Hello, everyone!

You have reached the rambling, the fangirling, and the general chill-pad of theOtaku's NightBeck, a.k.a Becky, a.k.a Crimson Lotus the Irish Ninja.

... okay, maybe not the last one. But people will be calling me that one day.

This is your place to chill, talk about life and fandom, and be generally crazy. So go on. Play nice, be good to each other, don't make me hurt you.

My favorite series: Princess Tutu, Ookiku Furikabutte, Mushishi, xxxHOLiC, Monster, Black Lagoon, Ergo Proxy, Escaflowne, and Baccano!

My writing: Cafe Cliche

I am a superhero.

I am somehow still alive after working on two huge projects all weekend, not getting to sleep until 2:00, then getting up at 6:00 to ride to school in peak Tokyo Monday morning traffic to print about 60 pages of stuff in the computer lab. And then...

Ehehe.

Hey y'all - sorry for the extensive radio silence. Various things happened, and I'll explain later, but it's all okay now. Kinda. Anyway, tell me what you've been up to?

In the meantime, I'll be going to Hiroshima for the weekend. Take care now, y'hear?

More host family wtfery.

Ahaha, well. This was my Saturday night: So my host family is always like, "take whatever you want out of the fridge," etc, but either way in hindsight I should have asked. But basically I took a beer out of the fridge. And my host father ...

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS. I downloaded an illegal copy of Star Trek and finally got to watch it.

I think I basically spent the whole movie going "EEHEEHEEHEEEEEEE!"

And I grew up on TNG and Picard and all that and haven't actually seen that much of the original series but still! I am a sucker for a good popcorn movie and this was totally and completely fun. Also, ashfjskss Karl Urban as McCoy is my favorite thing ever. Although I was also flipping out over John Cho's Sulu and his fencing. And omg Simon Pegg cracked me up so badly. And eeeeee just so much ridiculous geek love.

And then I finished the movie and saw this trailer for the Robert Downey Jr. Sherlock Holmes movie, which literally had me flailing and screaming, despite the fact that it's midnight here and my host parents are probably like "WHY IS SHE SO WEIRD."

I feel happy. :D

WHAT.

... did my host father just tell me how I should get out more because I'm "always at the computer?" And was he really just like "Well our OTHER exchange students went out with their friends?"

What?

What?

What?

.... *blinks* Did I not go to Okayama with them to entertain their relatives for hours on end? Did I not just go out to Tokyo Disney last week and then Melissa's house on Friday night? Is it really a bad thing that I don't go out partying after school, or that I joined a low-stress circle instead of a club that meets four times a week? I mean. He knows I'm a writer. He knows that this is where I work.

ashfjsk I'm not even offended, I know he's trying to be concerned and that these are his own preconceptions about what a college student should be. But what the hell, isn't it good that I'm not out getting in trouble?

Hahahahahhaashfjsk I'm so confused.

*makes new tag for when host family is being silly*
