New Year's

Shogo wasn’t looking forward to the New Year.

After being told that he had an arrhythmia or something (that sounded super upsetting and BAD so he’d followed the doctor’s instructions, taken it easy and eaten properly) he had been convinced that he couldn’t do anything too strenuous, and, because of Soshi, he was also under house arrest. So-chan was something else, though, and even Shogo could admit it; he’d gotten so strong as of late, and Shogo didn’t want to upset him (he may have put the blonde in the hospital if he wasn’t careful). The thought scared the ever-living hell out of the Tomoku-hasu, and it showed in his face as he spun away from his window, covering his mouth as he trembled. “Ps…psycho…”

Because he was under “house arrest” he couldn’t go anywhere on New Year’s, which sucked because he was actually old enough to drink that year (he’d turned twenty six months before), and had really been looking forward to it…besides, it wasn’t like he had a girlfriend, so he would be spending the holiday….alone.

Alone…

He rested his head on the palm of his hand, thinking. “What am I going to do here?” Other than bird watching (which turned out a lot more interesting than he’d previously thought), he had nothing to do most of the time. He didn’t have a television- it was one of the many habits he had as a shinobi- and he wasn’t entirely sure of how to use his computer (he only used it for work), so he was basically stuck, sitting alone in his house, wandering around, so he was happy when the door opened and Soshi slipped in, completely uninvited. “Hey! Who the hell do you think you are, sneaking in without knocking?” Shogo fumed, but he was elated.

“You were bored, you can’t fool me…” Soshi smirked a little, turning on the lights. “Why were you sitting in a completely dark room? Are you turning into a vampire?”

“Maybe. There’s nothing else to do here. It would be good to get out at night and MEET PRETTY WOMEN!” Shogo yelled indignantly. “I’LL NEVER GET MARRIED IF I STAY COOPED UP LIKE THIS, IF I HAVE ANOTHER DAY OF THIS I’LL-” At that moment, he attempted to run past Soshi and escape his prison, but the brunette caught him by the collar of his blue hoodie and calmly held him there, hoisting him a few feet above the ground with ease.

“You won’t get away that easily, bro. Calm your tits. Don’t you always tell me that?” Soshi asked, his voice soft.

“Oh. I thought you were going to disembowel me or something. You’re not super aggressive anymore…” Shogo mused, but suddenly something else dawned on him. “AAAUGH! NO, LET ME GO, DAMMIT! I want sunlight…erm, moonlight.” He whined, attempting to touch the ground by flailing his legs.

Soshi closed his eyes. “You want to go out on New Year’s Eve, don’t you?”

“Yes~! Yes, I do!” Shogo whined, “Please let me go, I’m begging! I’m begging, see?” He clasped his hands together. “You’re sadistic, right? You like when people beg, right?”

With a thump, Shogo’s behind hit the hardwood floor. “You…” The Amori’s cheeks flushed in irritation. “I am NOT sadistic! My WIFE is sadistic!”

“Could’ve fooled me…” He muttered, and he began to crawl on all fours to the door as discreetly as possible.

“Kimikura Shogo…” Soshi’s voice was suddenly very threatening, so threatening in fact, that Shogo stopped crawling, his eyes widening.

“Gyaaahhh, please have mercy!” He cried, raising his hands before he spoke so quickly it sounded as though he was regurgitating words. “I’m sorry if I made you angry butyouscaremebecausesometimesyouactlikeanangrywife!”

With a sigh, Soshi lowered his arms. “…sorry.” His eyes cast to the ceiling before pinching the bridge of his nose with his index finger and thumb. “You’re…like a kid sometimes. I forget that you aren’t as reckless as Danielle…” His voice lowered a bit, almost as if he was muttering to himself. “But you put yourself into bad shape…” Blinking, he asked, “…did you say I act like an angry wife?”

“Yare, yare, it’s nothing, nothing.” Shogo said, waving his hands in front of himself. “So I can go out on New Year’s?”

“No.” His answer was automatic.

“Why not?!”

“You are unwell.” Soshi answered. “I don’t trust you out there right now.”

“But…I’m fine right now! Isn’t going to a party part of unwinding?” Shogo said, attempting to cajole him.

“…mm.” The brunette seemed completely un-amused by this statement. “Unwind some other way.”

“But…but partiiiiiiiiiies. And New Year! And hnnnngggggg….!” Shogo cried.

With his arms crossed over his chest, Soshi studied him for a moment. “Have you eaten today?”

“Scrambled eggs, a few pieces of toast, bacon and orange juice for breakfast, sandwiches, soup and a beer for lunch-”

“A beer?”

“I was kidding!” Shogo exclaimed (and he had been, though maybe it wasn’t such a good idea in hindsight), “I had a bento for lunch too and hotpot for dinner!”

“And last night?”

“AUGH! Soshi, what the hell, man!? You aren’t my mom!” Shogo flailed. “I mean, come on, I’ve eaten and slept and shit and EVERYTHING, alright?! Eight hours a night, three meals a day, five shits a day unless I have more than one cup of tea.”

“Vulgar.”

“I WANT TO GET OUT.”

“….okay.”

“I DON’T CARE IF YOU TELL ME I CAN’T, I’LL SNEAK OUT IN THE MI- did you just say yes?” Brown eyes widened in awe as Shogo stopped throwing his tantrum, his hands touching the floor as he leaned forward, looking up to see Soshi’s face.

“I did.” He glanced at the door. “And you can have the entire day off tomorrow, too.”

“YES!” The blonde cried. “I’m so happy I could cr-”

“You should probably shave.” Soshi put in, placing his hands in his pockets. “And take a shower. How many days have you been wearing that hoodie?”

“ONLY ONE, YOU PRICK! I’M NOT A SLOB!” He absentmindedly touched his face, though, only to find that there was nothing to shave. “You’re trying to get me worked up over nothing!”

“Sure, sure. I’ll see you at ten.” After listening to Shogo’s elated screams of joy, Soshi closed the door, locking it behind him, before he headed home to his wife. The door was open when he returned, something that unnerved him a bit, though he continued into the house nonetheless.
