Sakura-Con 2010, Part 2: The Meet-Up!

Day late, but there was a need to add hilarious music to things. That said, here are all the videos I've cut together of the Saturday site meet-up at Sakura-Con 2010 in Seattle, Washington. It was an amazing amount of fun, many laughs were had b...

Sakura-Con 2010, Part 1: The Ashton Show!

Well, I'm back.

Sakura-Con was pretty good in all this year; long lines and more of the same from the dealer's room, granted. Still, if nothing else, I'd have to say the company was excellent.

Case in point: The Amazing Panda and the CORGI which we hunted down in the Red Lion Hotel. Here's but a taste of the videos to be officially posted thus far, featuring Gail the Panda, Ashton the Corgi, and a whole slew of Canadians affiliated with folks affiliated with theO:

Admit it. If they had made the meet-up, these two alone would have been worth the time taken to come out.

Videos from the official meet-up on Saturday shall be up tomorrow. And believe me, it's good.

Sakura-Con 2010: One Last Surprise . . .

Alright, so remember when I lied about Panda not being at the con?

Well, the lie has officially turned into a half-truth.

Panda, Panda's husband, and the CORGI will be floating around Sakura-Con and the local area Friday evening, probably around 8pm and after. They'll just be chilling a bit, taking pictures and the like, and probably won't be too involved in the con itself (especially since you can't really take a dog into these places).

If you're feeling lucky with your hunting, the best potential places to find the elusive Panda would either be the main lobby of the Red Lion hotel (about 3 or 4 blocks away from the convention center), just outside the convention center itself, or at the parks around that area.

So if you see a jovial Japanese woman, a tall, probably bearded man, and a corgi with a red collar... chances are you have just found the elusive Panda!

Something to think about. Otherwise, we'll see you all at 3pm on Saturday! If you see Valkyria Chronicles cosplay, you're probably on the right track for that one. See ya then!

Sakura-Con 2010: Finalised Facts, Disappointment

So, I need to kill some incentives spectacularly now...

Okay, so on the plus side, it looks like 3:00pm on Saturday, April 3rd at the ground-floor couches is a lock and essentially everyone can make it there. Excellent. So we're gonna finalise that.

On the other hand, no corgi.

Sadly, Panda will not be making it to the con' this year, and as such shall not be bringing her dog to see us. She's going to Canada instead.

Yeah, think about that.

All is not lost, though. We've plans to hook up on Friday so she can still unload all the cool free stuff to me so I can bring it to everyone who comes out to the meet-up. So we'll still have that.

Other than that, any other questions or stuff that pop up regarding Sakura-Con can be fielded over at the Conventionist World. So, for example, if anyone doesn't know where the ground floor couches are, we can fill you in on that.

So yes, should be fun. Hope to see lots of you there!

Punch and pie.

Sakura-Con 2010: Let's Do This!

theOtaku.com is gearing up for Sakura-Con 2010 in Seattle, Washington once again, and so should you! We're gonna be there, and by virtue of tradition, posterity, and just plain audacity, we feel that you, the member, should be there as well.

This is up far later than usual for planning this. My bad. I think I shall copy-paste:

Reasons for coming out:

  • This is one of the site's best meet-ups in terms of turnout for both members and staff-types.
  • The Amazing Panda will be there!
  • The Amazing Panda will be bringing a buttload of free giveaways!
  • The Amazing Panda will be bringing her corgi cosplaying as Ein!
  • I'm not going to quiz anyone on Canadian trivia this year!
  • Seriously! Corgi! What more needs to be said?!

Y'know what'd suck? If it turned out Gail doesn't bring Ashton the corgi with her. That'd kill the incentives spectacularly...

Planning is underway over at the Conventionist world as we speak. So let's show everyone how awesome the northwesters (and the Canadian southwesters) are and let's have some fun.

Remember! Corgi!
