We Three Kings

"Are we there yet?"

Drew frowned at the other blonde in the group, glancing back at him as he sat on his camel. "No."

"I don't understand why we have to use camels...I thought we all knew the spell for 'flight'..." Bruce sighed, but a shoe falling from heaven hit him on the head.

"STICK TO THE SCRIPT."

Bruce didn't talk for the rest of the trip.

On their way, they stopped in a pasture where two shepherds- one of whom was female with long, dark hair, who was 5'11 and liked to be called princess, and the other was a handsome young man with medium length black hair and onyx eyes who seemed a bit peeved about being a shepherd in this particular story- of whom they asked for directions.

"Hm? Where'd you guys want to go?" The girl asked, hands on her hips.

"We're following that star, Miss." Drew grinned at her. "Can you tell us if you've seen anything special?"

"Nope. Not really." The boy beside her remained unresponsive as she spoke, brooding.

"Ah...well that's too bad." The three started once more on their journey, only to pause. "Hey..do you guys feel like something awesome's about to happen?" Faye asked, slipping off of his camel.

"Not particularly..." Bruce answered, slipping off of his camel too. "But siting on that thing makes me feel...constricted."

"Yours isn't that big, Bruce." Drew rolled his eyes, slipping off too. "If anyone should be uncomfortable, it should be me."

"That's very inappropriate."

All eyes turned to the heavens, where a legion of angels started to sing. "Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men!"

The Three Wise Men/ Idiot Trio deadpanned. "...why aren't I surprised?"

"Because...we know the story?"

"SHADDUP AND EXPRESS SOME AWE!"

"I can't!" Drew cried, "There's a female angel up front! We all know there aren't supposed to be female angels!"

The leader of the angel chorus stopped singing. Her eyes set on Drew, her beautiful face showing no emotion...and then she kicked him in the face.

"OW! How did you do that when you're in heaven!?" Drew was on the ground, clutching his cheek.

"With God, anything is possible." The angel- whose name happened to be Miranda- glared at him. "Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a Savior who is Christ the Lord." She held out her hand, "And this shall be a sign unto you; ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger."

The head angel smiled, bowing. "I'd get going if I were you." With that, the legion of angel was gone, almost as if they'd never been there.

The five who had witnessed this only blinked. The first one who spoke was the boy who'd been brooding before. "Well...you heard the angels, Hime. We should get going to Bethlehem..."

The girl only stared. "...glory to God..." Her eyes filled with tears. "And I thought living this long was a curse! You're so right, Soshi! It was a gift! A gift!" She grabbed the boy, kissing him on the cheek (which made him blush) and then she put up two fingers. "To Bethlehem!" And the peculiar shepherds disappeared in a puff of smoke.

The idiot trio paused for a few moments, unable to understand what was going on, and then suddenly they bolted, running to their camels. "GO, YOU STUPID CAMEL! THE IDIOT DREW TURNED OUT TO BE RIGHT ABOUT THE KING!"

The camels had no trouble getting a move on after the seeing the angels, and the Wise Men ended up going faster than expected.
