Shupple
It was different watching Krory fight Delin, I had to admit. Each style was very different in its own way, and we truly saw what Krory could do. Even though she had just come into the mansion, she seemed to be nice. A lot of people didn’t trust her though, once she told us what had happened to Damaris. I was skeptical then when she told us the next piece of news.
“What I am about to tell yoos is top secret information only given to high ranking officers of the military. I came here to find Damaris and find out about her brother, Drake. Ta organization that Drake works for believes strongly in taking over the world by flooding it. Its top officials are some of the strongest water types and have provided ta navy with much difficulty in defeating them.”
“Yeah I remember hearing this story,” Rai stated, “The culprits were apprehended many years ago.” I had heard that too, but not very often. They kept it under wraps it seems…
“Until they escaped recently,” Krory said and we all started to grow quiet. “Why this is so critical is because ta one that escaped was Gorfrey the Gyrados.” We all remember him. It wasn’t hard to remember him. “That name may sound familiar but he is part of a underground operation trying to rid the world of humans and gijinkas alike so only water types and those that can live among water will survive. All others shall perish. He has already made that clear with the recent killing of a village in Unova.”
“How the f*ck did a guy like that escape from your prison? Tells you that the military ain’t as f*cking great as it’s cracked up to be,” Luca criticized in the back of the room.
“I can’t say for certain but yoos are right. It shouldn’t have happen,” Krory said as she looked at all of us again. “I came here to meet with Damaris and find out if she knew anything more about her brother and protect her from this group. As it stands, she was kidnapped earlier when the lights went out by two of Gorfrey’s subordinates,” Krory said, trying to be as straightforward as she could.
“Your job to protect her? HUH? Well you did a lousy job at that Krory! Now my girlfriend is in that bastards hands and we have no idea where they are at. What do you plan to do about this since its YOUR FAULT!” We all looked at Delin. I’m pretty sure we all understood where he was coming from, especially me. It reminded me that I needed to get stronger.
“Me sincerest apologies, as a ground type and being blindsided by two water types, I couldn’t protect her. Believe me it sickens me to admit that I failed this mission. This isn’t a ripper feeling I bare,” Krory said with resentment in her voice. I could tell from her eyes that she had hated doing that, failing what she was supposed to do.
“Yeah you failed alright! That’s not going to bring her back!”
“Delin, sit down already!” Patrick exclaimed.
“No, Patrick, I won’t! I want to know what the hell she plans to do about it,” Delin said as he stood, trying to control his anger. “At the very least you should get other military officials involved.”
“I can’t.” We all stared.
“What?”
“Me superior made it perfectly clear that I am on me own on this. I hate how unprepared I am but I am unable to get any military aid from any region, including ta one we are in.”
“So what are we supposed to do now, just sit here while Damaris is missing?” Delin asked shaking his head.
Krory’s eyes roamed the room before she let out a sigh. “I suppose I have nah other choice, I will need ta help of yoos folks here at the mansion to help me save Damaris and go to war with ta water Gods.” Now this sounded completely impossible. It didn’t make any sense. Us? Go to war?
Everybody started to question each other and shove negative comments around. Estelle seemed nervous and Tanner was trying to calm her down. This just made everything haywire.
“I understand this is a daunting task and idea however, based on the knowledge that I have obtained, we have 3 months to prepare. I plan on training yoos all to be prepared to fight ta water gods and some simple electricity won’t over power them. Teamwork is key. I can’t expect yoos all to join me but I do plan on risk’n me life to save that shelia. To conclude, I will let yoos ponder on these thoughts and yoos can let me know tomorrow what yoos want to do.” All eyes were put on Krory and she just looked down at the ground before she headed over to the window and just stared at it.
Everybody talked amongst themselves after that and eventually left, being skeptical and unsure of what to do next. Some sounded like they wanted to fight but not a lot of did. I waited for Tanner and Estelle and they came over to me once they caught my eye.
“So what are you going to do?” I asked Tanner and Estelle and Tanner looked at Estelle.
“I don’t think we should fight! I’m tired of fighting!” Estelle exclaimed and Tanner cringed at her comment, and I understood why, especially with what just happened to him.
“But…?” Tanner left off quietly as we tried to keep quiet around Krory, even though she didn’t seem to be listening.
“But…” Estelle frowned and looked at Tanner. “If it’s the right thing, then we should… anyways, I need to become stronger… so that Lux can…” She left off and Tanner looked the other way, feeling uncomfortable.
“You aren’t the only one that needs to become stronger, you know,” I pointed out with a small smile and Estelle nodded. Tanner cleared his throat slightly.
“I need to become stronger too… I’m going to do it. How about you, Shupple? Estelle?” Tanner asked and I nodded.
“I need some place to live when the world ends, right?” I said and Tanner chuckled and Estelle seemed stuck.
“I don’t know yet. I have to think,” Estelle said quietly before she walked out the door and Tanner and I followed her to the stairs but she continued on her way. Tanner looked at me, Roland taking over partly because one eye went black.
“I don’t trust this woman. If I had a choice, I wouldn’t do it,” Roland hissed to me and Tanner shook him off.
“Of course you wouldn’t do it. You don’t want me-” Roland interjected.
“Shut up. I don’t know how to fight. You know how, yet you just choose my body,” Tanner spat back and then he turned to me.
“Sorry,” Tanner told me sheepishly and I shrugged.
“I’m a little bit used to it now, though I think Estelle is still adjusting,” I told him and he looked at the ground and leaned against the stairs. I could see that the railing was almost crushed and there was black stained into the stairs themselves. Tanner looked in my direction.
“I did that the night of the dance a few months ago,” Tanner sighed and I didn’t say anything. I just looked at the damage. He started to climb the stairs once he realized that I wasn’t going to reply but I did say one thing as he climbed the stairs.
“You’re stronger than you look, Tanner. You’re even holding in the pain for your leg,” I told him flatly and he didn’t say anything as he climbed the stairs. After a while, I followed and went up to my room, finding it the way it regularly was, except there was a new outfit sitting on my bed. Of course, the mansion was changing and so were the people. Time for me to change, I guess…
I went over and looked at the clothes. The top only consisted of only zippers, along with the skirt. The top was in completely black zippers and it twisted down as long sleeves that could be adjusted to be short sleeved or a tank top, and it seemed to end right under my boobs, to put it simply. They didn’t sparkle, thank Arceus, along with the skirt being the same, except it was gold zippers and it ended just above my knees. The boots seemed to be like black winter boots, except thinner and it had small, golden bells on it, like a Banette’s tail, but smaller at the top of the boot. Around the whole outfit though, sat a black cloak that seemed to be ripped and tattered along the edges of the bottom, some holes consisting in the actual cloak. There seemed to be little bells that were to go in my hair as a braid or tied on to the ends of my hair. There was a pair of gloves though, that actually weren’t cut at the knuckles. They were actual black gloves that fit around the whole hand, but they flared out at the end and had different edges on the ends of them. It was pretty cool.
I didn’t really feel that tired, even though I know everybody else was, and I knew it was my insomnia kicking in, which it rarely did, so I got out of my old clothes, hung them up in my closet, and switched into my new ones. It took me a little bit to get into the zippers but once I figured it out, I got into them and got on the boots and then the bells. The bells were so silent; you had to be listening to the wind to really hear them. Once I slipped on the cloak and put the hood over me, which was actually quite big, even though it was filled with holes, I looked at myself in the mirror. The cloak extended around me, as if being pushed by ghosts themselves and the wind helping them because it was swaying behind me like their a movement of air when there wasn’t really.
Something felt wrong though, and it wasn’t the outfit. Something in me. I needed to become stronger but who could really train me here? I didn’t want to ask Xio… My last resort in the world would be Xio… Maybe… maybe Krory could help me. She was stronger and she was a Dark type and I was weak against that type. The only type I was weak against, really. Bug types and poison types didn’t seem to bug me much as much as it used to and I was stronger against Ghost than I was weak against it, so Dark was really my main problem.
That’s when I headed out of my room and over to Krory’s, which actually wasn’t that hard to find since there was a plate on her door that said her military name. I knocked on it and not soon after did Krory answer the door. She didn’t seem too happy, but not too sad either. I couldn’t tell what it was.
“Why are yoos here, Shupple?” Krory asked and I looked at her.
“I would like you to train me,” I told her and she narrowed her eyes.
“And why should me train yoos?” She asked me and I continued to look her straight in the eye.
“Would you like me to prove it to you?” I asked her and after a few seconds, she nodded briskly.
“I need identification cards from everybody here. Um, wallets,” She told me and I looked at her and then understood what she meant. She needed to find out what everybody could do, see if there were any criminals here that were powerful. I slipped mine out of my cloak and handed it right to her.
“Well, here’s mine. Getting everybody else’s shouldn’t be a problem,” I shrugged and she was about to ask when I smiled. “I’ll be back in about less than fifteen minutes,” I told her as I disappeared into the shadows and moved along them into rooms, where everybody was either gone or asleep in.
It wasn’t hard to find everybody’s wallet as they slept. In fact, it was quite easy. The wallets either sat in pants, on their dressers, in the bathroom, or even just on the floor. Two, I weren’t able to find which were Delin’s and Patrick’s, so I guess Krory already got theirs, since she was able to fight Delin in a way of already knowing how he fought. It wasn’t too hard to get Xio’s, actually. It was sitting on his nightstand and he was telling Kiki goodnight as he did so I stuffed it along with the other wallets in my pockets of my cloak and moved on. Lux’s and Arc’s weren’t in their rooms of course, so I would have to tell Krory about that when I got back. When I got to Estelle’s, it was clear as day as it was in her dresser and then I came upon Glyph’s. His seemed to be hidden as he slept. It took me a while to find it of merging through items, but it was in a good hiding spot, which was actually hiding underneath a ceiling tile above his dresser. Chandacy’s was as clear as day also, it being on her dresser. Then, there was Tanner’s. His would be the hardest, I think, because it was under his pillow and Roland could detect anything while Tanner was sleeping. It’s like he knew that his wallet was going to be taken… which made my suspicions rise. I slowly took it out, afraid Roland would wake up and notice, but instead, Tanner snorted and rolled to the other side of his bed. I sighed in relief, got the wallet, and headed back to Krory’s room and surfaced out of the darkness and into her room, where she jumped at the sound of my feet moving slightly.
“Don’t do that, sheila!” She exclaimed, she being at her desk and closing it quickly. For a second, I could’ve sworn I saw my picture on there before she closed it. Oh well.
“Got them all, every single last one,” I told her and her eyes widened as I put them all on her bed.
“Good gracious, sheila! Yoos did get them all!” She said with a smile as she started to move all of the wallets over to her desk.
“There are only two you don’t have, and those two men are gone at the moment. One is saving the other for me,” I told her and she nodded. I got out a quick picture from my pocket, since I had made a quick stop at my room before I had really started the wallet stealing.
“The Luxray in the picture is Lux, while the Arcanine is Arc,” I told her as I gave her the picture and she put the picture beside her desk and then turned to me.
“Yoos have me interested now, sheila. Why should I train you? What makes yoos so special?” Krory said, all interested now and leaning towards me in interest. I smiled slightly.
“I have a feeling you were just looking at my profile?” I asked and she blushed and looked the other way.
“I have no idea what yoos is talking ‘bout,” Krory said and I just laughed, the bells moving slightly on my hair and it made a jingle in the air.
“It’s fine, Krory. Really,” I told her and she looked at me a bit skeptically.
“I’ve never had real training, and I don’t count the one a man from my past did because I killed him just a few months ago,” I sighed and she just looked at me, hiding what she was thinking about. “There wasn’t anybody I could really train with, yet alone find someone who actually wanted to help a Banette and one that was powerful enough too. At most, I found Pokemon, but there aren’t any Legendary Ghost Pokemon, so I couldn’t exactly train,” I told her and she nodded. “I need to become stronger, not only in power, but also in myself. It would help me a lot if you trained me,” I told her. “You’re quite a stronger woman than I am.” And she smiled.
“And that means I will train yoos, Shupple! Now, what moves do yoos have?” She asked me and I smiled a little eerily, I think, not intending to though.
“Banettes are Marionette Pokemon, so we can control people like people control marionettes,” I told her and she tilted her head in confusion before I whispered, “Shadow Sneak,” and I got complete control over her.
I lifted my hands and she stood up, freaked out, because it wasn’t her doing these things. I then controlled her shadow and made it appear in front of her like a puppet, her doing the exact motions of it.
“Okay, okay!! That’s enough, sheila!! This is freakin' me out!!” Krory demanded and I chuckled and let go of her and she took a few deep breaths before she sat back down at her desk. “I'll train yoos but tomorrow mornin' meet me here in me room, aye?” I smiled. It was nice having something to do… besides think about Arc…
“Alright, I’ll do that,” I told her with a nod and Krory smiled, seeming exhausted. She brushed her hand through her hair.
“Also make sure yoos eat a proper breakky before yoos come here. Meet me around 10 am!” Krory told me as I got up and went to the door.
“Alright,” I told her with a smile and left. Everybody seemed to be still asleep as I headed back to my room silently.
Once I got back into my room, I got into my pajamas and quickly fell asleep. There had been so much going on today, what with Lux leaving to go find Arc… I didn’t know what to do next besides become stronger like Lux said… Maybe that was really all I had to do…
.:The Next Morning:.
It was probably about 9:30 in the morning when I woke up and I could hear people getting breakfast and talking, some frantically, trying to find their wallets. It wasn’t that hard to hear Glyph freaking out to Rai about where his wallet was. I chuckled slightly and slipped out of bed. I got quickly into my new outfit- I had left the bells in my hair because I didn’t see a point in taking them out- and headed out of my room.
As I got into the Commons, I could see either people were calm or freaking out like Glyph was. I ignored it and went into the kitchen, grabbing a banana. I was feeling a bit queasy since I was a bit nervous for training. I could see Chandacy not that far off, looking frantically also. I could hear things breaking in Tanner’s room as he searched for his wallet. Well, I should get out of here before people starting asking questions…
I hurried over to Krory’s room and took a breath before I knocked on the door. There was only silence so I decided to knock again.
“I don't want the bloody cake....I....I want pie....” I heard that come through the door and that’s when I realized that Krory was still asleep. Great… I decided to knock again to see if she would wake up and that’s when I heard her grunt.
“Krory?” I through the door, hoping she would hear me.
“Aye?” Well, at least she lives. I took a deep breath.
“You awake?” I asked her and I heard her move a little bit.
“Aye....sorta....shelia...what....bloody time...is it?” She asked me and I chuckled. Did she forget?
“It's 10 AM, the time you said for me to come.” I told her with a slight grin. Maybe I should check on her… “I'm going to come in, alright?” I asked her as I creaked the door open a little bit and I got a surprise attack instead of her throwing a pillow in my face.
“WAIT! I am not decent!!!” I heard a door slam as I brought the pillow off of my face and threw it back onto the bed. “Sorry I don't want yoos too see me without me makeup on...” Krory said through her bathroom door and my eyebrows furrowed. Why would she need to worry about makeup? Honestly…
“Krory, I don't particularly care if you have any makeup on or not. I don't really like the stuff personally,” I told her through the door as I closed the door behind me and leaned against it.
“Aye well...yoos might not cares but I do since I'm flamin critical on me looks and bloody self- conscious…” She told me and I tilted my head. I had never met a girl to where makeup was that critical, but if it was because she was that self-conscious, then there wasn’t really anyway I could help her except give her my personal opinion. I could hear running water in the sink as well as hopping on one foot as she put on clothes.
“Krory, it's okay to look like yourself around friends. Why do you care what other people think?” Oh, wait a second… I shouldn’t pry. I hardly knew her, yet I felt like she was already a friend towards me. “Wait, I'm not going to pry. You don't have to tell me,” I said quickly, which must’ve caused her to knock things over in the bathroom.
“Well shelia, I have me reasons....” Krory left off as I heard her trying to fix things in the bathroom.
“Then, if you feel that your reasons are correct, than keep by them. I won't pry,” I told her again with a slight yawn. Krory poked her head out of the bathroom with over half of her makeup on and applying lipstick on at the same time. She was half dressed. Not even I got ready that quickly.
“Yoos should care about your looks a bit more since it’s what catches ta eye of a man. Sadly, most men only see with their eyes then their hearts. That is how sheilas attract a special someone am I right?” If she’s saying this… how many times has she been broken in half by men? Thinking about this made me think of Arc and Lux and it was one thing I was trying to avoid today… Oh well. And I felt like I could tell Krory it, like she had been through my whole life already. I don’t know what it was.
“Not completely,” I told her with a small smile. “There was a guy who...” I faltered for a few seconds because it was weird talking about this. “There was a guy who saw me for who I really am and he accepted it. I didn't wear any makeup, I just acted like myself. He saw inside me. My best friend, Lux, does that too. A lot of the Gijinkas here look inside, not outside, maybe except for Xio. If you got to know the people around here, Krory, you would see what I mean. The guy I mean... well, he left a few days ago... and Lux went after him in pursuit to have him come back to me. I'm just... a bit too heartbroken. He never cared about what was on the outside. A lot of people do care, Krory...” I told her and nothing changed about her besides her expression. She came out and placed her hips on her side with a big grin on her.
"Then yoos really have a wonderful man by your side. I have been around the block a lot and I tinnie tell you I know bonzer guys when I see them. Me main job is ta keep sheilas from gettin' hurt. From the sounds of it, yoos have two important blokes in your life that truly love yoos. It’s funny being a guy.....I mean reckon about it...they have to keep their feelings locked up, but pretend to be strong but they have to keep strong for women. It’s their pride!” I couldn’t help but be skeptical. It was hard after being brokenhearted twice to hear something contradicting what happened.
“Krory, he left me without any reason. He doesn't truly love me. He would've told me why he left on another journey. He had already done it once a few years ago and it repeated. Lux was the one that stayed by my side.” I looked down at my feet and sighed. “Besides, if Lux does bring him back, I'm beating the crap out of him...” I frowned for a few moments before looking back up at her and deciding to try to stay on the main topic at hand. “Hey, so what about that training?” I asked her with a fake smile. She knew it was fake though.
“Yoos just don't understand the male mind Shupple. Aye let’s begin our trainin',” Krory told me as she opened up the door and we both went outside into the hallway.
“I just don't crap from people...” I sighed. “I've enough crap in my life... I'm not going to have more…” I was about to walk off to start to head towards downstairs but she quickly grabbed my hand in response.
“Trust me Shupple... he cares...”She looked at me with sincere and soft eyes, as if almost digging at my heart. Was it really too hard to believe her eyes? I couldn’t tell if she was just sympathetic or being truly nice. Maybe I’m just pessimistic now. Who knew, really?
“Then why did he leave, Krory? Without telling me a damn thing? If it was to search for himself, then he could've told me. If he had a problem, he could've told me. He knew my past, I didn't know his. He... he had a medical problem and I had to pry that out of him because I wasn't trusting him anymore.... Tell me why, Krory,” I told her and an eerie smirk grew upon her face.
“Yoos wants to knows??? Defeat me and I will tell yoos....” I smirked. Of course it would be that way… I pulled my hood over my head and followed her down the stairs and onto the grass field.
“I'm not going to get cocky around fighting you and use my anger just to know a simple thing... But alright,” I told her as I disappeared into the shadows and moved some feet away from her before coming out of the shadows and just stood still in one place.
“Cocky?” Krory grinned. “Nah that’s not it, sometimes in battle yoos blue ta gain knowledge that is the lesson you will learn today because it will help you in this up comin' battle. Yoos just don't understand the male mind Shupple. Aye let’s begin our trainin',” she told but I didn’t say anything in response. I was studying her instead and she grew a bit weary of me.
“So what yoos not going to attack?” She asked and I merely shrugged. I wanted to put a proposition. I didn’t see why not. If she would truly tell me why Arc left, then why not have her do something in return?
“When I eventually win and I'm not saying I will, you stop wearing makeup,” I told her and she cackled. I honestly wasn’t trying to postpone the fight; it was just merely a talk.
“Nah goin' to happen...I mean the makeup part anyway....” She said and I smirked.
“But shouldn’t we have some sort of proposition?” I asked her and that’s when things started to happen. She snapped her fingers and was gone in an instant.
Almost immediately, I heard a rustle behind me but I wasn’t able to dodge as Krory hit me in the side with her elbow at a vertical degree.
“Rule number 1, yoos yabber too much...” I then heard her move again and she did a flip up in the air above me, bring her foot down as she fell. “Rule number 2, don't let your guard down!” I quickly moved into the shadows around me, since they were growing high due to the sun’s motion, and she caused a crater right where I was. I moved around to where the mansion was and hide in its shadow for the time being. The elbowing didn’t hurt much but I rubbed it where it was irritating me.
“Aye good dodge shelia, now show me how yoos blue!” I’m guessing that meant how I fight so I decided to test something on her. I moved up to the shadow of the roof and used Trick Room silently to show her greatest fears, but I didn’t know her well enough. Either way, nothing happened.
"Shelia... that won't work on me...” Krory called out as she whipped a Sandstorm, like the one I saw last night with Delin and that’s when I really listened to the wind and I felt something rise up in me.
“Ominous Wind,” I said as quietly as the wind blew and it made my bells ring slightly as the sandstorm grew to a standstill.
“Aye not bad! That's the way ta use your brain, I like that...bonzer reckonin' shelia!” I smiled. I was glad no one was watching. I slipped away into the shadows as I threw a Shadow Ball from the roof but didn’t land so gracefully on the ground in the shadow. I was able to move all the way to the lake before I fell out of the shadow and landed on the ground as Krory avoided the Shadow Ball and noticed Krory was running up to the side of me.
“Yoos needs to be more careful Shelia...” Krory told me as she helped me up and I just nodded.
“Doesn’t really hurt falling out of a shadow, though,” I told her and she nodded.
“Let’s go then!” She enthusiastically said and I used Will-O-Wisp, which summoned a whip to my hand that was surround in fire.
“Interesting shelia...” I didn’t know if she meant that I could do this move or the fact of I was holding a whip in hand that was on fire and it wasn’t burning me as I wrapped it around my arm.
“Kind of got the move through a man I killed from my past a few months ago,” I told her simply and she looked slightly skeptical.
“Do show then,” She smiled and in all honesty, I couldn’t help but be as skeptical. I hadn’t gotten the move down since I didn’t practice it a lot, but I tried in the least bit by merging into the shadows and showing up quietly behind Krory quickly and wrapping her arm in the whip. It apparently didn’t affect her as she turned around.
“Ta thin' about ground types,” Krory started off as she moved quickly in front of me and grabbed my sleeve. “We don't burn easily... Foul Play.” I soon found out what that did as she punched me straight in the gut, which rippled through me and caused me to spit up a little bit in my mouth.
As a counter, I grabbed the arm that punched me and used my free hand.
“Sucker Punch,” I said as I punched her right across the cheek and she got flown a little bit but not too far away. She stood right back up though, not hurt. Huh. How odd.
“Yoos have nah heart in your punch Shupple, with that punch yoos couldn't even hurt a fly,” She told me as she came up to me and I frowned.
“I do have heart in one thing though,” I said. “Shadow Sneak.” And with that, I lifted Krory up in the air with one hand and twisted her muscles with the other, but what I didn’t expect was that after Krory screamed, Krory appeared right in front of me and I realized the Krory under my control was just a puppet.
“Just kidding...” Krory said as she stood in front of me and I relaxed my fingers and backed up a bit. “That would be a swagger...when yoos were yabber'n I used it...always keep your eyes on ta enemy...”And that’s when a sudden Sandstorm appeared out of nowhere and I almost couldn’t see Krory. “…or yoos might just get hurt.” I felt her grab me into the sandstorm and I felt helpless.
And that this wasn’t a training anymore. It was just a bit more than that.
I couldn’t counteract the sandstorm as it raged around me with Ominous Wind because I could barely even concentrate on that. I squinted my eyes as my hood was thrown back behind me.
“Now I'll show yoos oath pain... without holding back shelia...” Her voice echoed through the sandstorm and it was filled with malice and murderous rage. I hadn’t expected this, nor did I expect this sand to actually cut me.
And that’s even when I got something even more unexpected. I was being kicked at, punched at, and thrown at as I tried to keep up with Krory. She was hitting me with every type of martial arts known to man: jujutsu, taekwondo, karate, Shotokan, wado-ryu, goju-ryu, and so on. Everything was thrown in at once and I didn’t know if I should scream or not. To me, it felt like weakness, but that was also showing emotion, which wasn’t a weakness to me. I let out small yelps here and there but as much blood kept on coming up my mouth and blood pouring out of my nose and knees, I collapsed in pain.
More pain entered me as Krory snuck up behind me, put her claws on my chest and dug her claws through my rib cage and past my sternum, and she was right above my heart. I could almost feel her nail touching it. Blood poured from my chest and it was to a point where I wasn’t able to feel the pain anymore.
“What will yoos do with power?” Krory growled loudly and I looked up at her and laughed, which didn’t help the pour of blood.
“As if...” I coughed more blood up but I believe I was starting to run low on blood… “I haven't been close enough... to death already... To use power... is protect those you love... Protect those around you... Even if that means giving your life in the process...” I lost control of keeping my neck up to look at her. “I've already died once... And I would do it again to protect those I know and that are my friends... Power... Sometimes it’s almost a waste if you have people you love that are dead already...” I laughed even more as I looked at the blood on me. I was soaked from head to toe. She did worse damage than Shift ever would’ve done…
Krory’s claws exited my vision started to grow hazy and all I could smell was the sandstorm and blood around me. She stood above as I leaned on my knees, ready to keel over.
“That me dear would be the right answer...” She told me as she flicked me on the forehead and I passed out almost too quickly.
.:Dream:.
“Shupple? Shupple? Hey Shupple? Wake up Shupple....” I didn’t want to wake up. I was comfortable enough in my own cloak. I recognized the voice though and I smiled. I had missed that voice.
“Mhmmmm… Kitty…” I murmured and I felt a hand push me up and I rubbed my eyes. I could feel that my clothes were wet though.
“Shupple? What are you doing here?” I heard a soft voice say and I opened my eyes. There sat Lux with a smile on his face in a grass field that was filled with sunlight. He seemed warm like usual and missing somebody… Me.
“I… I don’t know… But you’re here, aren’t you? That makes it better,” I told him with a smile and that’s when he lay down in the bed of grass and the area around him started to grow dark.
“Shupple, you need to leave, now! Before you get hurt!” Lux cried as the area surrounded us grew dark and eerie. It was cold around us and I held myself to stay warm. “It’s so cold…” He muttered as he huddled himself into a ball and tried to stay warm.
“Lux, what’s wrong?” I asked, worried. He started to look hungry and skinny as my dream turned into a nightmare.
There grew to be a building around me that was stone and filled with torturing devices and chains and an experimental bed all in the same room. There was a puddle of blood growing around Lux now and half of his body seemed to consist of only bleeding. His tail was ripped and his clothes looked torn to bits. He hardly had enough clothes on him and he seemed to be butchered like a cow.
“These people aren't normal...” Lux exclaimed at me. “They have already butchered Arc and I... I'm doing everything in my power to stay alive for Arc... Arc...he's on his deathbed,” Lux started to tear up. “This place is a living hell Shupple...this young girl is....you can't be here and I won't allow it...you don't have any right to be in hell... Don’t come looking for us.” He grabbed me quickly and kissed me on the lips, blood being left on them. “...Forgive me but Arc and I are pushing you back where you are needed… I don’t want you in danger too!” He cried as I noticed he missing a feature and he was in chains and cuffs that were connected to the wall behind his body. He had multiple scars on his neck and chest, showing that he had been tested on.
No… No, this was my worst nightmare!! NO!!
“NO!!! I don’t want to this to be real!! I want you back!!” I cried as tears poured down my face and he smiled and it was almost eerie.
“How much I wouldn’t give to be with you right now, Shupple,” He cried and I screamed as I was pulled back into reality.
.:End Dream:.
I woke up to footsteps and people murmuring and talking. I groaned as I felt myself being in the hands of somebody. Lux? Was it him? Was he back?
I forced my eyes to open slightly and instead, once my eyes focused, I saw Krory, not Lux.
“Well, I wasn’t expecting you,” I told her bluntly and Krory laughed. How much I wanted to save Lux in that dream. Or was it reality? Did I use Foresight without knowing it? I couldn’t tell.
“Why? Because I'm not yoos Prince Charming?” She asked and I smirked. If only.
“No, not completely,” I told her and she laughed again as I saw people staring at the blood being dripped off me. I could feel that I was bandaged up underneath my cloak and my clothes, along with my face, arms, and legs.
“Want me ta kiss yoos to make yoos feel bonzer shelia?” Krory teased and I rolled my eyes, which hurt slightly.
“Um, no. I would like for that to definitely not happen.”
“Yoos mights regret it! Haha!!!” She laughed as she started to walk up the stairs into the second floor and got onto the landing of it.
“No, I won't!” I smirked but then I saw all of the blood on Krory’s clothes. “Sorry about the blood...”
“Nah don't be, it's flamin alright, nah pound intended. Haha!” Her eyes then softened. “I'm the one that hurt you. Sorry Shupple, I thought yoos would have put of more of a blue maggot. With that said, tomorrow we shall do some trainin' for your mind. That's your weakness right now.” She then held me tighter for some reason. “Women are not meant to bleed...”
“I've bled more than probably a lot of girls... I've been trained to not scream... Sure, I might but I don't like the sound of it. The man I killed those months ago was a commander of Team Rocket and when I was a kid, he had trained me to not show... something of remorse. I lived through and that's the point of it all…” Again, I felt like I could just confide in Krory… I was telling her my past without meaning.
“The point though isn't that yoos don't scream or that you are alive, he trained you ta be like a machine. It’s a pity that you reckon that way still. It’s only natural that you show emotions in a fight, if not, then you are nah better than the machines themselves.” She came upon my door Think about this, if you truly love ta man Arc, your emotions are key in a battle. If you are trained to be the way you are now, tell me, what bonzer has it done you? I'm certain it hasn't been good. Tomorrow you and I shall train you mentally.” I gave a slight nod as she opened my door and my eyes met darkness. In ways, she was correct. She only saw me as what I knew as a machine and not as myself today, but it was the only thing I knew.
“Yeah, I guess so... Though... what emotions do you fight with, Krory?” I asked her as I heard Tanner suddenly call out to me from the Commons and I heard his feet pounding towards where I was.
“I have many...” Krory said quietly as Tanner came up to us and he looked at me worriedly.
“I saw the trail of blood.” My eyes took to Krory because she was looking at Tanner oddly. “I was wondering if you were okay,” Tanner panted and I nodded.
“I’m fine, you idiot,” I smiled and he rolled his eyes. He started to walk off and his eyes kept on Krory.
“Alright, but I’m checking in on you later,” He told me as I saw his eyes shift color and he started to talk to Roland quietly as he got out of earshot.
“Tanner’s like my brother…” I left off, telling Krory as she walked me into my room and put me on my bed. I propped myself up on my pillows as she stood on the side.
“Don't yoos mean brothers?” I was stunned. How was she able to tell so quickly?
“I’m guessing you read his profile?” I asked cautiously.
“Nah...I just tinnie see it in his eyes...when yoos been in the military and seen death or what happens ta your comrades... Gijinkas change... develop how yoos say, another personality? It's evident in his eyes... It’s the same as yours... his eyes tell me a story... There's two bein's in there... One's a killer while the other isn't. Your's do not say killer. People's eyes are probably one of the scariest features they have....I have only met one person who's eyes terrify me...other than me own...” Krory left off, thinking and I just gave a slight nod. It made me worried. She walked to the door and left her hand on the handle as I spoke up.
“Well, Tanner... per say, has been messed up for over ten years... He was.. well captured by Team Rocket when he was eight... He didn't escape until about a year ago... I won't say though, what he's done to those people... It'll most likely be on his profile of what he can do... Roland, his other personality, was made to protect him... It went further than that though...”
“I understand, well I suppose I should find out what the other gijinkas are doin'. I'll come back and check up on ya alright?” Krory asked.
“Sure... Warning about Tanner... don't get on his bad side... It's not a good idea,” I told her and Krory smirked.
“Maggots like him don't scare me, but I’ll keep that in mind.” And with that, she left and I was left to my own thoughts.
What was that about Lux? What about Tanner? I had too much to think about… But I was starting to grow the feeling that I felt something more for Lux than just brotherly love…
Was it more than a friend’s love towards another?
I had a feeling it was.
