New Faces

“Alright then, I think we should go and help your friend Ryuu,” Matsu was saying to Aisling and Emiko. The two redheads nodded. “And you?” The white haired man said to Mari.

“I’m coming,” Mari said in a strong voice. “Let’s go!”

Emiko her leader role in play started running down the hall. Aisling turned to her new ‘friends’ or were they her servants? They treated her as if she was their master and it sort of unnerved her. They looked at her and she some how knew that they would follow her every command and follow her where ever she leads them no matter what. She never had been treated with such devotion or loyalty nor did she? It felt like she knew them for a long time but the only memories that related to them were her tarot cards. They looked just like the cards The Knight of Swords and The Page of Wands pictures except their in the flesh so to speak.

“I see you have some new friends, Miss Aisling,” Aisling heard Matsu said she looked at him and he smiled at her. It was a good natured and reassuring smile that put her at ease. “They will be great partners to you. Trust me.” Aisling just nodded.

Then they ran down the hall after Emiko and Mari. Aisling felt Puck and Brant following behind her and she was surprised at how silently they moved. She couldn’t hear Brant’s armor clanking and she was sure normal armor would make noses when moved but then again they were spiritual beings. She tried to keep up with Emiko who had longer legs than her.

“Hey,” Emiko said suddenly slowing down a little to glance back at Aisling. “Could you tell me what are they?” She pointed at the knight and fairy that was tailing them silently.

“Um they’re the spirits of my tarot cards.” Emiko eyes widen and Aisling shrugged. “Uh the fairy is Puck and the Knight’s Brant.” Emiko glanced at the spirits and Puck that was resting on Brant’s armored shoulder waved at her.

“How did this—uh we’ll talk later.” Emiko picked up speed and Aisling barely could muster a weary sigh. She was getting tired of running she was not the most athletic person.

“Are you tired M’ lady?” She heard Puck said behind her. “Do you want Brant to carry you?” She liked the offer but it also embarrassed her.

“Un…no thank you.”

“Well okay but let me turned on the lights. You shouldn’t run around in the dark.” Before Aisling could stop him, she was trying to focus on running and keeping up with Emiko. The lights flickered on and Aisling didn’t know how he did it. She wasn’t exactly grateful as the lights blinded her for a few seconds after getting use to the dark. “Thanks.” Aisling muttered.

“My pleasure M’ lady.”

As they continued running Aisling sensed the dark energies leaving but she knew they weren’t gone for good. Emiko stopped suddenly and Aisling couldn’t stop properly and nearly slipped. She should not have worn flats. She crashed into Emiko and Emiko grabbed her to steady each other.

Emiko glared at Nino who stood there in the hall and glared coldly back at her. Aisling eyes widen and narrowed her eyes suspiciously. She sensed something very dark coming off of Nino and she wondered if he could be possessed. She had met people who had been possessed and it was easy to tell by sensing emotions that belonged to two or more people but there was only one she could see. She stared at Nino and was relieved to discover that he wasn’t possessed.

“Where is Ryuu?” Emiko demanded. Nino said nothing but stare back at her darkly. Aisling looked at one and the other and wondered fearfully if they were going to fight.

“Down the hall.” Nino said finally in a dark tone staring back at them or maybe through them. Aisling made a noise of shock when she saw blood trailing down his throat. He looked at with a cool blank face.

“Wh-what happened…?” Aisling said looking into his eyes. How could he acted like it doesn’t bother him, it looks like the wound doesn’t faze him and there was something off about it. Did a demon do that to him? Aisling realized the dark energy she was sensing before was coming from his wound that a demon or some other dark being had inflicted on him.

“Nothing,” Nino said back at her.

“Explain,” Emiko ordered him. Aisling wasn’t sure if she was talking about the wound on his neck or if she was talking about Ryuu.

“Go look for yourself.” Nino said as he turned away from them and walked away.

“Get back here!” Emiko said to his retreating back angrily.

Aisling watched him leave and couldn’t help but worried for him.

“Are you alright M’ lady?” Puck was now hovering over near Aisling shoulder.

“I’m fine,” Aisling said watching as Mari and Matsu ran into the hallway and Matsu and Nino began talking. She watched with fascination at how Matsu healed Nino’s wounds. She wondered if he was an Empath like her as she saw the Matsu experienced pain by either touching him because of the wound or healing him was painful. “Wish I could heal wounds.”

“I thought you can.” Emiko said as she was watching the two men.

“Not really only minor injuries and it takes a toll on me.” Aisling said sadly.

“If you want to help others like that I suggest you summon the Page of Cups.” Puck said. Aisling blinked at him. “Really?”

Matsu addressed Emiko with a complacent smile and said, “I think we need to find Ryuu, yes?” He laughed lightly. Aisling glanced at him and then at Nino. These two were a different as night and day but some how they seemed to get along and work together. Like yin and yang.

“Right,” Emiko said her tone determined. “Let’s find Ryuu.”

Aisling looked up at her friend. “Right.”

“Don’t forget about me,” Aisling heard Mari spoke and walked over to them.

Aisling looked at Mari and was very surprise to see a baby in her arms. What’s a baby doing here at school at night?! The baby looked at her and made a strange giggle sound that sent a shiver down her spine. It was not a ghost or else Mari couldn’t hold him. It was giving off a strange spirit aura and Aisling thought back to stories about changelings. The deformed fairy babies that were glamour in human appearance and replaced human infants that fairies kidnapped. She eyed at the baby a little wearily.

She glanced at Emiko and her friend was giving the baby a strange but shook it off as they had other things to do. “No time for questions now.” She said more to herself than others.

Aisling glanced at the baby again. Yes questions would have to wait. There were a lot of questions that were swimming in her head and she was feeling worn out.

“I think you should hurry,” Matsu said to Emiko with a light smile and he looked at Nino.

“Hurry,” Nino said and with that Aisling ran with Emiko to find Ryuu.

“Are you sure you don’t want Brant to carry you?” Puck was saying as he fluttered next to Aisling as she was on Emiko’s heels.

“Yeah,” Aisling said then she glanced back at Mari who was walking fast but carefully as she held the baby in her arms. “Mari do you want Brant to hold your new friend?”

Mari glanced at the knight that was lightly following Aisling like a shadow. “No thanks,” she said quickly.

Aisling thought for a moment. Then she turned to Brant, “Carry Mari and make sure nothing happens to Mari or the infant.”

“Huh? Wait—“

“It’s better this way.” Aisling reasoned with her. “You’re slowing us down and Brant can protect you both if there’s trouble.”

Mari said nothing then nodded. Mari and Brant stopped and Aisling slowed down and watch them over her shoulder. Brant gently picked up and carried Mari bridal style. Mari looked a little uneasy but then the baby started laughing and giggling happily. Mari looked down at the infant and smiled.

“Is she a teen mom?” Puck said and Aisling looked at him sharply. Puck gulped at Aisling’s glare and mumbled. “Sorry.”

Aisling took a deep breath and said, “Come on.”

They ran and they found Ryuu slumped on a floor and there were two people one human and one ghost with him.

Emiko rushed to his side. “Ryuu, are you ok? What happened?” To Aisling surprise Ryuu pushed Emiko away and didn’t look at her or anyone in particular. Something was clearly wrong. She could sense he was in turmoil and became very worried.

Aisling was about to go to him put felt someone pull her back. She looked up and saw it was Brant. Being this close she could almost see his eyes through the eye holes. “What?” Aisling said.

“Don’t go near him.” Puck warned her. “Something’s not right about him.”

“What are you talking about? He’s my friend.” Aisling turned to look and saw that he was gone.

“Ryuu?” Aisling called out for him. She tried to shake Brant’s hold but he wouldn’t budge. “Let GO.” Aisling said firmly glaring at the knight. He quickly obeyed. Aisling moved away to look for Ryuu.

“Don’t go near him!” Puck’s tiny hands grasp her sleeve and he tried in vain to stop her from trying to find Ryuu. “Please M’ Lady something’s is really REALLY wrong about him. He smelled like devils.”

Aisling stopped in her tracks and stared at Puck. “Devils?”

“Aisling what’s wrong where’s Ryuu?” Emiko said to me.

“I don’t know he just left when I looked away.” Aisling said looking down. Her eyes moved up to look at the unnamed girl and ghost.

“Hi I’m Hazel and this is Charleston.” Said the girl, “We’re the other investigators that were hired.” Charleston the ghost was hiding behind the girl named Hazel and he was looking at Brant nervously.

“He’s alright he won’t hurt you.” Aisling reassured the ghost child. He looked at her and didn’t look entirely convinced.

“Hi.” An unfamiliar voice said suddenly taking everyone by surprised. Aisling turned and saw a woman standing at the end of the hall way. She looked amused and laughed for surprising them. Aisling resisted the urge to sigh. More new faces. This was getting to be one long night when was the sun going to be up?

Okay that’s it for now. I feel very tired and my back is killing me!! DX
After seeing Clueless101 posted a drawing of Ryuu made me want to do it to. So I will post a drawing of Aisling, Puck and Brant.

Notice that Aisling was acting differently when she ordered Puck and Brant. She’s learning to have a back bone but that’s only when they will act like in a way she doesn’t like.

I'm with Aisling it's been along night how long have they been in the school?
