So as you may already know, a fanart that was just a tracing and color-in of a real manga page was submitted a few days ago.
And you should also already know i reported it as did a few of you after i mentioned it.
Luckily it's finally been deleted by either the site or the 'owner'.
Either way, VICTORY.

I know Moga-chan commented on it, but I'm not sure if the 'owner' was as rude to her as he/she was to me.
Or if he/she was a coward once more and simply deleted her comment. -w-'

And uh, that's it pretty much. Just an update.

Really I thought TheOtaku was at least somewhat strict with their submission policy, but apparently not.
Up til this point I had assumed it meant, if it wasn't drawn by you, you couldn't submit it. No tracing plz.
This is no better than tracing. The 'owner' scanned in a manga page traced over it in Photoshop and then colored it in.
Now I know that some people have posted screen-shot edits of characters in the TMM section, but at least they changed the whole thing to look like their Mew! So that still requires some creativity and work(aside from several hours of tracing) from you yourself!
But apparently tracing over and existing work is good enough for TheOtaku.
Great, just great.

And every artist who actually draws their own pictures hoping to be noticed and to get advice on how to improve will be ignored. Only those who trace and edit their way to the top will win in the end.
Because actually making your own art is overrated.

Annnnnnnd we're back!

This post covers several issues. So...whee.

Club Fanfiction.
Don't get me wrong, it's great and all,
But seriously you guys are spamming my dashboard and I'm only subscribed to THREE(3) categories. THREE, T-H-R-E-E!
But lo and behold! All the categories has a club.
And a majority of the members already belong to the other said clubs.
The way to fix this?
Simple. Don't put your Fanfiction posts in the categories. If you're a member you should probably already be subscribed to the owner/runner of the club, so you'll still get the notices in your dashboard.
And everyone else's dashboard will remain un-spammed and they'll get to see the stuff they actually care about, because, let's face it, not everyone wants to read your fanfiction.
Not gonna sugar-coat the bitter truth people, brutal honesty is what I do.

Little to no retribution for rule-breakers.
Within the past few days I've seen several pieces of work here on theO that weren't done by the apparent 'owner'.
One said it was done in Paint (as in MicrosoftPaint), but was obviously a screen-shot of the character blurred and smudged beyond recognition. No one called them out on this. I reported it and it's since been removed.

Another from today actually said it was simply a color-in from an existing (professional)manga page. Again no one said anything. Also reported.

What's more is the fact that popular artist's are the ones encouraging these people! They say, 'Nice job, I love the line art and coloring', etc.
THE HELL!?
SET A GOOD EXAMPLE AND NIP THESE RULE-BREAKERS IN THE BUD!
IF YOU DON'T ALL YOUR FAN SHEEP AREN'T GONNA DO A DAMN THING ABOUT EM EITHER!
