“The Devil’s Trill”

External Image

Yuki had been a normal girl, she was a first year student at Toho university, she was polite, and loved music; especially the classics. What you could not call normal was that she was 100% pro Kira, she would never voice it, but silently each day as she watched the news about the Kira victims she applauded the mysterious vigilante for his extraordinary “cleansing of society.” A silly schoolgirl crush she named it, for she would never be able to meet the real Kira, she deemed herself not worthy for such an honor.

Yawning slightly as she looked out the window, and watched the puffy snow flakes dance down towards earth. Half listening to her teacher’s lecture and the other half just watched the poetic waltz the snowflakes did in the wind.

The lunch bell broke her thoughts and signaled her freedom for a brief moment before she had to return to class. Grabbing her violin case and swinging her book bag over her shoulder, she quickly walked out of the room to meet with her friends at lunch.

A sea of chattering students could be heard from all side of the cafeteria. Sighing a little she soon found her friends with a new addition today. Light Yagami, the honor student? You smiled as your friends waved you down excitedly.

“Yuki! Yuki! There’s another Kira article in the news paper!” They lifted the newspaper up and this automatically brighten up your day. Sitting across from Light you vigorously yanked the paper out of his hands with a smile on your face. You eyes scanned the article in a breeze. Grinning from ear to ear you let out an excited, “Yes! Two more murders and a rapist gone!”

Light only smiled at your actions. ‘She’s like a kid who just got a new toy,’ Light thought as he chuckled.

“Well you seem really excited about Kira don’t you Yuki?” He asked her resting his chin on the top of his interlocked hands.

Her face grew a bright red and before she could answer the young man in front of her one of her friends cut her off.

“You didn’t know! She’s in love with Kira,” On said laughing as the others joined in, which only made her head sink down using the newspaper to hide her face.

“It’s not love!” Yuki said meekly.

“When what is it?” Light asked now curious.

“I just admire him so much. I believe he’s doing the right thing for society,” She replied removing the newspaper from her face.

“You know I work on the Kira case,” Light said with a tiny smirk as if challenging her.

“That’s horrible! Why would you want to capture someone so good!” Yuki shouted. She clasped her hands over her mouth. She had not meant to shout at Light. Just the thought of Kira getting caught made her uneasy.

“You know he’s a murderer Yuki don’t you?” His tone serious, while he eyes bore into hers.

“I know that! But, Light, you of all people should know that justice is not always black and white!”

“Care to explain?” He asked not sure by what she had meant with her metaphor.

“If the murderers and criminals are black and the police force and L is white, then Kira is that exact grey area that the world needs.” She smiled at Light as he was caught off guard by her explanation. “Kira is not afraid to break some rules if it’ll benefit the world! Yes he’s a murderer, but he’s doing a better job the any police officer or prison can do with these criminals.”

Light and her friends just stared at her in awe. Who knew that Yuki could be that deep. She scowled at them a little. “Give me some credit, I got into Toho University like all of you.” Annoyed a little she picked up her things and left.

[Light POV]

I was doubtful about this girl at first. She reminded me a lot of Misa, with her Kira obsession. But, she surprised me today with her speech. I had not mean to upset her, but I guess playing the son of a FBI agent was very contradicting to what I really am. Kira.

My eyes followed her when I noticed her violin case. She would surely be in the music room later. I’d confront her there later. Light had found his perfect companion. Someone who understood his motives, and like a true follower didn’t question his method. Light, no Kira had found his Goddess.

[Yuki POV =after school=]

Classes had finished for the day, yet I was still upset at Light and my friends. How rude of them, ask me for my opinion then stare at me like, “Did that come out of her mouth? I didn’t think she could think like that.”

The mere thought made me upset. My shoes clicked against the pretty much-deserted music hall. Pulling up a chair for my stuff. I placed it on the chair, still holding on to my violin case, I placed it down on the cold floor in front me, and opened the silver clasps. The lacquer finish on my violin sparkled and beckoned for me to play, even just for a little.

Picking it up gingerly like a baby, holding the neck of the violin while the bow in the other. Placing it under my chin I took a deep breath and my bow made its first contact with the strings. Meaningless notes soon turned into a beautiful sonata. You didn’t recognize the piece at first but soon remembered it to be “The Devil’s Trill.” You don’t remember ever mastering this piece but a wave of accomplishment washed over you as note after note you continued to play.

[Third POV]

Light had finally found the music hall with some difficulty along the way. The exciting song of the violin echoed through the halls and Light found himself caught in a choke hold to the wonderful piece and only found himself following the sound.

He opened one of the rooms that were cracked open, letting the music flood out. He leaned against the doorframe as he watched his Goddess play her heart out. As the piece ended Light started clapping slowly, this started Yuki for only a moment. She turned her head and bent down to put her violin and bow away back in its protective case.

“What was that piece called?”

Yuki frowned a little, why was he still talking to her, “The Devil’s Trill.”

“The Devil’s Trill hm? For such a dark name it’s very beautiful,” Light commented.

A smile tugged at the corner of her lips. Of course Light would be cultured like this. He was too perfect not to be.

Yuki walked up to Light nonchalantly. She looked up at him, craning her neck, for he was a head taller than her. “Excuse me Light,” She said politely.

Light did not reply but just stared down her. Yuki frowned, and touched her face to see if there was anything wrong with it. Finding nothing, she glanced back up at him nervously. She was growing weary under his stare.

“Light, I said excuse-“ Light’s lips crashing down on hers cut off Yuki. There was nothing gentle about the way Light ferociously captured her lips. Yuki gasped lightly Light took the opportunity to glide his tongue past Yuki’s lips, exploring her mouth Yuki began to feel her knees become weak, it hit her, this was Light. He slightly pushed herself off him. Panting lightly, her flushed face tried to muster up a glare at him.

“What was that?” Yuki demanded breathless.

“An invitation from Kira.”

Yuki just glared at him now, “Quit mocking me Light.”

“Yuki, I am Kira,” Light said whispering into her ear, his hot breath making her shiver, “And I was please today at lunch of how highly you spoke of me. So pleased that I want you my Goddess.”

Yuki blinked in confusion. Was he on drugs? “I don’t believe you Light.”

“I’ll prove it to you in time, but for now you’ll have to trust me.” Light said stroking her hair lightly. “Do you?”

Yuki bit her lip, ‘Did I trust him?’ For all Yuki could guess Light could still be trying to mess with her. It wasn’t every day that Light would come up to a girl make up some crazy lie just to get her to be with him. Wrapping her arms around him she just smiled happily.

Yuki looked up to meet his chocolate brown eyes, “Having Kira is nice, but for now I’m happy with Light.”

**Omake**
This is dedicated to Jessi-Skeleton! She requested well Light of course. And I had to make up on OC for her, so I hope that this is okay. >x>;; Damn it Light is so complicated too!!

=Flash Back Jerrica POV=

“I want to help you Ryuuzaki, or should I say L,” I saidstaring at the man before me.

His midnight black hair, with eyes to match. The dark rings under his eyes only gave him a mysterious look to him, as he sat in his usual crouching position. He seemed to be thinking carefully of his next words, calculating his actions.

I admit, the man sitting before me was not the man I waspicturing who hid behind his computer. He seemed a lot more normal than I had pictured, and a lot more handsome.

I had worked with Souichiro Yagami once before, and enjoyed it.The thrill of bringing the hammer of justice on criminals was exhilarating. When I had received information that he was working with THE L, I had to jump on this case. But, my experience was no “great enough” so they told me. Lies. They just didn’t want to pay another officer. I took the liberty to volunteer my services to L and hope that he would accept me.

His voice brought my attention back to him. “Why would you endanger yourself by willingly getting involved with this case.” His question was more of a statement, a warning of some sort.

“For justice.”

My answer didn’t faze him. A smile tugged the corner of his lips. He was indeed pleased with my answer. “Welcome to the Kira case Jerrica.”

=End Flash Back=

[Jerrica POV]

When I meant help I expected to working with the other officersand L himself. So when I was asked to observe Light Yagami, who was suspectedas by a mere 5%, I was dumbfounded. But, at the end of each day I would reportto L and give him my observations. L could always just observe him, but L’sreasoning is that I was not a threat so he’d act more natural around myself than he would with L.

This routine had been going on for 6 months and each day themore time I spent with L I started to notice the little things about him. Despite being a genius he was like a child. A love of sweets, his competitivespirit, and his undying passion in anything he did. You could say I developed atiny, whom was I trying to kid; I really liked L. It was those qualities that Isaw that made me fall harder and harder.

“Jerrica,” Light called out to me breaking my daydream trance.

“Hm?” I responded glancing at him.

“So you joined the case on your own free will? Unpaid andeverything?” Light asked a little astonished. No surprise really, he finallyheard about it.

“Let’s call it my good deed to society.” I said jokingly, Ilaughed a little and returned back to my task at hand.

Light’s persona suddenly changed. His aura more sinister, I couldn’t place my finger on it, but it frightened me again. I felt that he was right behind me, his hot breath touching the nape of my neck. I started tobecome nervous but I did not turn around to meet his eyes.

“Kira is doing a favor for society. Your good deed is nothing,”Light’s voice was low, and held a hint of resentment and all knowing. I winced a little, and my body grew ridged. When L meant more natural he wasn’t kidding. He would never act this way if anyone else were in the room.

He backed away and my muscles relaxed as he distanced himselffrom me. I looked back and caught a glimpse of his features. His usual soft smile was twisted and contorted into something wicked. His eyes shown a ruby red, or was that just my imagination.

“Remember this Jerrica, no good deed goes unpunished,” Lightsaid about a whisper, but I still caught it.

This was definitely not the norm for Light, and I would definitely have something interesting to report to L tonight.

[Third POV]

Light walked away from Jerrica, Ryuk floating next to him. Ryukjust chuckled at Light a little.

As he walked into the next room Light shut the door and locked it. A low chuckled started to spill from Light’s lips, which erupted into an insane cackle.

“Just how stupid does she think I am,” Light said to no one,but knew that Ryuk would answer him anyway.

“You just gave yourself away Light. You realize that don’t you?”Ryuk questioned.

“Of course, I want Ryuuzaki to figure it out before hisuntimely end. This game of cat and mouse is going to end soon. Very soon.” Asmirk graced Light’s shadowy features.

[L POV]

I continued to watch surveillance videos. I carefully watchedMisa, or the second Kira carefully to see if I could catch any suspicious actions. The sudden clicking noise of the doorknob being opening drew my attention.

‘It must be urgent if whoever it is didn’t bother to knock,’ I concluded as I saw the door opening swiftly revealing Jerrica. I noted that shehad a look of shock and confusion.

“What’s the matter?” I asked my tone sounding less enthused thanI had hoped.

“Light, he- and something weird was-“ She babbled out using herhand to try and help her ease out her speech, but it failed.

I scooted over and looked at her, she took the hint and stopped talking and sat next to me trying to recollect herself. I observed her faintly; she seemed to be shaken up about something. Her hair hung casting shadows overher petite face. The light radiating off the monitors made her appearance have a glowing effect. I shut my eyes to try and fix the image in front of me. WhenI opened them Jerrica still had that angelic glow around her form.

“Have you calmed down,” I asked my voice softening, trying tomake her feel better. I was never good at comforting people, especially the female population. But, I tried none the less. If it had anything to do with Light then I was partially to blame for Jerrica’s distress. I felt the need to comfort her now.

She nodded and looked at me with those eyes that seemed to suck me in. Reaching out I pushed back a piece of her hair that dangled in her face,my fingertips lightly brushing against her cheek. A small blush rose to her face and I retracted my hand quickly; it was as if my hand moved on it’s own.

“L, Light, he was acting so strange. It was as if he was a completely different person! He gave off a very wicked aura and it scared me, especially what he said,” She rambled, getting more flustered as she spoke.

“What did he say?” I asked out of curiosity.

“’No good deed goes unpunished.’ What do you think he meant?” She asked frantically leaning forward placing her hands on my shoulders her eyes searching my face for an answer.

‘What did Light mean by that?’ I would ponder that later. Fornow, Jerrica still seemed like she was hiding something.

“Jerrica is something-“ I cut myself off as Jerrica wrapped her arms around me pulling me into a hug. It didn’t feel right, like she was tryingto hold onto me, telling me not to leave her.

My heart raced a little from the close contact. My hands awkwardly found its way around Jerrica as well. I felt her tense up, but soon relax.

“L, am I doing the right thing?” She asked me suddenly.

I was taken back from the simple question. What was the thingshe was doing right? I couldn’t give an answer if I didn’t know the entirequestion. I assumed she meant about joining the Kira case.

“Of course you are. Your sense of justice is profound, I thinkit’s just as great as my own.” I hoped that I had said the right thing.

Releasing her embrace from mine she looked up into my eyes. I noted, doubt, reassurance, relief, and something else I couldn’t pin point, longing? Those eyes, like a hypnotist it worked its magic and it was like I was drowning in its emotion.

[Jerrica POV]

L complimented me. I couldn’t believe it! I was so happy, but I still felt empty deep down. L was right here, but he felt farther away than ever. Light’s words no longer bothered me, thanks to L.

As he looked down at me, he seemed lost in his own body, or hewas thinking really hard about something.

‘This is my chance,’ I thought to myself. Summoning all my courage and nerve, I slowly leaned in further. My full lips met with L’s pale ones. It was short and sweet. Emphasis on the sweet. My lips definitely stasted all his sweets that he devoured just before.

I tried to find a reaction on his face. There was none, typical L. I sighed a little getting depressed. No reaction was worse than a bad one. Iturned from his calculating gaze, embarrassed and feeling really stupid.

“Love.”

I snapped my head back to look at him. His eyes dilated alittle, maybe from the shock of the kiss. Talk about your late reactions.

“It wasn’t longing, it was love,” L concluded just like he hadsolved another case. “Am I right?”

Why did he have to embarrass me anymore, by asking? I nodded curtly, and L just smiled a little. I was taken back this was a real smile.

“I can’t accept your love now,” L said seriously, “After I lock up Kira for good, I want to be able to fall in love with you as well.”

Tears welled up in my eyes. There was a definite chance. He didn’t reject me. In his own special way he accepted my love. I was happy, andeven more determined to capture Kira. Lunging at L I wrapped my arms around himcrying happily.

“Thank you so much L,” I sang holding him closer, “I love you.”I whispered the last part to him.

“I love you too Jerrica, and no thank you.”

[2 weeks later Jerrica POV]

It had been two weeks since I confessed my love to L. I was happy that apparently it even began to show in my work performance. Matsuda was teasing me about having a boyfriend every now and then. Even Light asked me one day.

-Flash Back yesterday-

“Jerrica you seem awfully happy,” Light commented with a small laugh.

I was still weary of Light after his 180 two weeks ago, but I remained the same as ever around him.

“Do I really?” I asked nonchalantly. I stirred my coffee contently.

“Yeah, even Ryuuzaki seems a lo happier than usual, if that’seven possible.” Light commented.

My hand ceased its stirring action. Had Light found out aboutmy confession? I looked at him with my brow cocked up.

“Is something going on between you two?” He asked with an all-knowing smile.

“Of course not Light! That’s unprofessional!” I spat back quicker than I had hoped. I bit my lip as I stared at that damned smirk plastered on his face.

“Sure of course not.” He left without a word as I nervously sipped my coffee, that aura was back.

-Flash Back End-

I was in the back of the surveillance room reading some documents that L had given me a while ago. Scanning each line by line I read vigilantly. I grew tired of the tedious task and I looked up to only be met by L’s back faced towards me. I sighed a little he was so dedicated. I guessthat’s why I couldn’t wait for this case to end. If he was this dedicated tothis case, just imagine how dedicated he’s be to me after. The mere thought made you giggled like a schoolgirl once again.

This earned you an odd stare by Light who rolled his eyes and went back to watching the many screens in front of him. L on the other hand just gave you a secret smile and returned to his work.

You were satisfied, L always found ways to give you attention in his own way and work at the same time. It always made you happy when he showed you his little affection notions. My gaze lingered on L for a whilemore. I saw his body to ridged. I will never forget the next three sounds ever in my life.

The high-pitched “clank” of L’s coffee spoon hitting the cold metal floor. That was all that it took for a wave of panic to rush over my body. Next L’s body falling off his chair. The sound of the wheels rolling shook my body like an earthquake. And finally, Light’s frantic shout.

“RYUUZAKI”

Light lunged forward and caught L’s body before he hit thefloor. I finally reacted and ran to L, in a panic I hit the edge of the table I was sitting on, the documents that were once in a neat pile now rained down upon the floor. Everyone in the room was in such shock. Who wouldn’t be? L just collapsed.

Running up to Light who currently held L in his arms. My heart pumped faster and faster with each step I took. I kneeled down so I was staring down at L he looked so pained. His eyes trying to stay open.

“L!” I shouted grabbing his hand and held it close to my heart, while the other brushed his long bangs out of his face, so I could look at him better. I felt helpless, he was right in front of me and I couldn’t do a damn thing!

His mouth opened like he was trying to say something his eyes wide with realization. When I noticed that he wasn’t looking at me. My eyes followed his gaze, it landed on Light’s face. My eye’s widened again, out of fear. Light’s face was contorted back to that sinister smile and those glowing red eyes, this time I was not imagining things. It all fell down on me like alead weight, and I’m sure L figured it out too.

Light was Kira.

Kira, no, Light murdered L.

I pushed Light away and took L in my arms. “Stay away!” I shouted at Light, tears now poured from my eyes. I felt sick. Sick that I didn’t realize it a lot sooner. It was my fault. All mine.

My self loathing was interrupted by L weakly touching my cheek.I looked down at him, more tears flowed out, dripping onto his cheek. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” I chanted over and over again not tearing my eyes away from his.

L just weakly smiled and mouthed out, “Don’t be.”

His hand dropped from my face. I was in denial; he couldn’t be dead! All I could do was sit there and cry over L’s lifeless body. My heart shattered and broke, it hurt so much.

“It’s not fair,” I mumbled over and over. Matsuda helped me upand escorted me out of the room, no matter how much I shouted, kicked and threw a fit it would never change anything. I just refused to accept it. Kira was right there but I had no solid evidence!

“It’s not fair!” I screamed once more before I was completely out of the room. I knew Light had that smirk on his face. And I wanted nothing more than to wipe it off his face.

=At L’s Grave=

The light clicking oh my heels were heard as I made my way to L’s grave after his funeral. A bouquet of chrysanthemums and cypress leaves. Chrysanthemums signifying loyal love, while cypress leave signifying mourning. I gripped the bouquet tighter as I saw the last person I wanted to see ever!

Light stood over his gave, a look a triumph painted on his face. My anger grew as he noticed my presence. I just stared at the ground as Icame face to face with Light or should I say Kira.

“Jerrica,” He greeted casually with his grin widening.

“Kira,” I responded with malice hanging off every word.

“So you solved the case,” He mocked.

Ignoring his obvious attempt to spark my anger again. Icrouched down and gingerly placed the bouquet on his gave. I felt a the sting of tears as I read his name on his tomb stone “L Lawleit”.

I heard light take a few steps back, “Didn’t I tell you no gooddeed goes unpunished?” He made his leave his obnoxious laughter echoing in myeyes.

I clasped my hands over my ears to block out the sickening sound. I didn’t retaliate; this was my punishment, sent down by God, not Kira.I would not give Light the satisfaction of seeing me cry again. Waiting for him to be out of eye sight, I made sure I was safe. Safe to cry in front of the man whom I still loved.

“I promise no good deed will I attempt to do again.”

{Chinami POV}

“He really has changed, he’s not the Sasuke we knew, Chinami. He tried to kill Naruto, I never thought that our reunion would be so heartbreaking,” Sakura said looking down at her swinging feet as she sat together with me. We hadn’t talked much but there was one thing that we shared in common. We both love, Sasuke Uchiha.

My brows furrowed, I couldn’t imagine Sasuke trying to kill Naruto without so much as a blink of an eye. But, Sakura had saw him on their last mission, so it had to be true. But, I just couldn’t bring myself to believe it. So I just smiled and blocked it out.

“Don’t worry about it Sakura. At least you know that Sasuke is okay and not Orochimaru’s new toy,” I forced out a laugh to make her smile ever so slightly. I could never share Sasuke if I had him, but neither Sakura nor I did, but she was already one step ahead of me.

I would never admit it, but I had hoped that I would be the one to see Sasuke first after all those years.

“So was Sasuke still as good looking as ever?” I asked playfully still trying to cheer up the pink haired girl. Her frown was placed with a tiny dreamy smile.

“Still the same as ever! His looks matured so much! If only you were there to see him Chinami!” She exclaimed recalling the vivid image. Bitterly all I could do was close my eyes and picture the same raven-haired boy who left three years ago. Clad in his same high collared navy blue shirt and that cold expression he always wore.

“Sakura let’s call it a day shall we? We can talk about Sasuke all we want another time,” I joked. The more I smiled the more my heart broke. It was always Sakura. Sakura this. Sakura that. I stood by Sasuke for so long and supported the cold bastard and just like that he left without a single good bye.

I waved farewell to Sakura as she turned to walk away. When I could no longer see her I bit my lip to stop the sting of tears. I never asked for anything, but I’ve never wanted anything more than Sasuke.

[2 months later]

“Chinami, are you listening to me?” Tsunade asked me a little annoyed by now.

Since my last talk with Sakura I had been a little spacey lately. Sasuke plagued my mind, if I wasn’t thinking about something important, then my mind somehow wondered back to Sasuke. Not that I minded at all, but it just got a lot more depressing as the days passed. At some point I accepted that it would be a long time until I was reunited with Sasuke, or I would never see him again. I was content with my day dreaming, for now.

“Hm, of course I was Tsunade,” I replied. My voice laced in a very sarcastic tone.

This was just another “Sasuke rescue mission.” One after another they all failed. I was not excited at all, this would most likely be a failure just like the last, but this mission was my own solo mission, at least I didn’t have to worry about comrades getting injured.

“Good, then you leave now.”

I gaze a half assed bow and turned my heel to leave. Before I made it out the door I was stopped by Tsunade’s voice.

“I know you’re angry that you weren’t allowed to accompany Team 7 on their mission,” Tsunade said and it hit a nerve.

“I really don’t know what you’re talking about. It would not have made a difference if I had gone or not. Sasuke would still be a missing nin.” I spat out not turning around to talk to her. With that said I opened the door and slammed it behind me.

[Sasuke POV]

Karin snuggled up next to me around the campfire as Jugo and Suigetsu bickered about something silly.

My heart grew heavy as so many thoughts flew around my head. Itachi was good. Itachi saved the village. Itachi this. Itachi that. Even after he was dead he still plagued my thoughts and taunted my every action. I doubted myself a little by gave myself a mental slap in the face. My new mission was to destroy the village that took everything away from me. I was still an avenger.

Nostalgia took over for a moment as I thought back to the academy days. I thought about her. If it had been Chinami there to stop me, would I have left. There was no use thinking about it now; what’s done is done. Still, it was always nice to reminisce.

-Flash Back-

Out of breathe continued to run from the mini mob following close behind. It seemed that my “fan club” got a lot bolder today and started following me, which lead into a chase montage.

Hiding briefly behind some trees, near the training grounds, to catch my breath I started to hear their shrill voiced draw closer.

‘Damn it,’ I thought as I tried to quiet my breathing.

Just as I thought I was going to be caught I felt myself being yanked up violently by my shirt collar into the tree I was seeking refuge. I was going to yell at the person for choking me but I was cut off by a pair of small hands slamming against mouth to shut me up.

I looked up to meet a pair of grey blue eyes. The girl before smiled a little, her dark hair framing her face perfectly. She broke eye contact as she firmly kept her hands over my mouth as she gazed down at the group of girls as they walked right under and past us.

When the coast was clear she removed her hands and let out a sigh of relief. “That was a close one, right Sasuke?” Her voiced sounded more like a question than a statement. I just furrowed my brows and scoffed.

“I’ll take that as my thank you,” She laughed as she turned and smiled at me.

I felt my face heat up a little, no girl has ever acted to forward before, it was something I wasn’t use to.

“Chinami Keako,” She said all of a sudden.

“Excuse me?” I asked not sure what she meant.

“My name is Chinami Keako,” She repeated with a small pout. I nodded slightly showing her I understood.

She jumped out of the tree and landed on her feet gracefully. Looking back up at me she smiled again. “Don’t stay up there too long now! Or else I’ll have to save you again!” She found it amusing but I just ignored the comment and sat there brooding.

“I’ll see you tomorrow in class Sasuke! Remember my name now or I’ll have to hurt you!” Chinami exclaimed as she waved good-bye to me.

As she walked away I stole a glance. It was love at first sight.

-End Flash Back-

I must have been reminiscing too long. I looked over and saw Karin asleep soundly leaning against my shoulder. Carefully I placed her down on the grass as she continued to sleep soundly. My peaceful state of mind was disturbed as I felt an eerily familiar chakara. My guard was now up, I decided to do some investigating. There was no need to disturb everyone else because of my curiosity.

Dashing from tree to tree soundly my black coat flapped behind me silently. Abruptly I stopped when I found the source of the chakara. My heart stopped. There was Chinami, she just sat at her own campfire without a care in the world. You glared at her slightly.

‘Why was she here? Unless she was sent to find me.’ I thought

Leaning forward to get a better look at her, she still looked the same. The same grey blue eyes and dark shimmering hair. Only now she much older and more beautiful than before.

In a blink of an eye Sasuke caught a shuriken between his fingers. He pressed his luck too far. Chinami was glaring in the direction that he lay hidden. Sasuke’s heart raced with adrenalin as he gazed upon her dark features. All’s fair in love and war.

[Chinami POV]

“Sasuke I know it’s you, come out!” I shouted as you felt your blood rush from anger.

Without hesitation Sasuke immerged from his pathetic hiding place. If I hadn’t known better, Sasuke wanted to be found out. I continued to glare at him, keeping your guard up.

“Chinami,” he finally spoke. I lost your nerve. He sounded sincere, cold but sincere. “You’re not bringing me back.” He cut straight to the point.

His gaze not changing as he spoke, I was at a loss for words. “Then I’ll make you come back!” I yelled back trying not to lose my cool anymore.

“You’re going to die if you fight me. You’re not stupid Chinami.”

I stood my ground he was right. If fighting wasn’t going to bring him back maybe words would.

“It’s not fair,” that’s all it took to gain his attention. “You always get what you want! And don’t act like you don’t! Word spreads fast Sasuke! I know you took your revenge on Itachi! So-“ I started to choke on my words and I felt myself gasping for air. Panic took over my body as the tips of my toes just barely grazed the ground.

Sasuke’s grip around my neck stayed firm as he gazed into my eyes. I couldn’t read his emotions, and it scared me.

“I get what I want?” Sasuke’s voice was so calm it shook me to the core. “Chinami, I never get what I want. Power, Justice, Closure, but I never get it no matter how hard I work!” His voice dripping with venom as he spoke to you.

A single tear slipped from my eyes as he continued. “Itachi wasn’t what I thought he was! Everything I knew growing up was a lie! I’m once again an avenger Chinami! So don’t you dare tell me I get everything.”

“Sasuke, I’m sorry,” I said between gasps for air.

Sasuke suddenly released you from his vice grip. Your hand shot up to your throat as you flew to the ground. You sat there in a daze and feeling light headed from the lack of air supply. I coughed harshl, I never felt so happy to do something as breath in my life.

Sasuke kneeled down to my eye level. Grabbing a hold on to me face I were forced to look into his coal black eyes.

“I want it all Chinami. I want you.”

The words did not register as he placed a simple kiss on my lips. He didn’t take it any farther. The words hit me hard as he pulled away slowly; my heart began to ache. I shut my eyes and let three years worth of tears spill out.

“You jerk! Why couldn’t you say that before you left!” I ripped my face out of his grip and sobbed into my hands.

"Because I couldn't have you." These words only made you cry harder.

“Shinobi rule number 25, ‘A shinobi never shows their heart’s emotion’” Sasuke recited the rules from he academy days. Screw the academy, I was still human. I loved Sasuke, and I don’t care if I was faulted for it.

Sasuke got up without a word. With his back turned towards me, the dull pain sharpened. This is how Sakura must have felt. He was leaving again. Dashing to my feet I wrapped my arms around his waist pulling him close.

“Sasuke don’t leave again!”

“The next time you see me, I’ll be your enemy again, and it’ll be our last reunion.” My hands dropped abruptly, and hung limp. He walked away without a word, again. Just like that.

“Jerk,” I whispered to myself, “I want it all too.”

This was what I expected from the stoic Uchiha.

This was Sasuke’s final good bye.

This one shot was requested by KunoichiCat, and this is her OC Chinami Kaeko. I really hope that I did a good or at least decent job of catpuring both Sasuke and Chinami. Sasuke was had enough since he's like a brick wall. :/ I think this one was kind of sad, not tragically sad but a little angst never killed anyone. So Thank you all for reading!

“Shut Up Atobe”

External Image

You sat in the crowded class at Hyoutei Gakuen. It wasn’t that your class was a large one per say. It was just over populated with said, Atobe Keigo’s many adoring fans. Their constant chattering and praised towards the Hyoutei captain was like nails on a chalkboard to you as you couldn’t help but try and block out their meaningless blabbering.
Any normal person would grow tired of the same praises day in and day out. But, Atobe was not a normal person. And that’s what attracted you to the handsome captain. He was unique and you could definitely understand what gave him his inflated ego, but your deepest desire was to just one shut him up.

As more girls invaded your class you could hear Atobe’s deep sultry voice over the high pitches voices that surrounded him as he made small chat with the girls who fought for his undivided attention. You fought with yourself to not steal a glance but gave in to it.

Typical Atobe, he had that same smirk plastered on his face, and that undeniable air of confidence around him. Your lips twitched in annoyance one he opened his mouth to speak again as the new comers greeted him.
“Have you come to be graced with Ore sama’s presence as well?” He asked with a clear flirtatious tone laced with his words. The squeals that followed right after set you off the edge.

Rising from your seat you nonchalantly made your way to Atobe’s seat; which was across the room from yours.
The girls seemed to notice you and cleared a path keeping away from you like the plague. Was your air of annoyance that obvious? Apparently so, you parted the sea of girls until you caught sight of the smug captain.

You crossed your arms over your chest and just stared at him annoyed. His brow raised in confusion.

“Well this is a surprise. Have you come to be graced by Ore sama as well __________?”

That’s it!

Reaching you arm out of a fluid motion you tightly griped his uniform tie and yanked it towards you. The sudden jerking action caught Atobe off guard. His eyes widening form the initial shock, as he flew forward you leaned forward.

His lips locked with yours, you looked at him through hooded eyes. As quickly as you kissed him you pushed him off. You smiled triumphantly as the girls around the both of you just stared. Many had their jaws hanging open, all at a loss for words. But it wasn’t their reactions that made you smirk.

It was Atobe’s.

Lips still slightly parted. His stormy grey eyes staring at you in awe. But best of all, he was just as silent as his fans. He didn’t know what to say. By a simple kiss you literally sealed his lips shut, even if it was for a moment. You were the first to break the eerie silence.

Atobe, Shut up.”

Your words were not harsh, nor held any spiteful intention in it at all. You gave him a smile and laughed a little.
You definitely enjoyed the silence. You turned your heel and walked back to your seat like nothing had happened.
Before Atobe could think of anything to say, the bell had rung and class began. All through class Atobe was quite and he just started thinking; thinking about everything, including you.

->Fast Forward->

You walked pass the tennis courts like you usually did after school. It was your daily ritual as you made your way to the school gates to go home. But a voice called your name out as you passed this time.

It was Atobe, he jogged up to you. And he looked sort of angry.

“Yes Atobe?” You questioned raising a brow at him.

“Why did you kiss Ore sama then tell me to, ‘Shut up,’” He asked sounding a little bitter.

You opened your mouth to answer but was cut off by him.

“Hasn’t anyone ever told you it is rude to kiss someone then tell them to shut up? I mean why would you even do that any-“

You placing your lips against his for the second time today cut him off abruptly. “Atobe, shut up,” You said looking up at him. You created a little space between the two of you before you spoke again, “What does a kiss mean?”

“That you’re in love with someone obviously?” Atobe stated simply.

“If it’s so obvious then why did you ask why I did it?” You said kind of hurt.

Atobe was taken back by her answer. Never in his life had be met someone so straight forward. He found it strangely attractive, he smiled. Not smirked, but smiled.

“Sorry I didn’t get it the first time, is there anything Ore sama can do to make it up to you?”

“Atobe,” You paused and drew yourself closer to him, “Shut up and kiss me.”

Without another word Atobe granted your request. His lips caressing your own with such a passion that only Atobe could possess.

Who would have thought that, “Shut up,” would lead him to the girl of his dreams.
