Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter

So begins my new task of climbing the ranks of the University side of the guild. It fills me with such a sense of pride that I mad it this far... Yeah right. And what is my first task you ask. Something so simple that I don't even know why they try to make it sound important. Get a book and bring it back. Wow, I feel so important to the guild doing such an asinine honorable thing.

And that makes it hard?

Look I get it. The Count is a vampire. So what? What is with everyone and their "hint, hint, nudge, nudge" crap. Rufus seemed to really believe that fact is what made this an important first task. I was speechless at the time. I believed I at least looked like I cared, though I sometimes don't know what my facial expressions are. Niina has told me that I usually don't have one. Which I guess can be good.

Speaking of...

I wasn't in much of a hurry to complete the task so I made a quick stop at my Cheydinhal house to collect up some items should the Count give me any trouble. It was a surprise to see Niina actually using my house like I had offered a bit ago. When I asked about her weapon, she just laughed and pointed to a large stack of cloth and dye bottles. At least I know know how she gets all her materials. Having nothing better to do and really not wanting to do the task, I asked if she wanted to come with me. She seemed quite happy with the offer.

With a long road ahead of us, we more or less left immediately. It was a quiet ride with her. Sparkle was more than strong enough to hold both of us. She seemed to like Niina. At least more than she sometimes seems to like me.
