Kiss the girl

And here's the happier story I promised XD. Writers block still sucks though.

Song: Kiss the girl
Artist: Ashley Tisdale
Characters: Jasmine and Darius ((newest OCs))

There you see her
Sitting there across the way
She don't got a lot to say
But there's something about her

Darius sat on the park bench, reading quietly to himself. He was in a world of his own when he saw movement to the left of him. He looked up to see a girl sit down next to him. Her black hair blew around her face as a gust of wind passed around them. When it had passed, and her hair settled back into place, he recognized her instantly. “Jasmine?” he tried, hoping he wouldn’t sound like an idiot. Jasmine, his childhood friend, whom he hadn’t seen since she’d moved away 7 years ago.

And you don't know why
But you're dying to try
You wanna kiss the girl

She turned around, genuine surprise showing on her face as she finally recognized him. “Darius?” she smiled. “I haven’t seen you in ages!” She threw her arms around him and pulled him into a tight hug. Darius could feel a blush creeping over his face and he mentally slapped himself. Jasmine pulled back and looked him over, “Jeez, I almost didn’t recognize you.”

Yes, you want her
Look at her, you know you do
It's possible she wants you too
There's one way to ask her
It don't take a word, not a single word
Go on and kiss the girl

“Same here,” he smiled. Last time he’d seen her, she’d had short, messy hair and wouldn’t have been caught dead in a dress. Now, her hair was long and silky, and she was wearing a dark blue dress with stars printed on the hem. He also remembered that she’d had a flat chest... “So, how have you been?” he coughed, sure this time she had seen how his face had turned bright red.

Looks like the boy's too shy
Ain't gonna kiss the girl
Ain't that sad
it's such a shame
Too bad, you're gonna miss the girl
go on and kiss the girl

Jasmine smiled widely, “I’ve been great!” She turned away from him, playing with the hem of her dress. “Though I’ve really missed you,” she added, avoiding eye contact with him. Darius blinked, thinking that he must have imagined that. Even though he’d really missed her too, he wasn’t going to take any chances. He didn’t want to risk looking like an idiot after they’d just met.

Don't be scared
You better be prepared
Go on and kiss the girl
Don't stop now
Don't try to hide it how
You wanna kiss the girl

“What’cha reading?” Jasmine asked, noticing the book he was holding for the first time.
Darius looked down at the book. He’d forgotten he’d been holding it. “A midsummer night’s dream,” he answered, slightly embarrassed. “I really like all that old junk,” he added.
“Junk?” Jasmine raised an eyebrow at him. “I love that stuff,” she laughed. Darius let out the breath he’d been holding. He was scared she was going to laugh at him, or call him stupid. “Come on,” Jasmine grabbed his hand, before she realized what she was doing, and pulled him along like she had used to when they were little. “My parents will probably be surprised to see you.”
“Huh?” Darius looked up at her for the first time, he’d been staring at their hands.
Jasmine seemed to realize what he had been doing, and quickly pulled her hand away. “Sorry,” she mumbled, not facing him.
Finally Darius couldn’t take it anymore. “I missed you,” he whispered as he wrapped his arms around her. She looked up at him, eyes wide. Before he had a chance to think about what he was doing and chicken out, he leant down and lightly kissed her.

Go on and kiss the girl
