Chew it Over

Some things to chew over:

What does the color nine smell like?

Why do they put braille on drive-up ATMs?

If you keep your mind open, won't your brain fall out?

Choosers will be beggers if the begging's not their choosing.

Silence speaks in volumes. Is that why we read?

How do you go east of the North Pole?

How do we travel west of the sun and east of the moon?

Two wrongs don't make a right, but two negatives make a positive.

You can't spell 'slaughter' without 'laughter.'

Is it okay if a vacuum really sucks?

If at first you don't succeed, sky-diving is not for you.

Thou shall love thy neighbor, but thou shall not covet their wife.

A celebrity is someone who works hard all their life to get noticed, then wears dark glasses to avoid being recognized.

What a thoughtless self--I mean a selfless thought.

When you steal from your own home, isn't that called moving?

Worm, as degrading a word, is one letter away from Wyrm (dragon). The case is similar backwards.

my Friend, and my Guardian Monstrosity

my Friend, and my Guardian Monstrosity

Friendship comes in many forms, and the comfort of a friend comes in many
forms as well. Some friends rub your back when you cry. Some give you
advice that, albeit ludicrous or however optimistic it is, makes you smile.
Some treat you to ice cream, even. Not my friend, though.

If I'm out acting all moopy or gloomy (or altogether hyper and
uncontrollable) my gift is a solid thwack in the arm by one of the longest
friends I've ever had. Brutal and sadistic, a little arrogant and rather
self-revolved, her only worst enemy is he own mom, which I don't blame her
for--her mom could stare down a T-Rex for a good half a day without
flinching. In her own way, though, she radiates a comfort, strange to the
touch but stronge and protective.

If someone messes with me, she tears their spleen out. Not literally. She
only maims them a little. Okay not even that (this little sadistic savior
is not a mass murderer despite outward appearances) but you can be sure
that whoever it was targeting the back of your head with hot tamalis isn't
going to try anything like that anytime soon again.

I wonder is anyone else has a friend like that, who, while they're a
monstrosity, they're also what keeps your head facing straight forward as
you walk through the day with reassurance.

This isn't dependence. This is the comfort of a friend.

Even if that comfort comes at the cost of a few bruises in the arm.

'A friend will ask you why you're crying. A BEST friend already has the
shovel ready to bury the loser that made you cry.' (I stole that from an avatar! Sorry! I just liked it!)
