I agree with #9 - with some, its obvious the accounts have been created since they post no worlds, post no pictures, post no words, and only subscribe and favor one user. And...have no icons
Ah yes, VV... took a little getting used to for me but once I got used to everything, I've loved it ever since!^_^ That means you did an excellent job:P 2008... Good times, good times...*dreams away* LOL
TheO will be absolutely perfect to me, like I said before, when there's an official contests section:3 An avatar section would be fun too, cause I've seen people make some awesome ones
Eheh. Just suggestions^^;;;;
Anyways, I wish the entire Otaku community a fantastic New Year! *throws confetti*
I agree that Version Vibrant was the biggest thing to happen in '08, but to me I liked how people can "extend" on their works. (like make bigger wallpapers and create news for everyone to read! :3 )
2008 was definitely a year full of milestones, and this list sums them up very well.
Heh, I'm flattered and proud that Movie Sign (along with Anime Club) made it on the list, and at #4 even! I'm glad we got that going, it's been a blast every time and I hope we can continue to do it for as long as we have a supply of MST to watch. ^^
It just made a lot of sense to get the clubs going, because while Chat is a great addition, other than the scant celebrity chats, it felt underused. It was the perfect opportunity to extend the community spirit of theOtaku.
And I guess the Watercooler can be said to have made it to the list, if only by association with he clubs. Since the Podcast spamming pretty much died when the switch to VV was made, it's original focus is gone, but I'm still glad I created that World. It was a good test to get used to the new cooperative worlds system, and it still amazes me that it's the #3 ranked world.
Yup, agreed~~ It has been a great year for theotaku, despite that hacker business~~ ^^; But, hey~~ Theotaku is still here and will forever remain~~
I love everything about theotaku, I'm really looking forward to seeing it's progress as the years go by~~ I wonder what theotaku has in store for all of us in 2009~
Have a Happy New Year~~ ;3

Heh. I dunno anymore, since Mask's thingy at The Watercooler was basically the same thing as that, but without a list. Feels a little rehashy and I have to work the better part of today.
Anyways...funny story. I remember when Chat was first announced, I was telling Katana and Timber "You know? I don't see myself utilizing this all that much..."
Now, four, five months later, it effectively siphons a little bit of my life away each and every day. THANKS, ADAM!!! *thumbs up*
But yeah, I pretty much agree with everything on this list, its placement, etc. Now get crackin' on the Top Ten Most Fascinating Otaku of 08, nyes? *shot*
I definitely agree with your number 1 and 2. After I talked about the Writer's Jam, I was like "ohhh, the CHAT, durr." Thanks to the chat, which I've been participating in more often, I've gotten to really know some great people that I only had kind of a fleeting knowledge of before.
And sometimes chat logs make for some GREAT reading.
Great list man. Maybe we can host a Valentine's Day Writer's Jam. Can you IMAGINE the romance?
I had some great background music running in my head that actually fit perfectly in with this whole countdown thing, making the experience of reading it just all the better.
Hwa, a year in review...it is, of course, all a matter of opinion, but I do agree that in some way, shape, or form, all of the things here had quite the impact on the site [though mine might be shuffled differently].
While I knew the launch of VV would be number one, it just feels odd that the launch of Chat wasn't, y'know? It had such a profound impact on people when launched and has spawned off into an expanse that it kind of overshadows the launch. Then again, VV is what made it possible, but...yeah, it's that kind of dilemma, heh.
Gotta say though, quite flattered on the fact that Movie Sign and Anime Club made the list - and really freakin' high up there! I've had such a good time with MS and met and became better friends with members through geekery beyond the standard fair of theO...it's been wild.
So like, 2009's going to have even better stuff, right?
