Gaken ALICE is one of my most loved animes. It's of the "school life" theme, made more fun by their sort of magical abilities called ALICE. It presents the daily life of the ten-year old Mikan Sakura and her friends in s achool for people with special abilities, Gakuen ALICE(ALICE Academy in English).
The anime series has only 1 season, with 26 episodes all in all. It's quite disappointing actually, for the story becomes more interesting in the later chapters of the manga where it was derived from, also having the same title.
The story of Gakuen ALICE began when Mikan followed her bestfriend, Hotaru Imai, who transferred to Gakuen ALICE. There, it was found out that she too, has an ALICE is therefore admitted to the academy. The following episodes deals with the situations that stems from Mikan's adjustment to school life and to happenings caused by the students' ALICE. As the series progresses, various conflicts are presented, usually centered upon the mysteries that surround the characters. The main characters were quite good, too. Mikan is clumsy and ditzy, possessing the ALICE of Nullification, Hotaru is calm and collected, possessing the ALICE of Invention, Natsume Hyuuga is endearingly arrogant(luv him!), possessing the ALICE of Fire and Ruka Nogi is just so kind, possessing the ALICE Animal Pheromones.
Gakuen ALICE is a very good anime. I just hope they'll add a second seaon, though. The story is quite lacking. So what are you waiting for? Watch Gakuen ALICE now! Better yet, read it's manga!
