Hello, and welcome to the Satellite of Love. This world is dedicated to the comedy phenomenon that is Mystery Science Theater 3000. It's a show about an average guy and his robot pals, stuck up in space and forced by a mad scientist to watch the worst movies ever made. Their only defense: the ability to make fun of the movies in a desperate effort to keep their sanity.

So just relax and join Joel Robinson, Mike Nelson, Tom Servo, and Crow T. Robot as they endure the most painful films in cinema history, armed with nothing but their sense of humor.

Introductory Picks

You've heard talk of this 'MST3K'. You've seen some crazy people running around theO with silhouette icons, raised an eyebrow at the bizarre cards that have some guy and robots staring back at you, and wondered why you had never heard of a movie that the review spoke of.

And then somehow, you found this place.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 is a ridiculously fun time, and if you're curious about it, give a peak to timechaser's essential guide. But if you're lost as to where to start...

The wondrous thing about MST3K is that episodes hold no continuity between them, making for very few plot points over the entire series. In fact, everything you need to know can be, well, found in the essential's guide. With this being the case, you can easily dive right into the show.

For once in your life, it's probably not recommended to start at the very beginning. (The true beginning, the KTMA episodes, are nigh impossible to find as a whole. Clips are available on YouTube, though.) Season one had Joel and the bots truly ad-libbing in the theater, with no script or jokes to go off of. It's noted that the show didn't truly hit its stride until the third season or so...but it's all still good.

Anyways! To slip in nice and easy, there are two videos recommended for beginners. The quality of movie riffing and the host segments make them winners and hopeful gateways into the land of MST3K. Keep in mind the descriptions are vague and based off of jokes made by the guys.

Cave Dwellers (Episode 301)
Part 1 of 10
A fantasy movie. A princess teams up with an overly buff man in a leather bikini to save her father.
-Host: Joel (with crazy floofy hair)
-Villain: Dr. Forrester

The Final Sacrifice (Episode 910)
Part 1 of 10
A young boy and a loveable alcoholic go to thwart a cult and find out the mystery behind the boy's father's death.
-Host: Mike
-Villain: Pearl

And from there, go run off in terror or frolic in happiness. Give us a shout as to what you think!

MST3K: The Essentials

"We'd just like to apologise to everyone everywhere for this." - Joel from Catching Trouble (Episode 315) Some of you may already be diehard MSTies. The rest of you are obviously asking, "Mystery Science The...
