allowed the moonlight to shine in a nearby cell. There was two guards by one of the cells. I wonder if that was where Arc was? I suppose.
I adjusted my uniform and walked towards them. It was dark enough that I wouldn’t be recognized.
“Greg what the hell are you doing down here?” The guard on the left said. “Shouldn’t you be doing rounds right now?”
“I’m finished with my rounds tonight, I came to relieve you both.” I said to them in a deeper and scruffier tone like the Greg man had.
“We just got here about an hour ago. Our shift doesn’t end for at least another 3 hours.” The other said to me.
“That’s a pity, because now you made things really difficult for me.” I growled at him punching in the abdomen and then quickly karate chopping on the side of the neck to knock him out.
“What the hell Greg?” The other guy made a swing at me but only managed to knock the hat off my head. I stood up tossing the glasses to the side as his jaw dropped as I cracked my neck. “You aren’t Greg who the hell-“
I put my hand over his mouth as I grabbed him put him in a position against the bars to restrain him. “I’m probably your worse nightmare.” I told him as my eyes grew bright gold. I used another thundershock and he fell quickly to the ground out cold. “Sweet dreams.”
Brushing my hands off I took the keys off his belt and walked by him to get to the cell he was guarding, as I unlocked it, I saw Arc hunched over on the wall. I ran up to him and bent down as I balanced on one knee. He was barely breathing and was in a cold sweat as I grabbed him and sat him up straight on the wall. He wasn’t dead so that was good but he was in a bad position. He was chained head to toe. Whatever was wrong with him, this condition was getting worse.
Gently I leaned over him and shook his shoulder, “Arc hey buddy wake up.”
His eyes flickered a bit and slowly opened, “W-what?” His sad eyes met mine as he turned to me. But when he realized who was beside him they looked surprised and overwhelmed. “L-Lux? W-what are you doing here?” He questioned nervously.
“I came to get you out of here!” I suppose the idea of me punching him in the face was out of the question. He looked like shit. “Come on, you’ve made Shupple cry and I plan to take you back.”
“Y-you need to leave Lux. You shouldn’t be here!” Arc exclaimed. His eyes roamed the floor and met mine again as he noticed the outfit I was in. “Is this how you got in?”
“Hahah yup! Trick a guard and took his clothing, pretty brilliant if you ask me,” I grabbed the chains and broke them around his neck, wrists and then went to break the ones around his ankles. His feet were bare but were cut up, he couldn’t walk on those. He needed protection for the bottom. Whatever they have done to him, it was not pleasant. “Now we just need to get you out of here. Grab on to my back. We’re escaping this place.”
“No just leave Lux before they catch you. Leave me here!” He said pushing me away.
“Damn it we don’t have much time I am getting you out of here like it or not Arc!” I lifted him and placed him piggyback style on my back as I adjusted his weight. He was a dead weight right now and with whatever amount of energy he did have, he was using it to stay alive. Damn this wasn’t going to be easy.
“You really should just put my dog down.” I heard a young woman’s voice say. For some odd reason chills went down my spine and I felt Arc’s grip around my neck tighten and his heart beat faster. “Just turn slowly Luxray.”
I did just that and found myself face to face with a young woman, who looked to be about Arc’s age, and 5 bodyguards with her. I stood there holding Arc on my shoulders staring at she who was smiling sweetly at me. But something inside me told me it wasn’t she was not as innocent as she looked. To be honest, just looking at her made the hair on my arms and legs stand straight up. Something wasn’t right.
“You did a good job making your way in here. Such mastery to make it this far and taking down 3 guards.” She said in a tone masking sarcasm, as she approached me.
I glared then smiled, “Well thank you. But if you could be so kind, please step out of my way. He doesn’t belong here.”
“I’m surprised a lion type gijinka like yourself didn’t kill the guards on the spot. You showed them mercy, how thoughtful of you.”
“I don’t believe in a nonsense killing. I came to get Arc, nothing more.”
“That’s okay, when something fails here I just dispose of it. The guard you impersonated, he has already been taken care of.”
“What?” Was she for real?
“Run away Lux…hurry…” Arc whispered in my ear.
“Do you want proof?” She looked at the one man and he lifted up a limp form of a bag, tossing it onto the ground by my feet.
“Oh my god…” I could taste the air and the scent of the blood, it was the same man. His head at least since the bag was drenched in blood. I think I was going to throw up.
“As for these two, guards?” She clapped her hands and kept her eyes on me.
The other two on each of her sides took out guns. I got to use my defense to protect Arc and myself from these bullets. But instead, something else happened. The guns were pointed at the two men on the ground and then fired. Blood shatter among the ground and on their jackets.
“W-what the hell?” I took a few steps back. “Who are you people? What type of people. kill their own comrades?” They were far worse then even animals.
“Comrades?” She giggled covering her mouth. “They were merely pawns for my father. If they fail him or any of us here, they are fired. They know that when taking on the job.”
“I doubt they know that so called ‘firing’ is that of a gun to their head.” I growled baring my fangs at her. Damn this, I’m scared. Scared of this woman. Her eyes were evil, it was like looking at the devil in some ways. How could something this innocent looking be so cruel?
“You may be right but it doesn’t even matter anymore kitty cat.” She walked towards me again as I backed up and stopped at the wall. I gasped a little but faced her quickly. Shit! I’m cornered. “Now if you please, put Arc down. I won’t ask you nicely again.”
“And if I refuse?” Okay 5 guys against me with an injured mutt on my back. I surely could jump over the girl and quickly use electricity against the men. I hated using it against humans but I’m desperate now. I’d use a thunderbolt instead. My gut was telling I needed to get out of here fast.
“You care a lot for Arc? What will you do for him on the outside if you escaped?” She asked me crossing her arms. She was right, based on what Shupple said to me he was suffering from something and the medicine wasn’t on the market. “He’d just die with you, at least with me I can save him.”
“Tsk give me a break…you’re the people who have done this to him right? The hell if I am going to let you hurt him anymore.”
“Does the cat love the dog?”
“HELL NO!!! I’m straight!!!” I was flushed in the face from the embarrassing statement but also from anger.
“There is no where for you to run you know,” She snapped her fingers and some sort of machine from a gun attached to me. I let my guard down that instant she said that to me and whatever it was, it didn’t look good. “I have no choice, guard.” He nodded and it went off. Instantly I felt this strange sensation in my body. It was electricity but the normal kind that I used, I can’t explain it but it was horrible.
I let out a scream as I fell to my knees as the guards quickly came to my sides and took Arc off my back. No. I came here for him. However, this pain was terrible, my claws were digging into the cement. As I saw one carrying Arc away, I grabbed his arm and punched him right in the face into the wall. The other attacked me but all I did was turn to him and did the same thing but into the jail bars and I grabbed Arc and hovered over him. I tore the shirt off I was wearing to get that device off me.
My skin was already scorched from that machine and I could barely catch my breath.
“Awww you poor thing.” She walked over to me and petted me. “You’re hurt badly.” I was yet again frozen, was I really that scared of this woman. Even as I looked at Arc, the same horror was in his eyes. “You know let’s make a deal kitty.”
I felt her small hands gently roam my hair and scratch my ears, this was the first time ever I hated being touched by someone there. “A deal?” I was beginning to weaken.
“Yes a deal, Arc can only get better with our treatment here,” She squatted in front of me and smiled, “But he’s so weak that he can’t do his duties for me.” She’s giving me a proposition? I don’t like this. “If you fulfill his duties, I will help cure Arc. All you have to do is obey me, keep me company, and follow my every order. Do we have a deal?”
“No deal wench!” I grumbled.
She stood up as my eyes kept on her. She looked angered as she walked over to the guard and pointed at me. He came up and tightened his gloves. Suddenly they turned to rocks, what kind of power did this place have. Without much time, I felt him slam his fist against my cheek as I went flying across the room.
Why couldn’t I have dodged that? I should have but I didn’t. Was it that device from earlier?
“Lux!” Arc called out.
The color in my eyes I could tell was fading as things seem to blur in front of me. Whatever technology they had here, it was by far advanced then what the outside world had. It was possibly was meant for only gijinkas.
“Lux? So that’s what this blue kitty’s name is. I suppose it’s befitting for the Luxray.” She snickered, “You shouldn’t defy me, next time,” She bent over and whispered in my ear, “I will chain you to a wall and kill your entire mansion.” My claws instantly grabbed her neck as black marks appeared on my face. I wanted to kill this little bitch, regardless of her being a woman, she was the devil in disguise. I’ll strangle her.
She didn’t even make a sound. Just looked down at me, eyes narrow and filled with something dark..
I stared at her, eyes wide.
“I’ll ask you again Lux, do we have a deal?” She sneered, gripping my wrist tightly.
“Don’t do it, forget about me...Lily, leave him out of this he has nothing to do with it.” Arc objected from afar. He was trying so hard to sit up straight but it was obvious he was struggling.
I bit my lip. I really don’t have much of a choice anymore, if I obey her then Arc will live and so will the others. If I don’t we’ll both could end up dead. My best bet is to take a gamble and play along with this manipulation game she is playing and hope to out smart her in the long run. I did not want to be apart of this Hellhole but the decision is clear, “We have a deal. I’ll listen to you Lily.” I let her ago and lowered my head.
“Call me master or my lady! Yes, I’m a young lady so call me that!” She cheered as she pet my blue hair again. “Now bow down before me Lux.”
“Anything my lady.” I vowed kneeling before her. This was beyond my Luxray pride and was so embarrassing. My eyes met Arc and he looked saddend and then looked away.
“That’s a good kitty. Now,” She turned to the guards, “Take him away and give him his punishment for breaking in.”
I was forced up by the goons around me who escorted me out of the cell where Arc would stay. After that moment, I wouldn’t see Arc for awhile. It was because Lily liked to play a penalty game. For my behavior she insisted that I needed to be punished. I was taken to a room where scientists were, I was apprehensive because the last time I was around scientists they gave me another being in my body thus hurting my friends. What was to come? I had no idea, all I knew I was terrified as they strapped me down on the table. First my legs, then my arms, and then my neck. Was I going to be experimented on?
Before I knew it, there was a scientist on my left with a needle into my arm putting some sort of serum into it. Then some sort of device was over me and I heard the sound of something that resembled a chainsaw. Things were hazy and the last thing I remember was the damn man standing over with me with a horrid smile as the tears ran down my face.
-Present Time-
That’s right, now I remember what happened though things are still unclear on what took place after that.
I crawled among the cold solid floor towards where Arc was or had been. I was in a cell nearby where the negotiations took place. As I pulled myself among the floor, the dry blood from the guards that had been shot still was on the floor. It had to be days since I had been out cold.
“Arc?” I cried again hoping for a reply.
“Lux?” I heard a small whimper, it was him. Thank God.
“Shit man what happened, my head is throbbing.” I exclaimed resting on the bars separating our areas.
He slowly crawled over to me with his arms. He wasn’t in any condition to do much of anything. “Do you remember what happened to you?” He asked me.
I shook my head, “No, I have no damn clue. The last thing I remember is getting a needle in my arm, and being on the table….yeah that’s about it. Damn its dark in here. I can’t even see very well.”
“Lux have you not noticed all the blood that is around you?” Arc questioned as he looked at me wide eyed.
“Ahh no, I can’t see...I have hardly any feeling in my body.” I growled resting my head back on the ground.
“I see…” He was silent for a moment, which made me uneasy, “They numbed you and you don’t know…”
“Know what?”
He looked away.
“Know what? Tell me damn it!” I demanded trying to grab at his hair.
“Y-you’re eyes are swollen Lux. That injection was a numbing serum that numbs your body for days. At least, you have been out cold for 8 days or so. I can’t even tell days from night anymore.” He lowered his ears. “I’m so sorry about what happened, j-just don’t freak out.”
“Spit it out!”
“Touch your left eye…”
“Huh?” I didn’t understand, nonetheless, I did what he said. As I placed my hand on my cheek I noticed a lot of the blood that was on my body was coming from my face. As I lead my fingers up to my eye, that’s when I noticed it. I let out a gasp, then I rolled over and threw up on the ground. “ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?” I cried holding face in my hand.
Arc didn’t say anything. I just screamed in my franticness, my left eye was gone, just an empty socket. I continued to scream due to my pain and my fear of this hell.
