Late Night
A Short NaruSaku One-shot.
The sink was clean of plates, the plates were dry and placed in their appropriate spot, and the leftover food from her dinner was already packed in the fridge. The dining table was cleared, and the lights in the kitchen were turned off.
All in all, it was a typical evening for Sakura Haruno, but...something was missing.
Sakura's hand dangled off the side of the couch she was laying on, her fingers twitching from time to time. Her green eyes twinkled with the relfection the moonlight made off of the ceiling fan above her. Her hair lay all over the small pillow that held her head.
Her lips seem to move soundlessly, singing a song she didn't know the words to. The window feet from her laid open, and let in a cool breeze that faltered her strange focus on the ceiling of the apartment.
Her lips stopped moving and her head turned to stare at the curtains as they flowed back and forth like smooth satin waves. Her lips formed a tight line and she scowled at the wind.
"Playing games with me are you?" She spoke to the wind as it momentarily stopped. "You know that's the noise he makes when he comes back...so stop joking around." She mumbled angrily as the wind picked up again and continued its dance with her curtains.
She placed her arm over her face as she let out a heavy sigh. She realized how stupid she sounded...talking to an inanimate object. Her lips curled into a small smirk as she pondered on her sanity.
Then...she heard it. A small seize of the blowing wind as a large object seemed to block its flowing path. She quickly rose from the couch and her green eyes stared intently at the window that she yelled at only minutes before.
Her eyes narrowed as the wind's howls could be heard outside, yet the curtains stopped moving.
A shadow appeared then, hanging carefully on her windowsill's edge. It was the shape of a human, with too much weaponry on its back, and unruly spiked hair.
She smiled then, and walked over to the window to move aside the curatins that obscured her view.
"Sakura-chan..." Was the husky and breathless response she recieved as the curtains revealed an anbu with blond hair kneeling on her window.
His grin was wide, his azure eyes bright and shining in the darkness of the night, his whiskers nearly hidden in the dirt and smudge surrounding his face, and some clumps of dirt clung to his messy locks.
She raised a fine pink brow and questioned him, "You come home late and expect me to let you in, especially looking like some giant dirt-ball?"
His grin faltered and his pout took its place as he spoke with hurt feelings. "Ne, Sakura-chan! That's cruel! I worked on this mission all day...I promise to take a bath as soon as I get in...please??"
Sakura rolled her eyes and punched his tattoo-clad shoulder. "Naruto, whining like a little baby won't get you anywhere, you're twenty for god's sake!"
She tried to contain her laughter as he watched his eyes water with the tears he's learned to use over his years as a prankster. "B-But Sakura-chan...I'm not whining, I just wanna get inside and out of the cold."
She shakes her head and steps aside to let him in. He grins and jumps in; proceeding to engulf her in one of his huge bear hugs as he covers her in his dirt.
She growls at his action and stomps her foot on his toes. He yelps in pain and releases her. "Look what you've done now Naruto! Geez, learn some restraint moron!"
Before he can pout and whine again she pushes him toward their bathroom with an upset look. "None of your retarded excuses Naruto, get in there and get cleaned before I kick you out for good!"
Naruto waits until he's pushed inside the bathroom to turn and give her a warm smile. She's caught off-guard and waits for him to say what's on his mind.
"I'm home..." he whispers lovingly as he kisses her forehead and closes the door behind him with a soft thud.
Sakura blinks as she lets his words sink in. Then she lets a small blush dust her cheeks as she smiles with slight embarassment.
"Baka." She whispers endearly as she makes her way back to the kitchen to make him some ramen.
It's just another late night, she thinks as she pours water into a pot.

I'm so confused right now. Version Vibrant is awesome and all, but I have no idea how to submit pictures, where all my fav fan manga and fan art went. I just need some help, if anyone else has had enough luck to have figured out everything on this new The Otaku.com please PM me and explain....I just don't want to hate coming here cause of my lack of figuring things out.
(EDIT)- SO I figured out how to post images -laughs nervously- kinda feel retarded for not seeing it before, but anyways....just gonna see if my dumb luck will keep working and I can figure other things out
