Staff Are NOT Your Personal Messengers

This is something that comes up quite a bit and after someone decided to be rather rude about it, I decided it was time to make it clear to everyone that staff are NOT your personal messengers.

Let me explain. Often people will come into chat and ask you to pass a message along to someone. There is no need for this when we have a perfectly good PM system set up for all members to use.

The other instance, which mainly happens to me or Adam, is someone starts whispering to us wanting to know the password to one of the rooms in chat.

I'm going to let you all in on something. Chat Administrators don't know the password to any room unless we are told. Our status simply allows us to enter the room as if there was no password at all.

So we have nothing to give to members when they ask. Nor are we messengers to go and 'fetch' the password for you or 'tell' someone you want to talk to them. If you don't know the password for the room your friend is in, that is your problem not ours.

Some people don't listen though and think it's alright to start insulting us when we won't do as they want. It's not the end of the world if you have to wait to catch your friend next time. =/
