Demon Hunter Rinoa Veil Chapters 5-6

Chapter 5: "To the City of Blue Sakura!"

"Rinoa, we should find Akira soon." Kyou remarked as they started walking together.

"Yeah, I agree... He's in the City of Blue Sakura, to the north of here. The monks should be with him." Rinoa told him.

"I see, but you shouldn't have said that so loud..." He warned.

"Why not?" Rinoa asked.

Kyou paused before he answered.

"Well, you see..." He said, "Never mind. It shouldn't be a problem. We should hurry and get to the City as soon as we can, okay?"

"Right... and, just so we have an understanding of each other, I can take care of myself. So if we get into any more battles, just be sure to stay out of my way." Rinoa said.

Kyou chuckled. "I'll be sure and take that to note." He promised, replaying the fight she had with Azriel and how she 'saved' him.

"Oh, after we find your friend, I was ordered to report back to the Society to confirm that he is secure." Kyou implied.

"Sure, whatever." Rinoa said, nodding and walking head.

After a few hours of walking, Kyou sighed. Rinoa glared at him.

"What's wrong?" She asked him.

"It's just... do you feel like someone is watching us?" He asked her.

Rinoa stood there, feeling nothing. "No, not really." She replied.

"Well, I do..." Kyou whispered, looking around suspiciously.

Then, as if on cue, they heard a small giggle echo.

"All right, that's enough! Show yourself!" Kyou shouted.

"If I do... will you marry me?!" A girl's voice said, and the next thing they knew, the girl had tightly wrapped her arms around Kyou's legs and laughed annoyingly.

"What in the world?!" Rinoa exclaimed in surprise.

"Yay, yay!" The girl chirped happily.

"I knew it! You were still following me from Raine, you stalker-child!" Kyou shouted, trying to shake the girl off of him,

"No, no! You don't understand!" The girl yelled desperately.

"No, we don't." Rinoa said, sweat dropping.

The girl sniffed and released Kyou, who gave a sigh of relief.

"Well, you see..." The girl said, tapping her fingers together timidly, "You were going the the City of Blue Sakura, and so I thought I'd follow you because I don't know the way!"

"Why do you need to go to the City of Blue Sakura?" Rinoa asked.

Then, unexpectedly, the girl started balling her eyes out.

"Ahhh! They took my sister! They just came and took my Sin-Sin away!" The girl cried.

"What? Who took her?" Kyou asked with renewed interest.

"T-the Empire did! I don't know why, though!" The girl sobbed.

Rinoa exchanged glances with Kyou.

"It's up to you, Rinoa. Should we help her?" He asked.

"Well, it's on our way, anyhow. I guess we could rescue her sister..." Rinoa agreed.

The little girl stopped crying, and her face quickly lit back up like a light.

"YAY!" She exclaimed, "Oh, my name is Aislin Masako, by the way!"

Rinoa smiled. "I'm Rinoa Veil, and this is Kyou Masahiro." She introduced.

"Rinoa Veil? You mean the famous demon hunter?! WOW! Lucky me!" Aislin cheered.

Kyou chuckled.

"Well, then... off to the City of Blue Sakura, I suppose." He said.

"Let's go!" Rinoa said, leading the small group to the world renowned City of Blue Sakura.

Chapter 6: "If you say so..."

Several hours had passed, and the small group had seen different towns, all leading the the City of Blue Sakura. The towns surrounding it were known as the outer ring of the empire city, the city itself was famous for the empire, and the blue colored sakura trees that resided in it.

"You know, Rinoa... I may be an agent, but I haven't been to the City in a long time... the Royal Guards may not recognize me. I'm sorry if I cause you any trouble." Kyou said, scratching the back of his head nervously.

Rinoa's dark red eyes flickered over to look at him. "That's okay. Just tell them that you're with the Society. I'm sure they'll understand immediately." She said sarcastically.

Kyou smiled a wry smile.

"Something tells me that's a sarcastic response..." He remarked.

"Maybe it is, maybe it isn't." Rinoa said, crossing her arms, walking ahead.

Kyou sighed and chuckled at the same time.

"You're quite different, Rinoa. Unlike any girl I've ever met in my life." He commented.

"Is that supposed to flatter me? I'm probably the only girl you've ever met in your life!" She remarked.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Kyou asked, a little insulted.

"Well, I'm just saying... being an agent, they aren't given that much freedom... much less a social life. I guess the 'Society' doesn't really live up to its name after all, huh?" Rinoa said, closing her eyes.

Kyou sweat dropped. "If you say so, Rinoa." He said, shaking his head.

"Hey, guys! Are you two, like, together? Going out?" Aislin questioned, jumping up on Kyou's shoulders.

Rinoa's eyes popped open again, giving Kyou a sudden death glare.

"Why do you ask?" Kyou asked, staying calm. "What kind of question is that?!" Rinoa bellowed.

"Um, well..." Aislin said, innocently tapping her chin, "That would pose as a problem in me and Kyou-chan's relationship. You see, I'm supposed to marry him! It's a self-proclaimed prophecy!"

Rinoa's face turned cherry red. Not with embarrassment, or blushing, but from... anger. "How could you possibly assume such a thing?! I am with Akira! No one else! GOT IT?!" She shouted.

Both Kyou and Aislin backed away slowly. "If you say so!" They said in unison.

"AND, when we get to the City, I don't want ANY trouble, from EITHER of you, GOT IT?!" Rinoa demanded.

"If you say so." They said again, both smiling.

"AND, I don't care if you like Kyou. He just saved me once and is going the same way as I am. THAT'S ALL!" Rinoa reminded.

"If you say so!" They repeated.

"Gah, shut up already!" Rinoa said, and the two started laughing.

"If you say so, Rinoa." Kyou said, and his eyes softening as he looked at her.

Rinoa noticed this, and quickly turned away, this time blushing.

"C'mon, the City's not too far from here. Let's hurry up and get there." She said, and they trudged on through the outer parts of Raine.
