It's raining.

It's a cold day as Sakura Haruno left the warmness and comfort of her compound. She walked through the gloomy weather through town, not having any place inpeticular to go in mind. As she turned the corner she came to Yamanaka flowers. She decided it'd be nice to have some flowers in her house, considering the way things were outside. She looked around, admiring them.

"Need something Sakura?"

Sakura looked over to the counter, where Ino was pleasently sitting with her apron over her shinobi clothes. Their friendship had begun to fix itself after the terrible fate of their beloved Sasuke leaving. They figured it didn't matter anymore, and they began to get along.

"I'm just looking for some flowers, I'm not a person for the cold," she says.
Ino smiles at her, "I see. How about some poppies? They mean happiness and warmth. They're bright to look at."
"Sounds wonderful Ino," says Sakura. Ino nods her head and gathers the flowers for Sakura. She then notices the sad face her friend is performing.
"You still miss him?" she asks quietly.
"Yes, but even if he were to return, I'm afraid I'll only see him as a friend," says Sakura, taking in the sweet aroma of the flowers.
Ino stares at her sadly, but then tries a reassuring smile, "I'm sure if he came back, you'd feel the same way you did. At least, you'd be happy again."
"Thank you Ino."

When summer comes I see the world...

Just a place for everyone...

To see each other live, and grow...

As Sakura placed the flowers in a vase by her window sill, she glanced outside seeing Sai and Naruto bickering. She smiled thoughtfully, happy that Naruto was back, and that they would someday see Sasuke again. Hopefully, and hopefully soon. Collasping onto her back on her bed she stared at the ceiling, remembering all the great times she had had with Sasuke...and Naruto...and Kakashi-sensei... Those memories were fond to her, and she loved them more than life itself. She knew it was wrong to dwell on the past, but dreaming about it made her heart fill to the top with needed warmth.

Glancing at her clock she sprang from the bed in a rage, running out the door she kept mumbling to herself, "I'm gonna be late, Tsunade's gonna kill me, I'm gonna be late..."

--

At night I dwell upon the sky...

Meeting every crease and star I see...

More then my dreams could ever undo...

--

"Sorry I'm late Tsunade-sama," mumbles Sakura as she stepped into her office.
"Well, better late then never..." says Tsunade.
Sakura glanced at her sensei, she didn't expect such a suttle forgiveness, "Is something wrong Tsunade-sama? You seem...tired."
"Well, I guess you'll find out sooner or later..." she says and places a piece of paper down on her desk.

"Uchiha Sasuke has returned."

Worship the gifts rained upon us...

Bring light to those trapped in dark...

Care for disasters...

Sakura's breath caught in her throat.
"He is? Where is he? May I see him?" she asked persistantly.
"I'm afraid you won't like where he is..." says Tsunade.
What an odd statement.
"Then...then where is he?" asks Sakura, now worried.
"He's in the hospital."
"What!? Why's he there?!" she asks, a new worry came deep from within her stomach, something she thought she'd never feel. What was this, distrout feeling deep inside of her?
"When he returned he suffered from uncurable wounds. He'd only live for a few more hours. There's nothing we can do. He's in terrible condition. All information we could extract from him was his failed attempt of destroying his brother and..." Tsunade trailed off.
"Yes, Tsunade-sama?" pushed Sakura.
"...and his last request, was to see you one last time before he died."

Hold someone dear to your heart...

Never to let go the feeling of warmth...

Kiss the day goodbye...

--

Her breath was short, and much time had passed, what seemed like hours since Sakura began running to the hospital. When she burst through the doors she thought of no time to reclaim her breath and began running up through the rooms. She finally spotted the room she knew held the one she loved, the one she had loved for years on end, through any obstacle. Through the rain. Bursting through the door she attempted to reclaim her breath, but with very little prevail. She glanced up, only to be met with a terrible site of her love lifelessly on the hospital bed. Kakashi and Naruto were there, and they took one last glance at Sasuke before they bidded there farewells to him and left Sakura and Sasuke alone.

Slip to sleep at night...

Never to care what you live for...

Sing like no ones listening...

--

"Sakura..."

Sakura's heart skipped a beat as she heard the pained voice of Sasuke call to her. Without time to lose, she hurried to his side. Tears brimmed her jade eyes as she looked down into the onyxs of Sasuke.
"I'm here," she cooed.
He raised his hand forward to her, seeing with so much effort she placed her own hands around his, and savored the warmth of his finger tips as she brushed then against her cheek.
"Sakura, before I go-"
"No! Don't speak of that! You're going to make it through this Sasuke-kun, I promise! I promise!"
She could see a faint and pained smile on her beloved.
"I'm not going to see the rain tomorrow, I won't be here. But, I need to tell you..." he said and rested, for his words took a lot of effort on his part, "I need to tell you, I do love you...Sakura."

And with that his hand went limp. His eyes began to close.
"Sasuke-kun?"

--

Try like nothing can stop you...

Whale for all etern...

Moonlight spread upon a blackened agony...

--

"SASUKE-KUN!"

--

Love like you'll never love again...

Weep like the waterfall...

Of lonliness and sought...

--

That was it.

Sasuke was gone.

Gone to a better place, a paradise for anyone.

Sakura felt the depression, she felt the loss, but she didn't feel lonely.

No. She didn't feel lonely at all. With renewed curage she stood up next to the bed and wiped away her tears. As a kunoichi she honored her love's life goal. And was to fufill it for him. That was the night she decided she would go out, and kill Itachi herself.

When she left that room, she didn't leave alone. For she knew that Sasuke was with her, in spirit, he would always be there.

She would never feel lonely again.

For Sasuke will always be with her.

Now.

And always.

Like a love should always be.

And so paint the sky with stars...

When the cold comes...

This is the day, rain parted for us.
