I'm working towards a Bachelors in Fine Arts in Studio Art! :) So I'm trying to learn basically all art out there. XD
Oh my gosh that's awesome~~ So many classes though please don't tell me you have to take that many within the school year! XD Thank you!! I really appreciate it! :) Some painting advice would be awesome XD
Haha, you're spot on! I've always found watercolor more doable than the other paints for me. I haven't actually used the paints, but I have worked with water soluble graphite and water soluble pastels. I have gouache to experiment with, but I haven't really had the right paper to practice on until now! I recently met an artist that painting this amazing mural with acrylics, so I would love to experiment those too. I just need to practice blending and stuff.
Yeah in contour drawings, you observe a subject and draw on the paper using one long, continuous line. I think more people do blind contour where they don't/infrequently look at their paper whilst drawing. I think that works as observational, but I just don't know if it's the best idea to use in a portfolio xD
Yeah I'm super glad that I don't curse under my breath every time I enter the school building. XD I'm really looking forward to what happens this year :)
1.) That's totally fine XD Thank you<3
2.) I agree. I think they're a lot of fun, but I'm not sure exactly how well it shows on a portfolio. Thank you so much for the advice though! I'll be sure to ask my professor. :)

O.O Are you doing bachelor in finearts or design??
Cause I am doing Fineart and I have most of the same subjects xD I got 11 subjects to be honest .__. So I can help you if you want the basics for them :) Hmmmm painting, I do water colours :O I learned on my own to be honest but I can explain the basics to you if you want but judging from your style, I could better tell if your more suited to water colour or acrylics.Like I mean do you prefer the careful time work or the quick and rough style?
By Contour drawings, you mean outline drawings?

Sounds like you've been having a great time! It's a good thing because that will make your school year a bit easier CX Your classes sound very interesting too! Hope you enjoy them throughout the school year!
1) Sadly, I don't know any advice on painting. I'm also having a bit trouble with it, so you're not alone! xD; I'll keep an eye out for any good tips, though ^_^
2) I honestly don't know? I feel like contour drawings should count, but at the same time I also feel like they are not portfolio worthy. Have a talk with one of your art teachers, preferbly your drawing teacher about it. Maybe they will know.
Good luck on the portfolio!~ Have fun at college! :)
