UPDATED: Ground Rules (Huge changes!! and a few new rules!!)

Okay, we've had some major changes and additions to the rules for PGR!! I need everyone to read ALL of this, because we added a little bit to almost every rule and we switched some around as well. So make sure you comment below saying you have read all of these and agree to them! If you have any questions, suggestions, comments, cussing or discussing, leave it in the comment box below :D

Rule Number One: You must name your gijinka similar to the Pokemon they represent.
One way to do this is to choose a name with the same first letter. Another is to take a part of the Pokemon's name (Lux the Luxray). You could also take advantage of all the different languages out there to come up with a unique name. Some people use the Japanese name of the Pokemon (Nyarth=Meowth), or a Japanese word that relates (Burn=Moyasu the Flareon). And some choose names that sound a little like the Pokemon (Estelle the Espeon).

Rule Number Two: The most dominant color of the Pokemon needs to be incorporated into your gijinka's outfit designs.
It doesn't matter how much or how little, but the main color needs to be there. Other than that, you can use any colors you wish for outfits. There just should be SOME similarity to the original Pokemon. :)

Rule Number Three: No legendary Pokemon Gijinkas.
It really gets annoying when someone uses a legendary Pokemon and acts like they're more superior. Please be a regular Pokemon.

Rule Number Four: You can start with only ONE character.
It is possible to introduce another character ONLY if you consult one of the three Leaders (Team Plasma N, Eneko, or Animelover7310) and ask us for permission. However, this can only be done after 6 months, but you have to have been pretty active in the RP. Ask many of the older members, having a second character is very difficult to handle. Many people have tried role playing with the second character and found that they couldn't handle two. The leaders will discuss and read the profile of the character and will deliberate the matter at hand. If we decide you have been active enough and we think you may be able to handle a second character, we will grant you permission.

Rule Number Five: Minor characters.
Sometimes you need to introduce minor characters to help with the storyline, explain someone’s past, or etc. In that case, you are allowed to use a character, but keep the use of him or her as minimal as you can; remember you are only trying to get a point across and not adopting a new permanent character. However, this is a great way to 'test drive' a possible new character and find out if you really want to adopt him/her as your second gijinka. (This is how Xio came about.)

Rule Number Six: The Shiny rule.
Your first gijinka cannot be a shiny. If you have been an active member and are ready to take a second character, the leaders may reward you with the opportunity to have a shiny Gijinka. This needs to be approved by us. In addition, there will be no 'dark' Pokemon. (Xio is the exception.)

Rule Number Seven: Please choose a new, unused Pokemon for your gijinka.
We encourage new members to choose a Pokemon that isn’t being used by a current member. After all, that’s what makes PGR so interesting – the diversity of character species and personalities. But if you really have your heart set on a Pokemon that is already taken, you need to contact the owner first, and ask if you can make a duplicate Pokemon. This also goes with evolutions. If you are a Luxio and there is already a Luxray, you MUST contact and get approval from the Luxray’s owner before you can have your character evolve into a Luxray.

Rule Number Eight: Each member is expected to post a part of the storyline at LEAST once a month.
That means if you have two characters, you'll post twice a month, at least one for each of them. We won't allow less. If you joined PGR, you must have been wanting to participate, right? If you can't handle how fast the club moves, or something pops up in real life and restricts you from posting, contact one of the Leaders and explain your problem. Excuses like computer or internet malfunctions, sickness, school, vacations, and other things that could make you busy are accepted. We also know things happen in real life that could make you not feel up to posting, and that's fine, but after a while we expect you to not bring your stress or drama to the other members in PGR and just post, please.
If you are aware in advance of something that will cause you to not be able to post for a while, PLEASE contact one of the leaders and explain, and we'll discuss it.

Rule Number Nine: Every so often we purge inactive members.
Sometimes we need to weed out the maggots who don't post as much as they should. If you miss a month or two every so often, that may be acceptable, but soon we will lose patience and quietly tell you to leave. We DO allow second chances after someone has been Purged, however. If you wish to try again, you may make a NEW character and rejoin, but remember this is your second and final chance. If you blow it this time, you missed your chance.

Rule Number Ten: Language and sexual content in posts.
It's perfectly fine to have language and some sexual content in your posts. Face it, most of us are playing with characters who are in their late teens and early twenties. There's no way that all of them are sweet angels. We've already had numerous 'sex posts' and so far no one has crossed over the line of 'mature literary work' and entered the 'dirty smut' domain. We're all over 13 here; I'm pretty sure that we all can accurately judge if our post is over-the-top, right?

Rule Number Eleven: New Storylines and Plots.
If we decide to move on and abandon/finish a plot, do not continue the story line by yourself. If you want to continue an old plot line, you can do so but only on your own World. Don't put it in PGR. The purpose of the Leaders choosing a plot every so often is so everyone can be included! If you have a great idea for a next plot, tell us and we'll take it under consideration. We welcome new plot ideas from our members, actually! You need to bring it to the leaders to be approved first, though.
In addition, it's all right if a character goes off and does their own thing (example: Lux and Arc getting captured at Lily's mansion), IF it's leader-approved and essential to a plot OR the individual character's personal development.

Rule Number Twelve: You need to include EVERYONE in your posts.
You don't have to include everyone all at once. But we really don't like it when a member always posts with the SAME few characters. We understand that naturally groups of friends will hang out more than with others, but you need to at least mention other characters in your posts. When you don't include others it makes it very hard for them to continue posting and get their character in on the action. We appreciate diversity in posts, so every so often you need to add new people into your writing.

Rule Number Thirteen: Don't ignore when your character is used in someone else's post.
When your character is included with another's post, please do not act like it didn't happen. We understand sometimes there's a time conflict and one part needs to be dropped, but you should appreciate another member taking the time to add your character into their post. If you ignore it, feelings get hurt.

Rule Number Fourteen: No advertisements for other clubs and non-PGR related challenges.
You are not allowed to advertise for any other club here in PGR. It's rude to the Leaders, like saying their club isn't good enough. Speaking of other clubs, if another club on TheOtaku is wishing to combine forces with us or hold a cross-club party, please come to the leaders FIRST with it. This needs to be approved by the leaders before we continue with it. In the past we have had an issue with PGR being a part of a club bash and the leaders did not know about it until we were already included. Non-leader members are not allowed to speak for the entire club on these matters. We ask for you to bring any party invitations to us FIRST, please. Just a matter of courtesy.
