Unfortunately, this world seems to be mostly dead. I've done some long and hard thinking, and came to the conclusion that it'd be best to shut it down. I don't have the heart to delete it, so this world will remain as is, but guest posting is no longer available. If you are uncomfortable with any of your work still being up, please PM me, so that I can adjust posts. Also, if you have any questions, or would still like to share your work with someone in general, please feel free to me.
I want to thank everyone who ever participated in Otaku Poems. Whether you were a poet or a commenter, or silent audience, thank you. Otaku Poems had a good run~
And we can run, from the backdrop of these gears and scalpels
At every hour goes the tick-tock band of monitors as
The stared us down when we met in the emergency room
And in our beds, I could hear you breathe with help from cold machines
Every hour, on the hour, they drew blood
Well I felt I couldn't take, another day inside this place
From silent dreams we never wake, and in this promise that we'll make
Starless eyes for heaven's sake, but I hear you anyway
Well I thought I heard you
Say I like you, we can get out
We don't have to stay, stay inside this place
Someday, this day, we kept falling down
Someday, this day, set the ferris wheel ablaze
You left my heart an open wound
And I love you for
This day, someday we kept falling down
One day, this day all we had to keep us safe
And if we never sleep again, it would never end
Well I thought I heard you say to me
We'll go so far, far as we can
And I just can't stay, one day we'll run away
Time stands still
When you wish it would fade
It seems to speed up
When you wish it would stay
Such a fickle thing
Time
How many have sought to master it
This unseen force
To bend it to their will
Yet felt it slip by
A constant flow, a never-ending stream
Or perhaps a circle
No beginning, no end
A cycle?
No no that cannot be
Surely there must be and end
As there is with every beginning
But when
Soon as the morrow
Distant as millennia
Who can say
Many have fallen behind the greater flow
Their separate tributaries long dry
But we are still running
Will we see the end
Not likely
Our lives only measure
As separate ripples.
There must be an end
Though no where in sight
But what is an end
Loss of consciousness
Unaware of the world
Or is there something more
And what is life
Simple consciousness
Awareness of breathing and existing
An illusion
A prison
And time is jailer
And bar and chain and brick
And executioner.
Time is truly an insidious thing
Can you not see
It steals your happiness
Prolongs your grief
Tortures with its odd pace
And yet time is ignorant
Its greatest weapon
The set limit
Allotted to us all
Is a blessing
Only when our time is done
Are we free
It can’t understand
That death is not the worst.
And there is its fear
Death
The greatest end
A fear shared by all,
Or only those ignorant of its meaning
The uncertainty
The crushing nothingness
To not exist
Who said this is the way
Where is it written death is the end
We don’t know
We’ve never peered
Beyond the veil
And I will not fear to.
Time fears itself
Cannot understand
That though it has always been
It will not always be
For as we know when things begin
The always have an end
Time is no exception
Will you cry
When your time is up
Will you beg for mercy
An extension
Or will you greet death
As if an old friend?
The days are getting longer,
And my pain seems to be getting stronger,
And even if Im trying to be strong,
Most of my friends have figured out something is wrong,
I fight back the tears when they mention your name,
I try to keep my voice steady and take it like a game,
I act like a bitch, like i straight up dont care,
But if you look long enough,
You can tell there is something still there,
Back in the day pride was all needed to let you go
I would act hard, try to put on a show,
Yet no matter how hard i try,
Now it just doesn't work,
Because when it comes down to it,
Me without you leaves me hurt,
I've tried to get things straight,
And put you aside even behind a new man i've tried to hide
I gave up hope but it hasn't given up on me
That's why this unspeakable pain Wont.Set.Me.Free
This world will never be
As I expected
Why am I not surprised
That you’re behind it
I will not leave behind
All that was once mine
To make you feel like
It wasn’t in vain
It was always in vain
No matter how I try
You just won’t die
I cry out why
And hear no reply
Now and again I’ll try
To save my life
Maybe I’ll take your life one day
‘Cause its not to late
Its never to late
No one will ever see
What you’ve committed
And what a shame it wasn’t needed
Are you proud inside
Your face seems to belie
Your having doubts now
Was it right
It had to be right
I tried and tried
But your still alive
I cry out why
And still no reply
Now and again I’ll try
To save my life
Maybe we’ll both die one day
‘Cause its not to late

The life you stole
Won’t come back
The loss we felt
Cant forget that
The home we had
Won’t be ours again
This world will never be
As I expected
And if I was wrong
I tried and tried

Beyond the sunset
Someone waits for me
Just beyond the sunset
Lies my destiny
Where the purple mountains
Lie in deep tranquility
There I’ll find the treasure
Of love eternally
Just beyond the sunset
Waits someone so fair
Just beyond the sunset
All alone they wait there
Their hair is golden
The color of the sand
Their eyes sparkle in the night
Like diamonds in your hand
Just beyond the sunset
Lies a home for me
Where the world is peaceful
Like a paradise should be
Just beyond the sunset
Someday is where you’ll find me
