Good evening, welcome to the first installment of your guide to Angel Sanctuary the 1995 manga release. I am Belial speaking, this is the review of the first act of Angel Sanctuary. Please enjoy,

Who once shown brightest in the heavens of Beautiful Lucifer's rebellion
Those who would repeat it again
Hear the cries of the winged species that soar in the Heavens
They are neither God nor mortal
For they are called "angels"
And with those words begins the Angel Sanctuary manga series. Our story starts in the fifth heaven, a prison for fallen angels and the most horrid demons. Upon killing the guards, two "evils" (demons - Kurai and Arachne) break in to steal the "angel cristal" A huge block of crystal concealing the fallen Angel Alexiel, whom "Kurai" (one of the evils) refers to as her leader. They obviously plan to take the crystal back down to their home in Hell.
Back in Earth, Setsuna Mundo is about to get a royal beating by his "sensei's" gang. However, upon seeing the blood from their fight, Setsuna becomes sleepy and tired. His friend Sakuya Kira, calls off his, "friends" and takes Setsuna home, only to be intercepted by his little sister, Sara Mundo. Setsuna is confused and doesn't like to be around his sister, due to the fact that one could only call the feeling that he has for her - incestuous. However, Sara's friend, Ruri Saki has other plans. She wants Setsuna for herself! Ruri is then confronted by a mysterious man in priests clothes, who gives her a CD with the title, "Angel Sanctuary". Upon playing the game, Ruri learns that their is an angel guiding her, the angels calls himself "Rosiel". He makes her more beautiful so she can have Setsuna. Meanwhile, the two evils have descended to earth, looking for their "leader" (the fallen angel - Alexiel). Kurai is led to believe that Setsuna is the reincarnation of the angel. However, before she can confront him, a mysterious man is spotted - also following Setsuna. Kurai recognizes him as a high ranking angel, her sworn enemy. She flings a power blast at him, only to have him dissapear, laughing. The blast then aims straight at the building in which Setsuna, Sara, and Sara's friend, Ruri are in!

Good evening, this is Belia speaking, I believe that it is time for a manga to be spoken of. Angel Sanctuary is a lesser-known manga that not many know of...That is about to change. Simply put, Angel Sanctuary is about love, incest, angels, demons, and what it truly means to be evil and to be good...Please stay with us as Belial and I shall talk more in the future...
On another note, in case you are just now reading this, please remember that ther e are two sides to me, a male side and a female side. The female side is called Belia, and the male side is called Belial, confusing yes I know. If I sign with "tata" then it is the female side talking, if it's "toodles" then it's the male side talking...

Good evening, allow me to introduce myself. I am Belial, I have been feeling what I am about to talk about for some time now, and I feel that this is a subject that many of us (meaning all of you esteemed users now reading thing) can relate to: The stereotypes that are automatically placed upon us once we say that we like anime or manga. I have talked to many people on this issue and they agree with me. It is completely unfair to automatically judge someone because they like anime and manga. I have heard manga and anime called many different derogatory names, the nicest of which were "pornographic - porno stuff" to "perverted and stupid". While some manga and anime I admit I have thought twice about. I have never EVER thought of calling it those names. I am glared at, made fun of and sometimes extremely intimidated by those who do not approve of me reading and watching anime. I'm sure that some of these situations have happened to some of you readers before. I believe it to be unfair and downright mean in some cases. What we need is to educate the public about our interests and that we are not all a bunch of pedophiles who like looking and naked people. I find this stereotype insulting and a HUGE put-down. I want to be true to myself and I want to be proud of the things I like. This is becoming harder and harder because people just refuse to listen to me. Sometimes my own friends refuse to listen and just laugh. We need to get the courage to tell others what manga and anime really is, a way for us to relax, to have fun, and to express ourselves.
I just wanted to let you all know what I have been feeling. I sure that some of you might be feeling the same way. I hope that someday, we can easily talk about manga and anime and not be stereotyped in any way.

Please, I beseech you to listen to what I have to say. I am not always alone in this prison. When I was an angel I decided that gender is meaningless. Therefore I refused to become a female. (When all angels are created, they are genderless, I disagree and decided that I would become neither) However, this did not turn out as planned. What instead happened was that there are now two genders in me. Almost like a second personality if you will. My other side is still the same name, just...Well, I'll let you decipher who is who for yourself....
(Fine, I shall help you, I am the feminine side...)
